Badger's Story (Any advice would be greatly appreciated).

Hi all,

I am a 25 Year old male who took Minox for a couple of months in early 2016. I believe after discontinuing I have similar symptoms to PFS.

- No morning wood
- Inconsistent Libido
- Smaller testicles
-Brain Fog

All of the mental issues have now subsided but I am still failing to achieve consistent morning erections. I have experimented with things and have found that Zinc is the most effective at providing solid erections. Also with viagra everything works fine but I'd rather not take PDE5 inhibitors for the rest of my life!

I live a healthy lifestyle (play football twice a week and have no problems lifting weights and gaining muscle).

I wondered if anyone could point me to a helpful protocol for purely sexual issues. I have also taken Caber which definitely improves things from a libido perspective. My prolactin was high from a blood test I did at some point last year.

The thing that confuses me with Minox is whether I should be trying to tackle this from a 5AR perspective or from a different angle given that the drug is different to Fin. Could the Minox issue be more NO related than with Fin users?

Methods i am currently considering are:

- R-Andro cycle (Androsterone)
- Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
-Water Fasting
-Electrolyte Balancing (as mentioned in these forums).

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I think this forum is great.

Minox looks more and more like a culprit in the severity of the pfs I’ve gone on to develop. Thinking about it, I rarely had morning wood during the nearly three years I used minoxidil and my libido lowered. I’ve only recently learned that’s it’s an anti-androgen.

-For sure minox sides scared me... as I read on realself and others, facial changes this and that.... but process to heal that and this... mostly same. All the same pretty much, I mean for PSSD too... now at healthier states, I think we can all do TEI/ARL (or even as a starting point).
-Minox itself did hurt me 1 day 2012 and 30-50 days 2016 but it was pretty much pfs.
-Not to say MINOX fx cannot possibly be worse than FIN fx for some other person, I'm sure they can.

These 2 +/- Randro and electrolytes can fix it I'm sure.

-From Opening Post:
-"Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
-Water Fasting"

ya know, man the same stuff that works for PFS could very well help for you. dht reducing effects of both could result in the same receptor dysfuction.

also, man non-activated vitamin b6 works wonders for prolactin like its shocking..

Friends of mine without hairloss started using minoxidil for beard growth. Both of them their face looks unhealthy. One of them got a hamster face, probably caused by lower androgens. I also had this. And other one has dark circles in his eyes.

You can see it has an androgen lowering effect in the face. He looks more baby face now. It is really strange. Probably from holding more water.

For me my face has improved tremendously since recovering and stopping minoxidil. I looked back at old pictures (before touching finasteride and minoxidil) and I look very much the same. I think I did do some damage but nothing noticeable on the naked eye.

Try the nitric oxide protocol posted by @tallglass13

Man I'd rather pour vdka/cc on my face than that minoxidil poison. Made my nazi scientists, after WW2, they emigrated to the States. The truth is out there.
Hamster face?? --> sounds dangerous. I know what you mean tho.
Excellent Improvements Rebel!!

Don't fret though Badger. I threw away all me bed sheets and pillow cases (and later pillows and bed) that touched Minox.
Burned down the apartment too.

Facial changes could be AR, Cortisol, maybe GR... and also insensitivity/hypersensitivity? or over expression of AR.... maybe. Fat loss around eyes, or face, under neck...
and for some "moon face", like with prednisone or some steroidal medication. It could be a LOT of different things, I believe. All or nearly all reversible for many.

The brief usage 6yrs ago did nothing but increase hair where I didn't want it, and also bad libido, ed for 1 day.
