Dominance hierarchy appears throughout nature, but the problem today is that the hierarchy is becoming ever steeper, and has been for decades.
In society when you see that there are often catastrophic consequences.
Theres this great book called "The lessons of history" by Will Durant, you should check it out.
But yeah it kind of says the same thing, the wealth and resource collects in the hands of the few, then theres a huge revolution and lots of people die (but the weath is redistributed) and it kind of just cycles through. But these days we have things in place to prevent this, like welfare systems and minimum wages etc. So a big revolution with heaps of people dying is unlikely.
But yeah, when you're not on top of that dominance heiracrchy it can look bad and unfair. My cousin is an investment banker, working literally 80 hour + work weeks. He gets paid a tone, but he kind of earns it IMO. I don't want to work that hard, anyway. I'll let him have it. I have no desire to compete. I just like a crappy small income with lots of free time to exercise and research health stuff. I guess i'm lucky that ive been able to achieve the lifestyle i want. What really are peoples goals? Does everyone analyse themselves as much as me? My personality is INTJ using the myers briggs thing, and we're supposed to be good at long term planning. I guess i can't expect everyone else to analyse their life and what they want as much as me, then. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses, but maybe if people did, they would be more content with their lot. But this isn't to say that unfairness doesnt also exist in the world, it does. Perhaps maybe not as much as some people lead themselves to believe. Case by case basis i guess.
