Yeah, I think that type of marketing actually starts to degrade it's legitimacy after a while.

Given this: There's a way (common, search SodaStream hack*) to refill a SodaStream C02 tank with C02 from a less expensive source than by exchanging the SodaStream (brand) bottles. You can also add a different attachment to run your SodaStream from a standard C02 tank (CGA.)

Then: What happens when you charge water with hydrogen rather than C02? I'd like to see someone test this for ppm of hydrogen--someone who has access to good testing equipment.

I get that hydrogen will leak out faster than C02 if it's in a plastic container. I'd think that transferring to a cheap aluminum pop or beer can that has a screw-down cap would improve storage life.

Also:

Given that: C02 charged water is acidic.
What happens if you just add some magnesium oxide powder (common supplement available in bulk) to the bottle, add water, charge with C02 and cap. Is hydrogen produced? Or put a magnesium rod in before charging?

I don't have the testing equipment. I also don't trust the reagent method, or at least don't trust that (even with instructions) I understand how to properly use a reagent.

How effective would it be to generate the hydrogen gas and inject it subcutaneously? It would fill the subcutaneous space and slowly diffuse into the body tissues through the bloodstream.

Already threw this idea around earlier, but after extensive internet searches, it seems the threads of a soda stream nozzle don't match those of hydrogen tanks for industrial use. And I wasn't able to find any kind of adapter that would work either. It's almost like they don't want us using pressurized hydrogen for personal experiments... Go figure lol

I guess it's still possible with a custom machined adapter, but it just gets to be too much of a pain in the ass at that point.

Sorry, but I didn't hear more stupid idea for the last year or so. :D Hydrogen is the smallest molecule in the universe(probably) It can go through all tissues. Why in the hell you would inject hydrogen into your body, when you can just drink the water and the water from the stomach/intestine will go to every tissue???

@Allen Can you please complicate things even more? You need PET bottle from coca cola, citric acid, elemental magnesium rod and urine test tube or any kind of test tube (glass or plastic with the lid that will fit into the hole of coca cola PET bottle) How hard is that? This is the process like chemistry class for 8 yo kids.. It can't be any more simple and the result is better than 1000$ machines. + the pressure from the process can easily burst (if you add to much acid) even 500ml coca cola PET bottle. Which can hold like 10 times more pressure than beer bottle. Good luck with exploded glass into every direction... LOL

Then you shake the bottle for 1 minute and you will have very high concentration of hydrogen.. We will test ppm very soon with blue drops.. Btw I have cold hands and feet after I drink like 300ml. I don't know why..

Obviously you are doing something wrong. A lot of people around me tried the water and nobody says anything about some bad smell. You are using some weird looking tube. Pet bottle can be old? Also the malic acid can do some weird shit. I don't know. Use new urine test tube, new coca cola PET bottle and citric acid. You can buy it in every store it is cheap as fuck..

Now its "obvious" ?
Tube is glass, so it wont make any problems.
Plastic bottle is new.
And mg rod is supposed 99,97% and as you said its not as important as it will stay inside and only hydogen will come out.
Maybe its the sulfur from water? Maybe I try with just tap water.

But I have another rod on the way testing in some days.
