heavy drugs like that usually cause a problem with methylation and demethylation processes. thus there is hypo and hypermethylation going on.

This happens since these drugs effect the redox status in the cell, and redox status control availability of ascorbate which is a cofactor of all these processes.

Finasteride by impairing redox, causes severe oxidative stress, which impairs glutathione, and as per multiple tests we see that redox and reduces glutathione is very very low in PFS people,( you can find these tests on propecia help., there at least 20 people who tested this)

As the redox status is impaired, this impairs Glutathionie Ascorbate cycle Glutathione-ascorbate cycle - Wikipedia

Which basically lowers the levels of active reduced Ascorbate in the cell. now you have high DHA which is oxidized ascorbate.

Active reduced ascorbate is a cofactor for demethylating enzymes which take off methyl group . TET Regulation of the Epigenome by Vitamin C and also active ascorbate is what prohibits BH4 from oxidation thus increases methylation.

The process of methylation and demethylation is an ongoing process. It is constantly flowing.


Basically in PFS there is a heavy hypomethylation going since redox is impaired, but at the same time, when you took a drug, the body overmethylated some DNA parts.

So as you can see, methylation is impaired and Demethylation is also imparied when redox is impaired and this is why the body cant get back to normal on its own.


This is why methylation protocol helped so many people on propeciahelp to feel ALMOST normal and have erections and etc.

SO to be clear again. you take the drug, and the body overmethylates some DNA to support that drug. This drug influences redox process, mainly glutathione recycling process. This impairs both methylation and demethylation.

SO now the body cant get back to normal, since it cant methylate or demethylate these changes.


This is why I suggested the electrolytes protocol, Electrolytes protocol supports glutathione and restores the redox in the cell, which restores methylation and demethylation .


To methylate properly you need b vitamins, proteins, etc. to demethylate properly you need ASCORBATE in the cell. ASCORBATE Is a cofactors of TET enzymes that demethylate . Thus if redox in the cell is impaired , demethylation is impaired. and control of demethylation is impaired Regulation of the Epigenome by Vitamin C


I did use some demethylating agents like sulphoraphane etc and they helped . and some people used demethylation agents on propecia forum even drugs, they felt better but then it all came back. Since you cant control demethylation once, you have to constantly methylate and demethylate

Even if you use demethylating agents, you have to restore redox, otherwise ascorbate will not be there and methylation and demethylation will not work.



Ascorbate loss is the reason some people get EBV post finasteride. Since it is ascorbate which controls viral replication.


Also ascorbate is what support BH4. without BH4 you dont have eNOS. and endothelian disfunction ( erections, circulation problems) and without Bh4 you have no methylation.

NADPH oxidase activation ( thus we see low b2)

iNOS activation, ( we see no nitric oxide)

I hope this is more clear to people, how important it is to restore ASCORBATE which control demethylation ( TET enzyme ) and methylation ( BH4) and Nitric oxide thru Bh4.

I was taking 2g sodium ascorbate per day on the protocol. Which type of vitamin C is the best?

Look quickly at the studies, but didn't see what their high dose was, how many ~grams? Assuming it was intervenous.

you are all good Bro. electrolytes protocol has all you need. 2gm is good. with vitamin E.

You can increase some C shortly. but 2 gm should be ok,I think for you

Some people can try to take up to 50gm at first, but you have been taking this electrolytes protocol for so long, I think you are good.

I have dug into the Vitamin C route for hair growth before, the biggest problem is that it's water soluble, so taking a high amount orally is not going to do a heck of a lot for you, even if you're deficient, which is rare. A topical solution would be good as well, but it can't be exposed to much light and it needs a fairly good vehicle in order to actually penetrate the skin. My best guess would be alcohol, PG, or DMSO or a combo. I also read that it works really well when combined with zinc topically.

I thought Orion is combining electrolyte protocol (Vitamin B, NaCl/KCl/MgCl, aminos) with the recommended minerals from ARL. Or am i wrong?

Those protocols overlap (i.e. include some of the same sups), so if you do them both at the same time, then in effect you aren't doing either.

Ascorbal palmitate is a fat soluble vit c. Maybe liposomal vitamin c is as well.

Do you need to take vit. C on itself to have effect on body or is from food source good too?

I would think from food source it just helps the food to be used as energy as efficient as possible. Standalone Vitamin C would have different effect in the body, no?

Bruschi , tons of people do SALT C protocol for lyme. have you tried it before?

Never tried it before or heard of it. Just looked into briefly but sounds like perfect thing to do as I run my little Lyme/electrolytes protocol.

I’ve been getting a lot of my electrolytes with long sea salt baths. Lots of sea salt in these like 3-4 cups and I feel it’s action heavily.

I’m just finishing up a 12 day colon cleanse. Just an herbal cleanse from gnc and it was really strong. It was absolutely required and I think anyone who has had chronic constipation for extended period should do one. Got so much out. Feeling a lot better.

From here I have 2 liver flushes scheduled before I I fast for 24 days beginning Nov 27. Doing my own Lyme/electrolytes protocol in meantime but may add that salt/C either now or after fast.

We are definitely past that hydrogen slip up. Feel like I hold the keys again.
