Hi guys. I'm just wondering if I'm anyone has any advice about sorting histamine problems.

I was on Prozac for 4 years and i now understand that all SSRIs mess with histamine in a big way. Since the first year.on them I have had blocked sinuses/pressure.

I know there is a lot.out there regarding histamine intolerance and diet but thought I'd ask the forum for some advice because there is a lot knowledge here! I am considering low dosing loratadine but fear this may make the situation worse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A quote from gbol , he didn't mention it about PSSD but PFS/PAS/PSSD are very similar though, especially issue with prog;

This is the reason some of you crash after orgasms. POIS is high histamine and castration. since if progesterone has high receptors it lowers 3 beta hsd cofactors zinc, b6, nad, magnesium

This is why POIS and finasteride people, have problems with MAO, and acetaldehyde, cant drink alcohol. cant eat cheese, chocolate. End product of MAO is aldehyde, without NAD which is lost in progesterone dominance you cant break down aldehydes, B6 is also downregulated in progesterone dominance, and you get problems with DAO and histamines.

I've been having issues with histamine recently which I think is related to an overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine (itself the result of impaired bile flow, which would keep the bacteria under control)

One thing which definitely helps is a product called daosin which is basically the enzyme which breaks down histamine. Obviously not a cure, but can be a massive help until you get to the root cause!

You probably need more Vitamin D [1] and Magnesium [2].
Histamine's main problems come from its interaction with inflammatory factors...
Most of this is mediated by Histamine H4-receptors [3], although H1 plays a facilitating role as well [4].
SSRI's probably depleted your Vitamin D levels and, given they do indeed impact Histamine as a "crucial" mechanism, my guess would be
that...you have.
1.) Desensitized serotonin "autoreceptors" leading to "enhanced" central serotonin which then is activating 5-HT4-serotonin receptors to release Brain and body histamine.
2.) That you have, in addition, an inflammatory response caused by withdrawal from the SSRI, which of course leads to over-excitation and TNF-a excess.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input, will look into all of this
Pretty easy to deal with you just got to think smart and tailor it to your specific symptoms...in regards dosage, how severe you think they are and how long it has been going on. :)

What about vitamin C and amino acids like histidine? Also DAO and all cofactors like bioavailable copper.. Right now there is pollen everywhere and so far my symptoms are like 80% better with histidine and 15-20g of vitamin C..
edit - 1 hour bike ride in nature without glasses. Blooming plants, pollen everywhere. Basically zero mucus in the nose, no itching or redness in the eyes wow.. I always had crazy pollen allergies. I would have swollen eyes like after bee swarm attack. I still have here and there some sneezing or runny nose. But in terms of pollen allergy amazing..

Those would all help for sure. Take note though that histamine plays differential roles in chemical vs seasonal/pet allergies.
Seasonal/Pet allergies are associated with elevated histamine whereas drug/food allergies area associated with low histamine.

And what if I have both? I also remember allergies to dust, golf balls under the skin after mosquito bites etc.. :D I think I had low and also high histamine. It changes depending on micronutrients, fucked up hormones due to accutane/ steroids/ T4 etc..

yes.. Btw I had similar "detox" in head/tonsils area from vit C like from hydrogen water..

yeah. C supports glutathione.

So detox from hydrogen is over.? It lasted for me about a month. I also noticed that all my allergies totally disappeared on hydrogen. Before I would be allergic to dogs since childhood , it is gone. Amazing stuff.

Every time I drink 500 ml bottle I feel weird feeling in my head. I think it can be related to mercury from my amalgams. Shit I need that hair test..

It was when I started with like 10g of ascorbic acid with 5g of sodium bicarbonate mixed in water.. 3 times a day

30g ascorbic acid total? So that makes approx. 15g/day total sodium ascorbate? thanks

how it can be only 15g sodium ascorbate if it's made with 30g of ascorbic acid and 15g of sodium bicarbonate? It is still 30g of vitamin C, just combined with sodium or? :D

Btw the dosages for vit C are for each individual different. Some people can't tolerate even 5g a day. Some 100g no problem..

Ah yes, for some reason I though the reaction halved the ascorbic, thanks.

So 30g is the sweet spot for you? will you try higher doses?

Now I take like 5-8g 3x a day. When I will run out of calcium citrate I buy some calcium carbonate and make calcium ascorbate before bad. It is great form of calcium..
