Feeling like I could right a book. I am not very good at being concise, so will try my best.

Anyway I am a 51 year old female.

Past.
Depression, Paroxetine for 18 months.
reactions to contraceptive pills made depression worse. Now manage it pretty well with cognitive stuff and talking myself out of it.
PMS fluid retention
Weight gain over years especially with pregnancies. gallbladder out 20 years ago.

Last 12 years
Children with disabilities, constant low grade stress to occasional high period of stress.

3 years ago bedridden with extreme fatigue for 3 weeks.
Did 30 elimination diet got me from bedridden to being able to stand for 30 mins and improved from there.
Muscle aches and joint pain. Supposedly diagnosed with Rheumatic disease but not really confirmed.
Present, Muscle pain, and joint pain but low grade. Livable without painkillers. However if I knock myself pain level goes through the roof.
Obesity, BMI of 54, metabolic syndrome. Anxiety at times. Able to manage about 2 hours of housework on a good day but will then not be able to do much the next day.
Gut issues, hair dryness and loss. Blood pressure fluctuations from 150/100 to 110/60 before always 110/60. Exercise increases anxiety so am sedentary. libido is nil, nada, kaputt. ? Chronic mono.

Have tried keto diet and paleo diet all of which sent my anxiety through the roof could only manage a couple of weeks before it was too uncomfortable to carry on. Just started slow oxidiser diet today but concerned as I have had 3 meals and still have 900cals to go to reach maintenance level. Too low and fatigue increases and anxiety kicks in.
Had HMTA done but is with the Dr have to get it back but think I was slow oxidiser 2 Cal and Mag were high, Sodium and potassium low. Potassium was 1 from memory. I think Cal was about 144. Copper was high normal and copper was high in blood serum. Will have to get them back to have a look. Ferritin was 30 but Hb OK.

Food intolerances
Wheat, Dairy except butter I can get away with. Teff extreme reaction, heart palpitations itchiness.
Cannot tolerate aspirin, paracentamol (tylenol) or any NSAIDS.

Currently under a functional medicine Dr but think she is new to this as I seem to know more than her, but useful for bloods waiting on Thyroid antibody results,
Taking.
Kelp
Selenium yeast
Digestive enzymes porcine cannot tolerate betaine or papain
malic acid (seems to have helped with muscle fatigue)
ox bile when have fatty foods
Vitamin C 1500mg of wholefood source.
Vitamin E
Bee pollen
Chicken liver pate once a week. Zinc copper ratio is 8/1
Told to take
Vitamin D 5000IU but my vit D is 50, Dr wanted to get it to 100 which some sites say is toxic so a bit wary of it.

After reading recently think this is something to do with copper. Probably have some kind of autoimmune as well. Would love to have enough energy to keep up with the housework.
Came here basically to try an work out this complex puzzle. Hope you all can help some.

How did you found out about this forum?

I have same heart beat as you, but do not think it comes from being sedentary! It means para-sympathetic dominance. Sympathetic activity is what drive up the pulse. At emotional level, you might be more prone to depression than anxiety. anxious people are more prone to high pulse, at least when they feel the anxiety.

I am thin and active, it took me more than 1 year to come back from bed ridden and then start to walk with the help of somebody's arm...

Have you done a hair test? What tests do they do in functional medicine?

yes right, I agree it would be useful! but the title of the link can make think it is about loosing weight and it is not, it is allowing the body to reorganize what is needed and trust the inner wise for it. And, it is much better to start with regular short fasts, so that the body knows what it is, and thus escape the possible survival threat response. If the body knows that fasting is giving her a chance, and with trust that feeding back will occur, then is is more quiet. The main effect is about resetting receptors like cortisol and other hormones.

Of course, for pathogens and digestive issues, it will also do great....

Thanks for the welcome Canari and Nina. How did I find out about this forum I was googling hair mineral tests and slow oxidiser dieting and came across it. Mostly because I am struggling to get enough calories on it. Must admit almost did not join because of the Macho guys as I thought it might be a men only forum, but then read in the suggestions and the specificity thread, about what it was about. May I make a suggestion that there be some kind of intro that tells what this forum is about say a "read this first" kind of thing. Agree with you Canari about the para-sympathetic, I wonder if the anxiety is cortisol based. I had a long period of time when I was under extreme stress and find that I just don't have the resilience anymore. Interesting about the fasting I have just watched the video on fasting that orion posted. I did do fasting several years ago and wondered if it actually contributed to my slow metabolism. I completed a 30 day water fast but I think did not do enough detoxing with it and did not end the fast properly. I have tried in the last few years a few times but my liver really hurt doing it. Hopefully I can work that out, so I can again. Perhaps @gbloduev can help me with it. I need to lose 150lbs for a start.

I think it was almost starting at the beginning, there is such a topic somewhere, almost sure... and then people are more focused on their more urgent tasks to fix themselves, and the forum is still in evolution, you do not know how nice it is compared to the baby stage! Dark wet and wrinkled.... now baby is smiling!
You can get some help, and mainly support and ways to forge your understanding. If step by step existed... then we would know it already!

Corner stone there.... fast, detox, liver detox and come out good.
I have tried in the last few years a few times but my liver really hurt doing it.
Important point to figure out....

Agree with you Canari about the para-sympathetic, I wonder if the anxiety is cortisol based. I had a long period of time when I was under extreme stress and find that I just don't have the resilience anymore.
You can read all I posted in the Sleep & Stress Reduction

The autonomic system triggers hormones, but it is nervous = electric...
Yes health issues always reduce resilience, which is the electric capacity to contain, as a container, the waves going up and down at our electric level! You need a bigger pan to not let the boiling milk go off... Resilience is just to have a big saucepan.... And this we build at the felt-sense level, because it is physiologic. Cortex brain has thoughts/words. Limbic brain has emotions. Autonomic brain has felt sense. These are our 3 languages and each of the 3 levels shows the other 2. One is less conscious than the other 2....

Have stopped the zinc supplementation and did not do well on the slow oxidiser diet yesterday. Yesterday did 9 cups of steamed veg a lb of protein and about 3tbsp of fat, ended up last night eating a banana wich helped me to sleep. Had really bad liver pain last night less so this morning as well as a sore gut. My sore gut is probably from eating some gluten free sunflower seed and chia seed bread, apparently Chia can inflammatory.

In any case since starting zinc 25mg a day with co factors about 3 days ago. I have experienced extreme mood swings going from seething anger to crying in a matter of minutes and feelings of hopelessness thinking "beam me up Scotty" or "somebody shoot me an put me out of my misery". Going to drop back seems with me I have to go low and slow and with other relying on me I need to be at a reasonable level of function. I have found I cannot increase other minerals without some kind of reaction I am taking one kelp tablet a day and if I increase to two I get a break out of acne whoever said it was just a teenage thing got that wrong LOL.

I was reading @gbolduev thread on the zinc finger especially about histadine, and how low stomach acid can cause low histadine, and how histadine is needed to make stomach acid so a catch 22 situation. Also what interested me was histadine's roll in detoxifying heavy metals and also it's effects on female libido. If I have low histadine as it seems possible, inability to digest proteins not able to fast, feeling too toxic so I am wondering whether a histadine supplement may be in order. At present I rely on daily coffee enemas to aid detoxification plus they are great for pain relief before doing this I felt clogged up. Have to put my HTMA up when I get it back.
@Canari read your thing on stress reduction letting go at the moment finding prayer and meditation helpful but didn't help much with the mood symptoms last night. I think I moved too much copper into the bloodstream causing the irritability and anger symptoms and feelings of hopelessness. I would really like to fast again but think I have to address some issues before I can do safely.

No never, I am waiting to see if I have thyroid antibodies, have had problems with heat and cold intolerance and low body temps before taking selenium and kelp. Dr's always did thyroid bloods but everything said it was fine. Have not had the best time with Dr's usually they look at me, see I am obese and send me off for another sugar test instead of dealing with my current problems except for this latest one, although she is more looking at the gut microbiome. She told me to take Zinc to combat copper but I am realising that mobilising copper is not a good idea if you cannot detox it out which is where I seem to be at present. I am now considering pureeing my food to help with pre-digestion perhaps this is a step before considering supplementation with amino acids.
