I find it only in the USA, it takes a month to come in Italy and here it's a prescription drug, so it's not safe to import.

So, to speak... I've read a lot of pages and threads but can't completely understand.

I get that the chloride version has better absorption and most importantly helps to counteract alkalosis (it's what we want) whereas other forms of potassium favor it. But, since we use also a lot of HCL and magnesium chloride also could be an option the use of another formulation of potassium, maybe at higher doses?

Maybe @gbolduev ?

Please, just a word on this, thank you very much!

Maybe try Amazon.de? That's where I got mine.

I get you...yes it is logical that you can get another form if you get enough chloride elsewhere...
Ask wuf who is in Italy too!
In Spain we can buy KCl.

Just try it with the Mg and K first if you are throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. If that does nothing after a few weeks, add NaCl.
Any reason why a typical western diet wouldnt contain all the salt we need (and more)?

Also anyone starting this protocol please don't start with 500mg of magnesium chloride. I worked my way up to that and I also only eat two meals a day. If you over do magnesium you will feel like crap and your libido will tank.

So start very low with the magnesium maybe 50-100mg first. Potassium is much more easier to dose, so you can start with 100 or 250mg or more.

MgCl2 has 12% elemental magnesium. Therefore 100mg is only 12mg of magnesium.
I take around 2g which equals ~240mg elemental magnesium.

Potassium chloride for example is 50-52% elemental potassium.
So 4g KCl ~2g elemental potassium.

I think thats good to know :)

The measurement I was referring to was just the amount I take out of the pure mag chloride powder. So referring to the MgCl2 total amount in general.

How do you dose out the magnesium chloride powder? I just received mine but cant find a system to measure out a dose.

Thanks - didn’t mean to ask a dumb question but I didn’t know if there was a measuring spoon to mg conversion (often on the bulk supplement powders)
I’ll purchase a scale to be safe.

Which powder do you have? I can measure 1/4 tsp on my scale and tell you how much it equals so you have an idea without a scale

I think also after stress / before bed you can take a lot more. Magnesium will tank sodium so you'll feel tired if you had high sodium (it goes high in stress)

I only take it on days after exercising (tennis for 2-5 hours) and i hit it pretty hard, like 300mg before bed. seems to help recovery and allow me to sleep (sometimes exercise hypes me up too much and i have trouble getting to sleep)


BTW this is my 'de-stress cocktail' i have before bed most days (add magnesum for the exercise days):

1tblspn tahini paste
4 scoops icecream (real icecream not just the crappy sugar ones)
2 bananas
1 cup almond milk

basically a decent amount of calcium and magnesium in that

YOu need to get a hairtest. and ask less questions. It is all in the protocol.. For some reason people totally omit the hairtest part/ This is the part where they will tell you what you need.Without it you would not know which cofactors to increase./ LIke someone with high copper will need zinc and manganese more ., someone with low copper will need copper.

You could try to do the same with a multi, I am not sure if it will work

if your sodium is not high , you can supp sodium chloride

You keep asking me about stuff, but I have no idea about your imbalance. I dont know your bloods, gases, hair, anything.

So if you use this protocol, you have to experiment on what makes you feel better. Or do a hairtest and get balanced.

to confirm to do a hair test 1 week no supplements is sufficient? Does diet matter? Does Coffee?

The hair test represent your tissues in the last 3 months, depending how long you cut of hair. So it does not depend on diet or coffee.

Have you tried to use hemp seeds that have a better balance to omega 3? Tahini have too much omega 6, or else add linen that you home grind fresh.
You can also use avocados to make something creamy...
In the evening I use only coconut as fat, so that I can flush in the morning with olive oil.

No i had the tahini in there for its calcium content but thats a good point, i feel like i get sunburnt more easily now (i often feel that if i dont have enough omega 3s) maybe ill have to try the hemp seeds instead!

Yes they have almost the perfect balance! I buy them by the kilo, peeled. I am waiting for unpeeled ones at ridiculous price, and organic though, and will try to make some milk or sprout them. Can you get avocados and do you like them? They make super creams!

Thanks for the indication about sunburn, good to know! It can explain why though I have very white skin, I do not sunburn easily. I found it surprising...
