Cured from Propecia side effects at Post Finasteride Syndrome, topic 2276109

Here's one posting I found where they describe nystatin... obviously I can't verify it was a real one but it seems legitimate to me...

Looking for the neuro spinal link now too

This is great. Just goes to show that people seem to find the weirdest ways out of PSSD and PFS. That dude had it for 11 YEARS and basically overnight recovered. Incredible. I wonder how old that posting is.

Edit: Appears to be about 2 years old, so 2015-2016 era.

I have genital anesthesia post-accutane and stressful event. I had zero libido after Accutane. Then when I went through a traumatic event I additional acquired genital anesthesia. I've had the zero libido for ten years and the genital anesthesia for five.

Sad to hear but you joined the right place , do you have your own log ? What protocol/experiment have you tried these past ten years

I had almost no feeling when I came off of fin. Within a week of coming off, I could feel tingling in the scrotum, and a very nerve type sensation, as if it was improving.

Another path I had gone done in understanding PFS was the importance of allopregnanolone in myelination. I'm not sure if I am even being close to back to what I was in sensitivity, but it has gotten better.

I would love to hear how this connects to the general school of thought in HS.

For me sensitivity was not bad. It was bad for a while in the beginning of PFS. Now it is back to normal. I still have ED/libido issues (very inconsistent).

For the first few years I thought I was just busy and depressed. So my efforts went toward taking care of the rest of my life with the notion that if I could do really well in in that then I'd start feeling good in general and my libido would come back. After a while, it became clear that it was more than just stress and depression, however. The first thing I did was take Welbutrin, which didn't work. Then I tried TRT. Then I tried T3/T4 supplementation. Finally, I tried psychotherapy and his recommendations on reqarming the sexual side of my brain. None of these worked of course.

I've always avoided the more complicated protocols people have taken because I didn't see any reliable results among them and it all just seemed to be too unscientific to be worth the psychological cost of pursuing and likely failing with. So I've really just been avoiding my sexuality until concrete science comes in. But at this point, I really wonder if it ever will. At least while I am still in my "dating years" (ie young enough to date women who are still of birthing age). Maybe this forum is a lot better organized and knowledgable than ones of the past.

I've only just joined, but I'm going to try a protocol here and create a log for it. Would be great to see a list of success stories, if anyone has one. Have indeed numerous people here been successful in making solid recoveries?

Can you tell me what you mean when you refer to myelination? Sorry but I'm new. I can tell you that I am suspicious that allopregnanolone is central to our issues as well. My particular reason is that my symptoms got much worse and have remained that way for 5 years after I went through a traumatic event. In fact, a PTSD type event. I basically got genital anesthesia overnight because of stress and it never went away (previously I only had the other symptoms of PAS/PFS). Apparently, low Allopregnanolone is a biomarker for PTSD. In other words, I am very suspicious that if I could increase my allopregnanolone levels then my PAS and genital anesthesia might go away.

Well I never recovered the sensitivity to 100%, it's now back to 50%.

It's funny because the pleasure nerves are likely the ones that also measure the hot and cold feelings, not the touch or friction. The nerves that trigger pleasurable stimulation in the brain from genitals is not working properly.

Try topical iodine.

Prior to discovering this forum and a lot of the other interesting schools of thought (or approaches), I had spent a good chunk of time focusing on allo, and I think there is still something to it. My experience was and is very much like yours. I had a very stressful year or two, that brought on all of my issues with PFS, and a near PTSD type state. See below.

I have also become convinced by this forum that there are several types of flavors of PFS, and that not too many people have had my experience. It sounds like you have, and I would be really interested to see what your hair test says about your metabolism. Please let me know if you go ahead with it.

That aside, the biggest early success I had was through phosphatidylserine supplementation. It connects to some of the sardine discussion here. See below:

I can find some of the research later, but in short and simplified, PS (and through it IMO allo) is useful for maintaining nervous system health, and lower levels are associated with cases of demylination. At one point I had tried a 5α-DHP supplement (precursor to allo), and while it had some interesting and calming effects, it didn't seem to impact sensitivity or libido. I have since come to agree with this forum that exogenous supplementation of this type is probably not helpful long term.

PS I read is actually stimulatory. I dropped it and noticed I slept better. I was using seriphos which is high dose. It helped at first but then after either stimulated me too much or did nothin
