Awesome :)

I'm like 99% sure I have basically no stomach acid. I can take stupid amounts of betaine HCl without getting any burning and if I get a little bit of reflux sometimes it's not acidic at all. So I'm pretty sure you're also right about that.

yeah, and if you take HCL you might feel worse , since you could be stuck in resp acidosis. YOu see I was taking about alkalosis , usually alkalosis and resp acidosis are together. SO which one is primary who knows.

this is why if you take hydrogen, you will force the body to get rid of acetylcholine. And if you take lets say bicarbonate, you will force the body to retain Co2.

Since many people have high bicarb and high Co2. in normal life. means that there is something wrong with the nervous system. Which cant get out of parasympathetic state.

Yeah HCl definitely didn't make me feel good. I'm excited to see how hydrogen will play out!

I have this breathing/shock thing issue as well. Always assumed it was some sort of sleep apneau. Comes and goes though. Had some days on ARL when it took me 20 tries to fall a sleep as I felt this huge shock, almost like a small heart attack whenever I doozled in. This thing started when I tried testosteron suppletion. Even strong T-boosters does this to me. Is it harmful, though, @Helen?

Still bothers me on occasion. Not sure whether I should buy a hydrogen water machine though, seeing your experience @barbaar .

Don't take my experience as something that will happen to you too, you might react differently. I hope things will stabilize soon for me. Read some studies on hydrogen rich water, enough good things about it to make it worth a shot. Definitely don't start with a $2000 machine though :p

Yeah I went out and ordered the cheapest one I could find (220 bucks). I am already used to these shocks anyway. Also got me some sodium bycarbonate just in case.

I just hope hydrogen water doesn't harm me. I read nothing but good stuff on it online, but our bodies are weird.

You are PFS sufferer right?

- I sometimes feel it throughout the day as well, but it's more like a constant thing in the background, like when you had too much coffee. Definitely not always though

- Breathing drive seems low sometimes. On my first week of ARL I noticed I could breathe much more deeply and had more energy. That went away after the first week though.

- I feel pins and needles in my arms quite often. Sometimes throughout the day, almost always when laying in bed trying to fall asleep. Just in my arms though, not really anywhere else

- Brain fog is ok-ish. Currently not feeling too great since I'm running on a pretty big sleep deficit atm but that's not a weird thing. Anhedonia is still there, but I feel like I've gotten used to it kinda. It's definitely improved from when I was at my worst though.

@barbaar you're pretty much exactly the same as me. Even with regards to breathing, I was breathing super deeply while taking Betaine HCl, less so now. Following your progress eagerly.

I've had this before - I'm sure what helped was with methy B12 and/or Tulsi (holy basil). Almost like it's some sort of nervous system response

Looks like I am in the same boat as Barbaar.

Will ARL help me get out of the parasympathetic state or is one of hydrogen watte/bicarbonate needed on this protocol?

I will try the hydrogen water shortly, either way.

I suggested bicarb in case of no way out situations.

I am thinking of the way to get out this parasympathetic state faster for you guys. ARl or TE should do it. I think TE might do it faster.

Upped the hydrogen water to about 4 cups yesterday and I experienced the exact same as @barbaar. Couldn’t sleep for hours due to these shocks. They were heavy, too. Nearly thought I would die during some of ‘m.

I’ll try to see if I can ride them out. They are a pain though. Is there anything I can do to help my body snap out of this state without interfering with the ARL-program too much? @Helen? Is betaine HCL a no go for me?

Hang in there man. I'm still getting insomnia but the shocks are gone (for like 95%).

Hydrogen update:

- Shocks are gone for the most part. Just one or two in the last few days.
- Insomnia is still pretty bad, getting like ~6 hours of sleep a night. I need more.
- Still tired, but in a different way. Instead of complete, all-encompassing fatigue its more like 'yeah I need more sleep probably'
- Brain fog significantly improved. I speak a lot of English at uni (lots of international students) and I feel more fluent somehow. Not sure if it's actually the case, but talking is easier and I have less trouble finding words. Also when speaking dutch, people actually told me they noticed I talk more than usual and seem sharper.
- Anhedonia unchanged
- Emotional numbing unchanged
- Slight but noticable libido boost sometimes. Not better than a normal upswing, but better than before hydrogen for sure.
- The energy boost I got at the start is way less noticeable now, but still there (I think)

I feel more productive and can focus on uni assignments and stuff for longer than usual, which is nice with exams coming up. I'll definitely keep drinking hydrogen water.

Nice, man.
Your benefits from hydrogen water sound awesome and it's good even your parents can see a difference when using it.

Increased fluency is interesting, it seems like a smart-drug. I should buy that eventually. Just donated half my clothes/bedroom/books so I can focus (I do this in like every apartment or house I live in).
