I was already running the minimum dose, 1 pill and still having reflux, so I dropped for 3 days...tht's the reason of my drop.

I wonder if it builds up in system over time. Does anyone have evidence of it? I feel like the more I take the less I need over time. Like the “excess betaine feeling” I get takes less and less as time goes on.

Maybe we are just “filling up the stomach acid tank” too much over time. Yea a few days off like that could be good or maybe just cut in half to like a pill every other meal. Or even half a pill per meal.

Try one or the other, not both at the same time. They should not have the same effects as MgCl2, their effects will be more similar to betaine HCl..

OK, I just started with lysine hcl. I did one capsule (500mg) with my meal. with betaine I had worked myself down (as I felt the heat in stomach) from 14 capsules to 5 capsules. If I'm replacing betaine with this then how much lysine can I take with each meal?

Start with 5g/day and move up to 10g/day if needed. Spread that out over meals.

@gbolduev i see you mention salt loading is important due to increased aldosterone. do you think PFS is simply a disease of too high aldosterone? have people tested it around here and gotten a reading? increased aldosterone will make you lose potassium and magnesium? maybe we are just hyper low in magnesium and potassium due to high aldosterone? why is it not this simple?

Don't touch that poison! I'm here after taking a low dose of accutane (10mg for 30 days) and am still struggling with the side effects 8 years later.

This is what I say here/ and said in the mechanism of PFS. Salt loading should be tried.

@wuf if you have signs that you need more acid and cannot stand it, take aloe or anything that can help your stomach lining! Also olive leaf is good if H. pylori for example. I would go for bitteres and salt, and take care of stomach and gut lining. Malva is also a good plant for this. mucilage...

My skin is still oily(but has reduced severity, and acne massively reduced) the best improvements for me: very long fast, balancing approach(electrolytes/aminos/HCl) from hairtest results.

Manganese(prolactin) has always made my skin more oily, manganese is increased by Potassium and Copper, and lowered by; Iron, Zinc, Chromium and Magnesium.

Do you have a hairtest? or tried fasting?

Appears to me that oiliness is a imbalance of minerals = hormonal imbalance.

What about Sodium level, Zinc? Are you doing HCl with chlorides; salt and potassium/magnesium? Eating low calcium foods? Have you though about fasting?

Salt loading could be tested, it seems to be helping me.

@Orion, any insight with high phosphorous? My phospohorous is very high.

Iron and Manganese can make P go up, and Calcium, Zn, and Magnesium reduce it.

Absorption
- sodium, potassium, low calcium diet, vitamin D, parathyroid hormone, high fat diet

Symptoms Associated With A Phosphorus Excess
anemia (iron deficiency) hyper-excitability arthritis irritability calcium and magnesium deficiency tremors diarrhea zinc deficiency

-An elevated phosphorus level is frequently indicative of excessive protein breakdown of body tissues. As proteins break down, phosphorus is released.

So protein wasting hair loss could be related.
