Electrolyte Protocol for Improved Health

does anyone use magnesium chloride for sleep with success and makes them feel good?
I added 3 tsp MgCl powder to a little tub (50ml) of body butter as an experiment for topical use. I rub some on before bed, alternating different areas of my body each day. It makes me feel very drowsy after about 15 min or so. A word of warning though: it can sting if you have cuts, so avoid those areas. Also, my hands were becoming like sandpaper so now I use a glove to apply it. The stuff can be really drying to certain areas.

thought this would be good to link in case anyone was wondering about their stomach acid levels, a friend rec'd this test for stomach acid levels and I hadn't seen anyone discussing this before, so I thought I'd link, as that has been a focus point here.

you can test for low stomach acid a few ways. I just did the baking soda test and didn't burp at all, indicating possible low stomach acid. I'll repeat the next few days aswell. healthy stomach acid should create a burp in a few minutes.
additionally, they mention Betaine HCL and that if you can take these capsules and start feeling stomach distress during a high protein meal, then you have healthy stomach acid. however, if you can take these capsules and feel completely normal, it indicates low stomach acid. I think it says a lot that some of us have been taking like 30 of these fuckers a day at the start and feel very little, myself included. others have been more responsive, which actually might indicate that their stomach acid is better. They rec exactly what gbold has rec'd to get stomach acid back online, of course, just thought this would be another little thing people can do to gauge if their stomach acid/absorption is as screwed as we believe.

(copied over from private thread)Simple, At-Home Test for Low Stomach Acid | Hansa Center for Optimum Health

goes a bit more into stomach acid issues, talks about what's not getting absorbed, just like gbold has said, and it sort of adds things up in a simple manner. I've taken a lot of what gbold says as fact without being able to find a lot of literature on the more in depth stuff, but this is just more confirmation of why things are working for some people here, like myself. just took me over 15 minutes to actually have a reaction to baking soda, whereas a healthy person should burp within minutes. I know that's not conclusive, but it expalins a lot of my symptoms and possible deficiencies. I have felt like a completely new person these last couple months as I've started actually being able to digest things properly for what might be the first time in years.

Of course, no relax, no digest!

yup, I've been reading a lot up on this, lot of dots connected. another thing I just read which was really interesting, beeturia, when your urine/shit turns red after eating/drinking beets is a good indicator that your body isn't actually absorbing things well! @TubZy just remember you mentioning this, and I had it pretty severely. another good test for you people.

It wasn't ever made clear to me that the normal persons stomach will feel incredibly bad after eating B-hcl if your stomach acid is normal, but us taking such a ridiculous amount completely supports that our body just isn't actually breaking down and absorbing anything.

this is anecdotal, but I thought it was interesting that this guy has essentially all of the classic symptoms we are dealing with and cured himself with a stomach acid protocol:

lol I am part of the club....

AFTER? Just after?
i feel bad 4 hours after only...

It also seem that it is necesary to take the right amount of enzyme and balance with Bhcl.

if your stomach acid is at a normal, healthy level, b hcl will make your stomach burn and feel uncomfortable not long AFTER ONLY 1 OR 2 CAPS. I've been taking 10 and not feeling anything. a lot are reporting the same but I also see people saying that it gives them digestive issues off the bat. from your symptoms, I'd say you're probably hypochlorhydric as well canari. if there are people here that have stomach burning after only a couple caps, i'm guessing that you are not lumped in having the same problems as many of us here and might have a different issue altogether. who knows. but this is definitely what gbolds current protocol is getting at- our bodies aren't taking in anything and we're severely out of whack, for many reasons, one of them being that our digestive health is in a very bad state, another because of our habits, fin, etc etc. enzymes are also very much rec'd by people in the know about stomach acid issues, along with a few other helpful tips that i haven't seen being rec'd much.

a shot of ACV before meals helps with digestion a lot. seen mattyb talk a lot of ACV.

I thought I got my out of whack digestive issues under control months ago, turns out it's still not corrected, just improved. and I hope to continue improving it.

i'm sure this is why the immediate digestive/energy issues resolve after long periods of fasting. fasting helps with many things, but the healing of your digestive system will be one of the heavy hitters we will notice quickly. of course, digestive health coming back online will balance a lot of other things, just like has been suggested.

I'm certain this is why I've been having much more prolonged energy throughout my days these last few months. if your cfs symptoms don't improve with this protocol and everything else we should be doing to support digestive health, ie small meals, chew thoroughly, don't do anything that'll damage stomach, then you may have a different issue(s) causing the chronic fatigue, no matter what illness you have. (directing this at everyone.)

there are of course a lot of factors here, but this is one of the big ones that I've personally seen a lot of progress from that's why I'm making a big deal out of this. gbold, I know you've said most of this before, but it's important to put it many different ways, as it may be hard for some to fully understand, I know it is for me sometimes.

Why you didn't buy also their supplements and diet recommendations as advised by Gbold ? Gbold says to do the hair test to see what cofactors you are lacking, you are a slow oxidiser so i think manganese, selenium, zinc are recommended as well as an high protein diet, and b vitamins, andi of course all the other things like aminos, etc listed in the protocoll
But let's wait Gbold opinion

Why dont you move all this to a personal thread in the lab results forum?

So that we can keep a general topic about the protocol, that is more easy!

Yes it stings and burn.... you do not need the cream, because with just water you can also rub it on the skin, as this is exactly magnesium "oil"!
Then it is also easier to wash your hands from it.

who is not stressed these days?
The problem is not having stressor or be stressed, but to not go down when we come out of the stress situation, the lack of flexibility. Anyway that is a big part of having minerals working properly...

Yes, I tried the "magnesium oil". I'm too impatient to wait for it to dry lol. I prefer the cream - it just seems easier to rub it in and be done. It also seems less drying than the "oil" because it's in the lotion base. My skin can handle the same concentration of Mg better in the lotion. I wanted to mention another option for those trying to use it topically.

Yes but how will you do to look for it among all pages, in some time?
There is a section especially for hair test results, so I really think this section is useful.

WE need to keep in mind this theory also with high chloride in the cell theory stuck there. And NADPH is not allowed to go up. Since that will increases Allo and allo will modulate GABA a and gaba a will put more chloride in there.

By the way 5 htp does exactly the same thing @Ghost
Hi - quick question for everyone, I’ve been taking 5ht for about 3 years now everyday since suffering from PFS, I’m just catching up on some reading here and it seems this can cause PSSD is that correct? If this is correct should I stop taking it cold turkey or slowly come off it?
