I told about carnivory before but I don't have a post drug disorder, so when I saw this vid, I thought I would share!
Hey guys, I am still thinking about you and how I got out of Ray Peat diet!
(gosh, how difficult to not eat my oranges... not to mention mangos...)

And if you look at her face before her change of diet.... she really had bad acnea.
By the way, her former diet was not vegetarian at all, and she thinks that getting more animal fat was essential, and suppressing plants as well. About skin problems specifically, I think that what has been already said in the forum about carotenoids and vitamin A can apply. Vitamin A is not removed by the body as much as it is stocked up in your liver. (check Vit A difference between veel and beef liver...)

Strangely, all the white veggies I still use are all rich in sulfur, so sulfuration pathway seem to be also good to enhance...

An important point with lowering fibers, is to not irritate the gut in order to get motility, but get motility from the fat. Then your vagus nerve can help you tremendously better! Also is needed a good stomach acidity when you eat carnivore, and a better acidity in the stomach means a better digestion down the way.

Also note that high protein when you are low carb will NOT spike insuline at all. If you eat fish and rice, you might get the insuline roller coaster.

So you have all this, constantly adapted insuline levels, no irritation from fibers, a better acidity and thus digestion all the way up to down, and a vagus nerve that can work instead of being hijacked by the sympathetic system too often.

@Canari what do you mean with vagus nerve being hijacked by sympathetic system?

The vagus nerve is the main para-sympathetic system = rest and digest. You cannot activate your vagus for proper digestion and immune system, if your body is in fighting state, aka disease, irritation, inflamation...

Fibers accelerate transit by irritation Vs fat lubrification. This of course depends on our flora, but our flora is also influenced by the nervous state we are in. We also know that insuline and cortisol levels are related.

When you have CFS after EBV, (which is also something I shared but i did not know the symptom of EBV when I got it with this weird sorethroat.... ) it means that fighting the virus put the body in constant alert, until colapsing of fatigue. A body in alert, if constant, cannot live with the normal alternance between S and para-S, up and down of the life waves, the yin and yang. Then we need more rest than normal, are activated with very little trigger, have irregular energy... We can stay up but if we go down we tend to stay down, so we tend to not rest and push through cortisol...

So it seems to me that this diet allows for a rest of the body. Plants are good when our state of hormesis is good. They heal by stimulating, but what if we cannot stand this stimulation? Same for vitamine A, as it is also toxic, it means that its action is a form of hormesis for us, and a poison for microbes.

I am now doing less good now because I did not stay properly on the diet, as I have eaten some fruits and produce them and love them... Also this is a diet that needs a good liver to digest all this fat, and they never tell you about this issue... Some people are doing carnivore with not much fat, with or without eggs and dairies...

But it obviously worked well for this woman!
