i found some interesting info on ella
"
Ulipristal acetate is a derivative of 19-norprogesterone. The half-life after oral intake is 32 h; it binds to plasma proteins for 97–99%, and it is metabolized by the citochrome P450 (Gemzell-Danielsson et al., 2013a).
Ulipristal acetate depending on the location, the presence of coactivators or coinhibitors of gene expression, and the serum levels of progesterone may exert actions of an agonist or antagonist of progesterone.
The binding capacity to glucocorticoid and androgen receptors is lower than its antiprogestin activity: UPA shows in vivo antiglucocorticoid and antiandrogen activity only at doses 50-fold higher than those needed for antiprogestin effect"
Mechanism of Action of Ulipristal Acetate for Emergency Contraception: A Systematic Review
its a 19 norprogesterone derivative
"Similarly to progesterone, 19-norprogesterone is a potent progestogen and possesses high affinity for the mineralocorticoid receptor (MR).[8] However, unlike progesterone, which is an antagonist of the MR, 19-norprogesterone acts as a partial agonist of the MR and produces mineralocorticoid effects such as sodium retention, polydipsia, and hypertension in animals.[8] Like progesterone, 19-norprogesterone is very active as a progestogen parenterally but is only minimally active orally.[8] A SAR study found that 19-norprogesterone had 47% of the affinity of aldosterone for the rat MR "

so ella is a 19nor progesterone that does actually bind and partially activate MR like aldosterone. licorice is said to do something very similar. i wonder if those who respond well to licorice have a greater chance of this helping. the sodium retention would help explain some effects ppl have and the increase in estrogen.
ella also binds to GR and AR like mifepristone but with radically less affinity. one must take 1500mg of this stuff to show signs of being an anticortisol or antiandrogen while 50mg of mifepristone will start to bind to androgens and glucorticorid receptors.
licorice and ella are similar in their effect on blood pressure and aldosterone MR like activation.
this stuff is super interesting and i wish there were more publications on it especially in men, but unlike mifepristone i cant find anything with men involved with the trials.
little does big pharma know, but they may have accidentally lead us to a potential cure for PFS. now if only we had studies to help determine what the best hornonal prifile would make this stuff work just right. the level of prog in the body will help determine how the medicine acts on a receptor similarly to mifepristone. i wish everyone who has taken ella got progesterone checked before taking it! would really give massive insight to this question.
5mg of this should have no affect on androgens nor GR, but a decent and noticable effect on MR especially considering the 30 hour half life.
could EOD be better dosing? is ED better so that it builds? do we want it to build?
so many questions.
i think anyone on here considering ella PLEASE GET PROG TESTED RIGHT BEFORE! lol if you respond well then we know what effect it has in the presence of x.xx ng of progesterone.
good shit tho!
what do you guys think?

i have some ella on the way, two 30mg pills, will need to do bloods first. i have responded incredibly well to licorice root which has super similar effects on MR as ella minus the progesterone activity
