There was something about a UFO deflecting a hellfire middle in the news a month or so ago. Now we have ‘drones’ all over Europe. No information is given as to what they were, just pinned them on Russia.

What do we think?

Focus on your life and what you can change if you don't want end up like all those crazy people who are 24/7 on social media following garbage content. Having said that thinking about universe and what is around us etc. is not a bad thing. I watch documentaries about it all the time. It helps me to not take everything so much seriously all the time. Because like Linkin Park is singing "in the end it doesn't even matter.." heh . I just have a lot of people who are on facebook 24/7 living in fantasy world coping with reality by consuming all kinds of garbage from the internet. It is fucking pathetic..

@ruprmurdoch In observable universe there is literally billions of billions of planets like ours probably and you think not single one of them has life on it? Seriously? lol

it is not about our planet only but whole system. without moon with certain parameters with certain distance from earth - no life in earth, the same story with sun and even other planets who interact with earth. no way it is repeatable though i would like it very much

@ruprmurdoch I don't think that you understand how big the universe is and how much planets as ours are there when you say stuff like " no way it is repeatable "
and I am talking only about observable universe. It could be that the observable universe is just some small space in much bigger universe.
Also there could be completely different forms of life that need completely different environment.
I understand why people like to think that out planet is the only one with life. Because they feel special. Same thing why so many people don't like the idea of evolution. Because they don't like the idea that we are like any other animal. Just little smarter..

@ruprmurdoch what kind of stupid question is that? You don't believe in evolution? You think that "god created us" I mean I can understand that somebody was believing in stuff like that 200 years ago when nobody knew anything about anything, but now with all the info we have about evolution. You have to be seriously ignorant to think evolution is not real LOL.
To answer your question yes bacteria was before any kind of more complex life forms so yes bacteria is our ancestor same with crocodiles. They were hear way before us.
In terms of mammals maybe the first one was something like Morganucodon. It looked like rat and obviously the first primates were the first looking more like humans look today. We are primates as well after all..

Just look at this dude. more than 95% of DNA the same as us

I can't believe that I will argue about evolution HERE on this forum. It is like bad dream. Really sad...

I loved this place because it was all about biochemistry and facts. Now I see more and more complete nonsense here about some believes that human created as coping mechanisms. It starts to be waste of time and energy like any other forum. Very unfortunate..

Probably just random occurance and we might have gotten "lucky" so to speak that we evolved faster from environment than other species so we could dominate.

Aliens, could be true. If it's true there's thousands, millions of planets then why not. It's fun to think about but never saw anything IRL that could resemble alien life. Until that time... I remain uninterested lol

Dude.. millions of planets? There is at least 700 quintillions of planets just in observable universe(what we can see) and we know there is more. Quntillion has 18 zeros. So you can compare it to million lol..
Just instead of netflix watch some documentaries about Universe sometimes. :) But it is depressing a lot. Because you really get that feeling how insignificant we are.. Like I said I think that is the main reason why people don't want to look at that reality and just find comfort in nonsense like religion..

I never thought humans were significant lol. Humanity looks more like how bacteria operate, they take over stuff overwhelm resources with reproduction replication, etc. I don't think humans are special at all. It's religion yes that feeds the belief we are magical beings. But of course always backed by violence because their belief is nonsense so people who believe in it get upset and violent (narcissistic injury) when they can't see they are just organisms and you don't agree with the magical thinking. Reason why christians, muslims, etc. they killed millions of people.

Most people's lives are in a way useless in the big picture. Even people who did a lot for the world so called it's nothing in the eyes of the system that humans come out of and are dominated by which is biological, replication, domination over environment and resources.

It simply doesn't care about 1 person. 1 Person is like 1 cell in an organism or a bacteria... it's nothing. And then add on top of that you can even add the theory of million planets. Even on Earth most of us don't matter in the long term big picture. Even some billionaires don't. Or whoever you think is "important".

Human nature is just like a bacteria and an animal. But we have comforts and ability to step aside from it to an extent but the system is still working underneath... 24/7, always. Even after you go to dust the machine of human nature does not care. It's all built. Incl. our emotions, anger, sadness, etc. to reproduce survive. It's not built for you to see true reality either. It's just a way for you succeed in the basic biological need. Even people helping each other often is. That's why it's useless endeavor.

But this also means freedom if you understand it. Who gives a shit about "soyciety" and people who try to drag you into their emotional tantrums about how the world should look. It's unimportant and will always be defeated in a long enough timeline.

That being said religions and other ways of coping with reality it can be nice. I miss it sometimes. To go back where I did not think the way I do now. I was happier in general. I try to find a balance in this way of thinking vs. becoming a full on nihilist lol

@RebelWithACause yes people who simply don't know and don't think much have easier life. For example now when I look at food. I don't think if it is tastz or whatever all I see is list of stuff that I know it contains. What is wrong with it etc.. Really not fun at all..
