gephyrin deficiency (can’t get drunk)

I found a cool sight that I wanted to quote here:

I discovered that part of the reason that gabaa receptors may malfunction in some cases is due to a malfunction with the gephyrin protein, which is a protein that helps concentrate and localize gabaa receptors into clusters, which allows them to effectively signal and function. Notably, gephyrin deficiency is implicated in alzheimers disease.

finasteride likewise induced some kind of gephyrin deficiency in us which in turn caused gaba receptor malfunctioning and all the things associated with it (non-responsiveness to alcohol, stiff muscles etc).

That being said, I have stumbled across a substance called dihydromyricetin. This supplement is typically used for hangover relief and treating alcoholism, but it also has the effect of increasing the production of gephyrin protein in the body as well. In fact, there is being research done to see if it can be used to treat alzheimers

End quote

I’ll edit this when I’m at a computer to give the blog post credit but wanted to get this posted as I notice my gaba receptors changing in recent months. I more social, alcohol seems to be leading me to feel tipsy & drunk and social. Still, I’ve always had stiff muscles but not debilitating so I won’t credit any fin or anything to that issue yet.

I’m reading a ton on this dhm supplement now too. Just want this posted so ppl can check it out.

Sounds interesting. There was definitely a period of time where I couldn’t even get a buzz from drinking. That is no longer the case though.

"Thus you feel drunk all the time, and feel no difference from alcohol"

Could explain the brainfog that people feel

many people feel cured from PFS upon withdrawal from alcohol.

In me finasteride was anti alcohol drug. I quit drinking alcohol totally when in PFS.

and before FIN , I drank like a fish ))

@joekool this drug is interesting, since if you read the Propeciahelp , many people have 2 different reactions to alcohol.

Some people become totally intolerant to alcohol in PFS. and others love it .

I would assume, that depending on oxidation rate. Fin effects either GABA receptor or AR. so in people where it affects AR more. gaba gets inhibited

and in people where it affects gaba more break down of DHT could be inhibited. or even 5AR.

@joekool Also proviron is a positive gaba modulator. that is why proviron high dosage was used as SSRI before.

Testosterone does what? kills progesterone and cortisol axis. thus you have lower allopregnenolone. and thus you can tolerate proviron now.

tonight I'll update and give credit to the poster but I'm also going to invite him here. He's experimenting regarding ARs too

Yes that matches the blog I found. I'll reach out to him to see if he'll join here

Joe, that guy is saying exactly what I am writing in this theory https://hackstasis.com/threads/pfs-gaba-ars-dht-testosterone-mechanism-of-pfs-continued.1456/

To fix PFS you need to get rid of ARs overexpression and fix gaba.

and depending on oxidation, you have one or another system impaired more.

So you use HDACs inhibitors or demethylating agents to basically downregulate AR expression.))

this is obivous and has been obvious. But that guy is doing it wrong.

Since you need to keep DHT high. not low, to downregulate AR overexpression.

and at the same time, you need to keep acetylation open, and demethylate the genes

Basically you need to keep AR strength very high. and at the same time feed DHT into it

so the body downregulates the density of the ARs in certain spots where DHT was present.

This is important since ARs are not overexpressed in areas where testosterone is. and lowering density of all ARs everywhere is not good IMO

Need to lower density only where DHT is.

I wonder how people would do on NADPH oxidase inhbitors. since they do exact opposite to what fin does

since IMO, NADPH oxidase is the thing that totally stops eNOS in people with PFS. and lack of eNOS is PFS

Hey all, I'm finally at my computer. The cool site I found was this:

Cure PFS and Accutane Side Effects

As I've stated and it sounds like others are on board too, the AR is where a lot of the issue is. My cycle & restart (btw, approx 20 days away from completion) is based on this theory and this blog poster is using Saw Palmetto (Whole Berry he specifies) in his experiments and is seeing results. As I've theorized but never recommended, going back on FIN or a 5AR blocker COULD (if my theory is right) fix us but it'd be extremely risky.

Still, I've invited him here so I'm hoping he joins and we can share. I think we're SO close to the cure... BTW, I'm feeling VERY good. Had some late day after work libido and the pheromone smell from my genitals (I know, sounds gross but it's not a sweat smell, it's a these boys are working smell)

Anyways, I'm feeling very positive today...

Joe, I think you are confused, he is saying exact opposite to what you are were saying. His theory is almost identical to what I posted . He is saying that ARs are overexpressed LOL

And also none of these experiments with saw palmetto worked)) he is still sick with PFS with zero libido , a year later after these posts and experiments

I have no idea why you dont get that people feel better when they inhibit DHT when it is high)) WHILE on the substance which is inhibiting this action

Anavar does that, proviron does this. etc, fin does this, duta.

When they get off, nothing happens.

This guy was trying saw palmetto route for his PFS for almost a year. trying to lower DHT. and keep it lower and it did NOTHING for him.

Also I dont understand why you talk about being close to a cure, if people already got cured, using same method over and over and over again.

What are examples of these NADPH oxidase inhibitors and has anyone tried one?

I think there's a ton of promise with anavar and it's effects on up regulation of ARs. If you combine that with something for Gaba like this pill DHM or subulthiamine, there might be a nice synergy for both sexual and neurological issues. We've seen anavar help a lot already.
