Update: So, 3 days off Ella. Most of it should be out of my system by now. This morning I still had a brief moment of that energetic feeling, but it seems I'm back to my groggy old self for the most part. The only thing that has noticably increased from baseline is sensitivity. Libido is still shit, which is a shame because I really hoped for improvements there. Maybe they'll come later. I still think Ella was a step in the right direction, but maybe I need something more powerful. If I get no further benefits during the coming two weeks, I may have to order some RU. It's a shame it's so expensive and I'm a poor college student though  oh well. Getting out of this mess would be worth more than any amount of money.

Morning @aztec !

Doing ok here, you caught me as I was writing my update. Hope the same goes for you!
Be patient pal and let your body calibrate for a while. I have a feeling your libido will improve and it’s good to hear about your sensitivity getting better. Ella is just leaving your system so there is a lot more to see. You’re a young guy too so your body will heal up faster.

I am doing pretty good and feeling more relaxed. I will post an update when it has been a week off. Stay tuned because yesterday I experienced a wild positive reaction while I was talking to a girl on the phone haha! Save those quarters up in case you need one pill of ru 486 in the future. I hope Ella does the trick for you though.

Haha that's great to hear! And you're right. I should have a little more patience. It's taking so much willpower not to throw some inositol in the mix too, but I'm committed to a clean trial. If anything good happens I'll post it here.

Good to hear you got something lasting from Ella although it's still early so a snap back could still be heading your way soon! Ella actually has a longer half life than ru and ppl usually don't feel any snap back from ru until day 3 or 4 so I'd expect you to feel something by day 5 with Ella.

If you go the ru path one pill should do you wonders as I'm starting to feel extremely confident with a 3 day 5 to 10mg dose of ru486. Less seems to be more with this stuff.

This is intriguing me, the only guy who didnt reported any improvement after Ella, used a larger dose(7,5mg) for 12 days!
The most amazing pssd recovery was from low-dosing(1/10 of the therapeutic dose) ssri, 1-2 times a week for 4 weeks, during this time he got ups and downs, them returned to pssd state, he decided to stop, them the following 5 weeks the things started fluctuating again, after that things started to improve until a 100% recovery, the whole process took 4 months!

I always saw people trying stuff at super high doses and for extended periods, and now we are seeing a different picture!

Update: Woke up with actually decent morning wood (I'd say 85% max hardness  )! It's a miracle! Sensitivity seems a bit lower than on ella, but it fluctuates so I'm not too worried about it. I'm also getting hints of libido, but nothing too convincing so far. Here's to hoping these improvements continue!

Nice one brother, sounds really positive for ya. Keep us posted.

Update: today is the 7th day since I last took Ella. My energy levels are back to their normal low, maybe a little improved but not too much. Sensitivity seems to have lowered back down quite a bit too, or maybe I got used to it. Hard to tell. Boners are still not the hardest, but sometimes they're pretty good. No spontaneous ones except some morning wood, but I still wake up without more often than not. Libido seems to have improved slightly, at least to the point where it gets distracting when studying (finals week here :p ). I'll consider that a win.

The best thing I've noticed so far is that I feel less "disconnected", and my emotional range seems to be improving slightly. All in all I'm still pretty far from where I want to be, but Ella has given me the most improvements out of anything I tried.

Bit disappointing to see the results did not stick. Makes me wonder if your prog levels would be up (again)?
Maybe it needs more time. Any plans of trying it again in the future?

Yeah, I hoped so much this would be the magic fix. Anyways, I read the gbolduev deleted pfs thread and found he said the snapback could take up to two months. I can't find the exact quote though, so I'm not 100% sure. Maybe it needs more time.

I also went in completely blind, I don't even know what was going on with my progresterone, or anything else for that matter. I'm going to see if I can get some blood and hair tests done to get a better picture.

Just wanted to outline some of the connections among all of these for PSSD, PFS, POIS, Accutane

Progestins act on progesterone, cortisol, AR, and MR receptors. I think I did not mention the MR receptor before but it is well known that progesterone blocks that receptor and causes sodium wasting. So if you take progestins, then upon stopping the drug , aldosterone will be very very sensitive.

This can raise sodium in the cell. And I know many people with POIS for instance have severe reactions to sodium, increasing their symptoms substantially.

Anything that blocks progesterone makes aldosterone receptors less sensitive. Also it looks like inositol formation is increased with aldosterone. So taking inositol can decrease aldosterone receptors. Also licorice root acts as aldosterone. and upon stopping decreases aldosterone receptors.

Estrogen raises sodium in the cell. So does aldosterone. So if sodium is high already from too sensitive aldosterone. estrogen will be left insensitive and thus DHT will be downregulated.

We need to explore this route and try combination of anti progestins with licorice, and inositols.

This might be an explanation. I'm going to wait a while to be sure, and my next cycle I will combine ella or ru with licorice root and maybe inositol.

Just a heads up, testing for prog with the normal medical route in NL can take alot of time. I had to wait 2 months for my appointment with the endo, and my first blood test is excluding prog as they dont test this (at first) in men ...

Ugh, of course. I'll see if I can convince my GP. Not likely since he tried convincing me I was still depressed and tried putting me back on SSRI's when I complained about PSSD to him. Nooooooo thank you, you can shove those right where the sun don't shine.

Happened to me as well. Lareb has some official reports that support the existance of pssd. GP should acknowledge that.
I pushed for the endo, but so far thats also a slow progress and i have itchy hands not to alter the test form i have to bring to the nurse myself

Yesterday I went to my appointment with an endocrinologist, she never heard of something like what I described to her, but she didnt doubt it, and gave me ALL the blood tests that I asked  . The previous 4 doctors was like the one that you described.

@Shadow Hmm I should find a doc like that. I'll ask around.

Just don't go to a GP/Family doc. They are the worst. Go see an internist or an internist with a sub-specialty like endocrinology.

Honestly I avoid family doctors like the plague, with very few exceptions. Their residency is a joke, they aren't exposed to anything complex and never develop a nuanced understanding of anything. I've only ever seen one good family doc, and he was good because he studied in his free time, worked in a hospital a once a week, did palliative care, delivered babies, and was 25 years into his career. If you have to go to a family doc, try and find one that does rotations in hospitals or long-term care facilities and has a ton of experience.

Thanks for the advice matty! I actually live close to a hospital with two internists specialized in endocrinology. I'll have to figure out how to contact them.
