Upregulated GR( cortisol) receptor theory

If you can explain/find a permanent solution to the mechanism as to why Cypro truly does miracles for me, I will personally send you money. It cures me from PSSD, it gives me pumps back in the gym, I feel Amazing.
The question is, how can this be permanent and what is the mechanisms?!?!
Right now I am using cypro like once a week, and it keeps me good. But eventually about a week-10 days later I go back to NUMB state.

Hey @Helen ,

I would love to learn more about the glucocorticoid theory you came up with regarding Cypro usage.

It literally works is like clockwork... 3-4 days after a single 1mg dose, and I am literally CURED. I feel extremely good.
I really want to know how/why it works for me when it wears off.

Is there another way of "mimicking" what cypro does?

If you dont find your silver bullet, look into cdnuts protocol, it made a lot of guys feel very good.

@Helen

I am so sorry to be bothering you, but I am on the brink of CURE, if I can understand exactly why the rebound CYPRO works for me... Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

This is ciproflaxin, right? Yes there are a few temporary recoveries with antibiotics I've read and at least one permanent. I'm torn between trying metronidazole and/or amoxicillin + paromomycin myself too, after that curezone post.

I'll wait for Helen's pondering. As we're also currently considering bacteria etc this could be a big piece...

If I'm not wrong Helen said it

If I'm not wrong I remember Helen said cypro plays with cortisol.
And if what I just said it is right, it reminds me a story on swolesource about a guy who cycled liquirice and had a lot of swings till he got cured

@wuf

That guy from swolesource, Champstar, came back about a year ago to say that licorice might not have been so good in his case after all, and recommended to stick with the protocol

That's what he thought, but you know...once people has recovered it is easy to talk...
I wouldn't bet it was not a factor that helped, since he was not the only one reporting improvements from it.

Cypro I am referring to Cyproheptadine.

Any chance it's a returning surge of histamine/histidine or similar? Have you ever supplemented that? I'm no expert on any of this ofc, but someone did claim recovery after supplementing that: Longtime Lurker....I have recovered...after 7 years!!

Does any other antihistamine do it for you?

EDIT - ALSO Wikipedia (of all places) has many tidbits including the following:
@Helen @Boris you have any thoughts? I shouldn't attempt thoughts!

I’ve been big on the whole cortisol gr theory since I got damaged by lexapro. Mainly because during lex and some time after my cortisol was super high. The biggest successes I’ve had were when playing around with dexa or prednisone. All symptoms were completely cured for me for one week after a cortisone injection. My unbudgeable weight melted off, immune system started to regulate, energy and emotions came back.
I’m really interested in Cortene because of this, would love to hear anyone’s thoughts I think I made a post over on PSSD forum. A few of us are working on getting a trial going with the drug.
Isn’t it true, correct me if I’m wrong-as soon as one pill of ssri is taken, cortisol doubles. Any rise in serotonin and cortisol raises to match.

@Helen what would you say is a good way to illicit a more parasympathetic mode of existense? I think a lot of us here are fight/flight mode. I know my cortisol is typicall sky high and I am personally most comfortable in that mode but need to learn to relax. thoughts on ashwagandha? I know you're not a huge fan of marijuana but it does definitely aid in going parasympathetic. I smoked weed about 3 times past 6 months and I got very nice uninteruppted sleep (though they say you get less REM sleep on it). Ziziphus increases rem for sure and I'll use it twice a week when I have and I find the sleep to be particularly anabolic.

I use phenibut twice a week for sleep and I find it's almost like super sleep I'll get like an extra sleep cycle from it. to me it's a performance enhancer.

before I got pfs I used 7.5 grams of ashwanghda power DAILY. tastes like ass and not super down to do that routine again but to be honest I think chronic adminstration did actually work! it has a really strong calming effect and even when taken chronically it still has an effect over nothing. I remember when I cut it cold turkey I also felt like ass and libido was low! I'm a huge coffee guy so my rationalization was too offset the caffeine effect.

if I don't drink coffee in the morning I feel terrible even if I cycle off for 3 months which suggests heavy adrenal fatigue. I'm not in the place in my life where I can just write off a year or two or recover though without coffee or stims. I will try to be more conscious though and do it in a sustainable way.

OKAY:

I have FINALLY figured this shit out.

So what I have done, is embarked on Licorice Tea (I know you're all going to say it lowers Test and is highly estrogenic),

BUT...

It MIMICS what Cyproheptadine does to me on the withdrawal.... SO I assume my issue really is LOW CORTISOL/Aldosterone.... Because how the F*** can licorice help as much as Cypro does, 3 days later....Maybe my issue all along is cortisol/aldosterone?

The way I can tell is very obvious.

It's all got to do with PUMPS in the gym, and also PSSD symptoms. For example, after having licorice tea I have PUMPS again in the gym, can hold water/salt, and am not pissing like crazy. All my emotions are back online, I can FEEL things again. All the exact same feelings as when I get that rebound from cypro 3 days after a single dose.

So surely there's something else that can INCREASE my aldosterone like licorice?! Surely there is another herb or way to RAISE aldosterone without using licorice?!!?

licorice kills aldosterone, it raises cortisol. by killing the enzyme which breaks it down. but cortisol does activate aldosterone receptor

you are PSSD, of course cortisol is low in you. since we already saw PSSD people with low ACTH and low cortisol.

and progesterone is high in PSSD wasting your sodium. look at barbaar tests

The licorice readlly does make me feel extremely strong in the gym again... Today I felt like I could actually drink and RETAIN water, usually im pissing like a mad man. So It definitely helps me hold fluids and improve my muscular contractions.

ZINC is one of the worst fkn supplements for me... it kills my energy, makes me anhedonic and blunts emotions. I feel weaker on it.
