Hey guys,

So I've tried fasoracetam on more than a few occasions, but never for more than a couple of days in a row. For me it's felt slightly stimulating, motivating, and anxiolytic. The MoA of fasoracetam isn't well understood, but it seems to be excitatory via modulation of glutamate, which over time can have the downstream effect of upregulating GABA. Has anyone taken faso consistently for at least a couple of weeks to see if it has any noticeable effects on GABA? Or does anyone have any insight into whether faso's excitatory glutamate modulation would cause issues for PFS? Throughout PFS gabergenics have been the only thing that have consistently helped with shrinkage and libido, but I've stayed well away from them for awhile so as not to downregulate.

Please share any experience and/or insights you may have with fasoracetam!

-Dude. Sup?
-Have you used Noopept, Phenylracetam, A-Gpc, Citocoline, and other stuff like those? Cholines can be "burned off" (eliminated people mean?, counteracted?), by: racetams.
-I've used some smart drugs (haha, too little too late), but: --> amps beat all.
--> however obviously amps are harsh. --> hell 94-99% coke beats all too, but it's highly addictive.
--> I may look into this.
--> Noopept = too weak for me, phenylracetam could be good... could be highly dangerous for mood disorders... could be ok for ADHD, I can't really tell. It's not bad.
--> Using 1-2 things max, is ideal I think.
---> A lot of people are on crazy stacks, but without proper evaluation of one thing at a time... It seems too risky.
---> It makes sense tho that gabergenics have helped with shrinkage and libido. If I wasn't so pissed off all the time, I'd go to the doc, and ask for some... but, I could just make money, and buy em myself... If I could sit down, and get things done, or go and get things done too. I don't like doing things "within" the system. ---> I'll prolly just get some.

-Also, @Niles. You may have read this?
-Also, did you use Nootropicsdepot.com (I think it is)...?
-In America, you have more options, in Canada it's hard to even buy Choline in this city, in bigger ones it's probably easier, but still: I'd order anyways to save money.

Yeah, I was a bit of a nootropics nerd before PFS lol. I've pretty much tried it all. I used to be choline dominant, so I never needed to pair a racetam with a choline source, but who knows, things may be changed in PFS state. I'm not as interested in faso for its general nootropic effects, just the potential GABA upregulation. Best to keep things as simple as possible in PFS, because there's no telling how a crazy nootropic stack would effect things.

-So they are dangerous at times right?
-I can kind of... (but who knows really with my notes) tell normal focus/intelligence/function with nothing vs. coffee.. vs. rx stims. vs. phenylpirecatam ... but... it also changes
up and down intraday also... so it's pretty difficult to track for me.

-I used to have notes from SolvePFS and a mod there, and some others said try: Xanax, or some other drugs to restore neurosteroids and things like GABA.
-I just think given previous severe reaction to ATIVAN, and obviously being scared off with PFS... that it didn't make sense.
-Healthier now, it could make sense... --> one xanax shouldn't kill me nor send me into mania or depression... but again, who really knows. --->keeping Lithium handy in case
-could alleviate that. It should.
-No alcohol like a year... it shouldn't cause a blackout. But again, can I know this for sure? probably, but ... it's still hard to make that decision.
-I do feel Gaba, gluthianone , and some other thing... bile, are things I need to work on. --> Beets or beet juice may help with a couple of those and liver/digestion function. (?)
-Lithium also affects Gaba and is a channel blocker... of various things.

Yeah, a lot of the more exotic nootropics out there can be dangerous since there's not even any human clinical data available in some cases, and even the well-researched ones can mess you up with chronic use. In the nootropics community they like to say, "there's no such thing as a free lunch", because if something makes you feel better than normal you're probably paying for it by getting depleted or downregulated.

Even with coffee you've gotta take breaks, or else you'll get burned out and it'll stop working for you.

-True true man. Economists love that saying too, lol. And you're definitely right. Cycling anything and microdoses seems legit (for the right things, and right person, right t.).
-Although I did megadose some TMO herbs for PCT... and they helped then. So megadosing some safe things at times is ok. BUT all day everyday = of course is bad.
-Another example would be VIT D which I did and I think you did megadose at times. And others of course on other forums, and here.
-Oh yeah, and no Noots are not on that "safe to megadose" list, nor are A.A.S. etc (which you know, wr for others in case). -Salt and spinach probably safe enough to megad.

I have tried a racetam while in PFS that also supposedly upregulates GABA receptors, but I used it in order to battle my phenibut withdraw symptoms at the time which obviously destroyed my gaba system further than what PFS already did. this was two years ago. I cant say it did anything to help me in fact it felt like it didn't do jack shit, but who knows. I didn't pair it with choline and im sure phenibut made me low in that as well, but hard to say.

- That makes sense.... They do "work" for me... the one's I've tried. Some too subtle, some make me more focused. Seemingly helps mood... but they're erratic.
- They are no panacea. For me. Can be for others, acc. to what I read online. Even those noot-fanatics, say cycle and take breaks, and don't use certain kinds.
- Lots seem sketchy af. Need a good supplier.
- Choline barbitarate was very bad for my stomach. Used 1-2x. Discarded.
- Parachuting and other Routes of Administration (R.O.A.'s) can increase efficacy (due to higher bioavailability). Still: it's hit and miss for many.
- And things that worked great, inexplainably no longer do, acc. to Longecity, Reddit/Nootropics, etc.
- Area likes: Mindforce or Brainforce, I can't get it in Canada so easily. I don't think I need it, might try it one day though.

I'm guessing it was probably fasoracetam? That's the only one I've heard of upregulating gaba. How long did you take it? The upregulation is supposed to take at least two weeks or so of daily use to kick in.

Same, the best I can say about most racetams is that they're "interesting". I occasionally got very good boosts in creativity and verbal fluidity with aniracetam, but for some reason it was really inconsistent. Phenylpiracetam is a great smooth stim, but tolerance builds incredibly fast... like after 3 days of use. Definitely interesting.

Brainforce has some decent ingredients in it, but Alpha Brain by Onnit is better all around (though ridiculously pricey). Plus I don't support infowars supps for ethical reasons lol.

-Definitley from what I read that makes sense, and yeah I feel that on Phenylpracetam so it might be good for some work, or a GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, etc...
- but career/life-long? Probably not. Unless using it 50-100x a d , tiny doses. I used like 5x this yr. Maybe helpful 4x. Good for creativty. I'm creative anyways tho, so is it
- actually useful, I don't know. I think mastery of dosing and timing and health needs to be there first.
-Dude is kind of a wackjob, haha.. INFOwars, haha.... now he's like Glenn Beck on METH. I liked the exposing of secret societies tho.

actually now that I think about it I was taking fasoracetom haha I don't know how long I took it, but I think it was for a few weeks. I had a micro scoop and dime bag of the stuff with me at all times and took a few little scoops of it like every few hours. I don't remember the dose exactly, but I wanna say it was like 5mg a scoop.
I would place the dose under my tongue for a bit and that's how I took it.

there was a point where I remember I finally felt good again, but it was super short lived and I think it was after taking it for a while. phenibut is no joke, bro haha

-It's good to keep the triplebeam and handheld weigh scales (digital scale nowadays), ziplocks handy, on person. But always keep the money, substances, and paraphernalia, separate.

Yeah, I've heard breaking a daily phenibut habit is no easy task. Back in the day I remember it felt like I was getting tolerance even on one 1g dose per week. I think I remember you saying you had a pretty hefty daily habit, right? I'm super impressed that you were able to get off it and be where you are now. A lot of people have their gaba fucked for life because of daily phenibut usage.

Anyways, who knows, maybe the faso did help you out.

hey maybe it did help! haha I worked up to 16g a day of that shit and I think my time using it amounted to about 2 months total. it made PFS seem like a walk in the park so I really had to switch to fixing that before fixing PFS. the year of 2016 was not a good year for me haha

Fucked for me also, same with 2008.

I quit everything cold turkey... believed it to be the only way. SNRI's... Fin, etc. Noots I barely used, but combined them with other things, potentially dangerous.
It's all different for ev1. Now that I think about it, yeah some noots have definitely caused psychosis and severe depression, messed up gaba, and other symptoms... for others (abusive doses, or "self medication"), probably also things like "Serotonin syndrome". - Mania, delusions also. Yeah sounds like stimulants or mdma and stuff... but
microdosing is key... and knowing wtf is wrong with an indv. user (easier said than done, but I think w/ research and practice, can be done most the time).

I think the GABA curve is a U shape. Too high levels of GABA do not work nor do levels that are too low.

So we could have high levels of GABA which maybe decreases number of receptors or GABA definitely which should increase number of receptors.

Or maybe a different combination. And that’s why the GABA system isn’t working high GABA and high receptors or low GABA low receptors. I don’t know just some thoughts.

But my GABA system is broken in my PFS state...no real reaction to alcohol or GABA modulators
