Don't do a surgery unless you are 100% convinced you need it. Unless it's like neurosurgery or emergency surgery.... and you have no choice obviously.
I used to run all the time - and was obsessed (probably still am) with being lean/ skinny or whatever --- and I had some knee not being straight issue, and I wore out cartilage. My mom and various aunts had knee replacement, I stopped a lot of pain, and also got a lot stronger with strength coaches/ sports rehab. It's been a long time since using those services, but I avoid problematic things as much as I can and will see them again... A great strength coach + sports rehab may help you. Most trainers = suck for sure... but I mean a GOOD one.
I have memory problems so buy orthotics (or inhalers or anything really outside of fun things) weeks to months later... bc I can't remember the stupid appointments... and I have other things to do, but training like I learned how has helped and doing less legs, but more top down or total body workouts and no real leg day but i can change it up and do that... I train legs 4-7x a week but I'll stop that ( a bit each day), and do it better once I see them again. You're young... Make sure you get other opinions. I don't know much about these joints and all, but I do know some people get surgeries they don't need because of some clown doctors and bad advice.
