Happy to see the forum back

I only found out by accident that we're back in business, even if an older backup. I hope that the return of the forum is promoted enough to reach many of the users.

    Allergies, dermarollers, and viruses

Throughout my struggle with hairloss, fin use, and PFS, my allergies have seemed to vary depending on my condition. Seasonal allergies started for me in my late teens around the same time that my hair loss took off. Interestingly after beginning fin, and stopping my hairloss (while otherwise...

Acne, Sardines, and other musings from a hopeful mid-recovery

Cystic Acne Early on in my usage of fin, it didn't seem to work right away. I had a significant breakout of cystic type acne on my back, and some deep under skin cysts on my face (also some bad allergies). This continued over a painful summer (until I tried accutane to deal with it, FML)...

    Health Focused Wearables

Have either of you found a wearable that was more health focused than fitness focused that you have found useful in monitoring how well your treatments are working? I'm quite interested in getting a good one, as a smart scale alone has been a nice addition. I'm less concerned about budget if...

I don't think this will end well: Progestin and testosterone male birth control

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. government scientists will test an experimental birth control method for men, which would be a major advance in contraception and bring more equality to a family planning burden borne largely by women. The study is being conducted by the National Institutes of Health and...

    TEI for Thyroid Problems

My father has been on thyroid meds for almost two decades after some health challenges when he was younger. I'd like to try to get him off this stuff. Might TEI be helpful for someone already on the meds? Would it make sense to be doing the balancing while still taking them?

    Effective Weight Loss with PFS

What diets or approaches have you guys taken to combat weight gain while dealing with PFS? I seem to continue to struggle with liver / pancreas issues (given digestive issues and yellow stools), as well as spiked cholesterol levels, and a sense that I have thick blood. I have been doing a keto...

High Triglycerides and Total Cholesterol / Digestive Issues... Bile Salts and Glutathione Supplements Not Working.

I started to see a trend towards higher than normal in each of the above two around the beginning of 2017. I was also diagnosed with h pylori in this timeframe. This may have been connected to me starting Ray Peat around this time as well. I have subsequently been treated and eradicated the h...

Continuous Heal's PFS Log & messed up DUTCH test (Now featuring hair test)

In summary, I appear to have high estrogens, low testosterone, a relatively well balanced 5-A /5-B activity, low free cortisol, but high cortisol metabolites. I would really appreciate other's takes on this data, and input on what type of PFS this might be.

My current state, and the vagueness of the word "libido"

In my continuing work on healing myself after stopping PFS following a crash in 2012, I've made great strides. The worst effects, including near total impotence, PTSD like symptoms, constant stress, and sleeplessness have all abated significantly. While these days I am essentially fully...

Why did I feel so good on Finasteride?

The below is a repost I made to the Ray Peat forum, which never really got a response. I'm hoping it will here. I've since learned a bit more, and it seems as if dosing with a progestin may have been the reason, before things started to go bad. However the era when Fin was making me feel good...

PFS & Stomach Acid / Gut Issues

I saw some discussion of low stomach acid in the zinc finger thread, and wanted to get some feedback from others. Through the course of my struggles with PFS and even dating into the time where I "successfully" used fin, I seem to have had issues with high acid, in that I would feel heartburn...

Low FSH, High DHEA-S, Low Vitamin D

My most consistent blood marker abnormalities throughout my struggle with PFS have been Low FSH, High DHEA-S, Low Vitamin D. I have been unable to connect this set of issues to Ray Peat's work, or anything I've found online in studies etc. Has anyone experienced similar?
