Keto= fad diet. Internet bloggers making killings off selling mct oil and bulletproof coffee via the gullible masses.)))

But this is just like paying 5000 for water fasting or doing it yourself. --true what you're saying tho. ANd like always, I maintain it's just a tool, like any other (keto) + YMMV.
Paying 200 a year for diet and exercise tips (like intermittent fasting) and similar tips, versus doing it yourself.
You could do keto, buying zero other products.

Most bloggers aren't exactly making a ton of money. Outside of internet whores, and early adopters. And those that can teach/explain concepts well/ capitalize on social media, etc.

I agree many do use it because it is a "fad" diet. But I highly doubt one thing matches every person. Obviously, it doesn't. A person can be fitter/healthier than most in a variety of different ways, but that's because of training, and tweaking things.

Just like there's diminishing returns for everything. After losing like 80lb, just "eating healthy" isn't gonna take a person from 18 % bf to 10. things need to be tweaked.
Water fasting at 110lb 6'5 may kill a person. That same person, may need to get to say 140lb to actually fast. Timing is key for much of life.

I heard about keto (or things like it), IF/ way before I heard of the books/blogs.
Obviously, people want the easy way out. But ascribing that notion to a group as a whole, doesn't make it so for every single person using it.
It does not logically follow.

Also one could argue there are few if any completely new ideas/ inventions, rather only modifications/interpretations/different uses exist.
I will not make that argument, I only offer that one could make that argument. I'm just saying not everything in life is part of an elaborate hoax/conspiracy.
