Rid's Log (return to Pre-PFS State and the final stretch)

First off, Congrats!!! It's not an easy journey at all. I'm a PSSD-er interested in your use of Licorice. How often did you take/ what dose/ how long did it take to see any changes?

CONNECTION LICORICE, INOSITOL, RU, ELLA, PROGESTERONE,LITHIUM

I'm kinda back to where I was before it. For a while it increased anxiety a lot, but that went away. I think that because I was taking a lot of exams that it took my anxiety and amplified that. Because I'm prone to anxiety, it all created the perfect storm. It took the anxiety a while to calm...

CONNECTION LICORICE, INOSITOL, RU, ELLA, PROGESTERONE,LITHIUM

We talked about the idea and the fork, but I don't recall talking about 11B-HSD in particular. The 11B-HSD is what I’m suggesting here, and I agree with the k+/Na+ stuff from our conversation. In fact, I know we didn’t talk about 11B-HSD because I just searched the entire thread for the keyword...

CONNECTION LICORICE, INOSITOL, RU, ELLA, PROGESTERONE,LITHIUM

IK this thread is a bit dead, but this seemed the best place to put this. In regards to Licorice, it blocks 11B-HSD from converting Cortisol to Cortisone. Now, this is really important for its role with Aldosterone. Cortisol binds to the GR, but also to the MR. Without 11B-HSD, Cortisol would...

    Accutane and Sexual Dysfunction

I have LH/FSH that are low, despite having normal levels of all other hormones. I think this is because Prog is knocking down the activity of both of those. That would lead to further problems besides any on the 5-HT1A. Whatever happened has the ability to happen fast. I was on Lexapro for only...

    Accutane and Sexual Dysfunction

Yea that's been the theory for the past few years. I think that 5-HT1A is desensitized, but there needs to be something keeping it that way. I think that is SERT down-regulation, which I believe could be from Progesterone blocking Estrogen from protecting SERT density. This would be sufficient...

ZINC FINGER THEORY DISCUSSION for PFS - 2 cases

You're right that it shouldn't be that way, but I just mean that often when you undo the thing that the drug changed, you might go back to the state that you were in before the drug. IDK if fin stopped hair loss in people with PFS or not, but in PSSD - most people that recover say that anxiety...

ZINC FINGER THEORY DISCUSSION for PFS - 2 cases

I just finished exams and read through all this. Wow. There is a lot here... I'll probably read over it all again. I want to challenge some people on this: I never had hair loss so I can't really claim to understand it, but it seems to me that if you reverse to a pre-fin state that hair loss...

    Ghost, Licorice

I have a similar daily routine. IDK how much of it is from any certain factor though. I recall that I've always been this way to a certain extent, but then again I was 17 and younger and I had school every day except for the weekends. I could barely get to bed by 1am then. Now, if I have no...

I usually have the best libido in the mornings, and it drops off around 2pm or so. Could this be cortisol related? Also, does anyone know if Cortisol drops off after you raise it for a while with something like licorice? Reading the Licorice recovery stories makes me feel like chronic cortisol...

    Ghost, Licorice

I took licorice because I'd heard that it had helped people in the past, and I wanted to see if I could push down aldo so that I could spring K+ up afterwards in an attempt to reduce Progesterone, which I hypothesize is what might be causing me and other PSSD sufferers so many problems...

@wuf I'll look into that E2 level. One thing that I initially thought it that there is a paper where E2 + DHT reverses PSSD in rats, and E2 alone was able to reverse about 80% of the behavior changes. Some updates: I have a feeling that I have a higher basal anxiety level than before all...

Thanks, guys! It really means a lot! OMG Vit D of 1 lol. That's absurdly low. I don't know about blood pressure. I had this cortisol feeling, and I thought my heart was pounding, but I have an apple watch that I use for keeping data on such things, and it's much less subjective than me. I...

    Ghost, Licorice

It honestly feels like anxiety of pre-PSSD, which is exciting. At the same time, I remember now why I took an SSRI. Anxiety BLOWS. It's interesting that you had it with Inositol, becuase Inositol has always soothed me. I remember last weekend that I was with a girl after my k+ anxiety...

I'm going to have to stop the trial at this point. Hopefully I got enough k+ days in. It's too close to final exams for me to keep having this anxiety. Licorice (and I think k+) really do increase anxiety, and I feel a bit out of control. I'll let people know how I feel after I settle back down.

Each day is a rollercoaster with anxiety still, but I have shifted to the back half of my trial. Magnesium helps a LOT with anxiety. I had a lot of cortisol feelings on the licorice, and I'm excited for that to start decreasing. I took my last dose of Licorice yesterday, and also my first dose...

Hey all. I'm working on a trial of Licorice. I have PSSD. I've been taking Ginkgo for a while now. Maybe 2 months. I think that it has been helping. Additionally, I take magnesium and fish oil every day. Last week I took Cream of Tartar for potassium, and before I crashed into high anxiety and...

    Barbaar, PSSD log

Return of anxiety usually happens when function is better. It's sad, but I'm just fighting one battle at a time. If I can figure out PSSD, then I'm on to the next battle: Mental Health. Likewise, if I treat mental health, I think I have a better chance of fighting PSSD.

Brainstorming & Ideas (PFS - Gbol)

I have tons more PSSD blood results that I'll dig out and put up here as well as a lot of Progesterone literature. I have written a few programs/algorithms that I used to analyze a lot of the PSSD data, but it's hard when people used different labs, with different drugs, and in different...

Brainstorming & Ideas (PFS - Gbol)

Glad you understand that also. I haven't been on here for more than a week so if you mentioned it before that I didn't see it. I hope I didn't offend you at all, I just question everything lol. You have to realize that I've talked to dozens of people claiming to have figured out PSSD since 2014...
