I think histidine taken with copper lysine, and glycine can be the missing link. This was already mentioned in zinc finger protocol , but no one seems to read it ,

So I made a separate thread for this

There are 3 protocols for hair mentioned in zinc finger post.

these are the aminos which are usually combined with copper in most enzymes in the body. This is the most bioavailable copper you can get.

Might need to add vitamin C to it also

I see they even sell the actual peptide. Buy GHK-CU Peptide

Not sure how different it would be just to combine these amino acids.

Lets discuss this

What's the pathway for biosynthesis of GHK-Cu? I can't find it anywhere.

Or is it just assumed that it's formed spontaneously? If so, I wonder what conditions facilitate spontaneous formation of this complex.

Very interesting, and seems that the dosages of the amino combo are very small.

"The most likely effective dosage of GHK was given to rats for healing bone fractures. This mixture of small molecules included Gly-His-Lys (0.5 μg/kg), dalargin (1.2 μg/kg) (an opioid-like synthetic drug), and the biological peptide thymogen (0.5 μg/kg) (L-glutamyl-L-tryptophan) to heal bones. The total peptide dosage is about 2.2 μg/kg or, if scaled for the human body, about 140 μg per injection with 10 treatments per day"

I think it is formed spontaneously , since copper combines with these aminos.((lysyl oxidase , DAO, MAO ) So I think CHK with electrolytes and vitamin C could be a really good option. I think you might try this in your MS research. Since I think it fits it
For some people with too much free copper, I guess CHK could be good at first. and then add copper. and zinc and C

Also I think we can just take these aminos separately

They say it is spontaneous. The one that is sold is synthetic, don't know how they make it.

If it occurs naturally, when and why does it happen less?
And what can be done to make more if needed?

Are glycine and lysine useful with methionine/copper protocol, or with histidine only.

Seems that histidine and methionine are the two aminos at different ends of the spectrum; androgenic hairloss and protein wasting hairloss.

I'm assuming the peptide is injectable ... I like the nerve regeneration because that's major help... which is why I was using other peptides...

2 cases of hairloss, are

1) connective tissue wasting, in this case your hair bulb just falls out.( hair bulb just does not hold inside of your skin) since connective tissue is weak.
2)Then it could be protein wasting, that is when your hair just thins out to zero( these cases are helped with methionines, sulfurs, cysteines histidines zinc copper)

Connective tissue help should come from lysyl oxidase. so lysine, histidine, copper, glycine, and vitamin C. And you can be high or low in any of those causing a deficiency of another.

Plus it could be both of course when you are low on both connective tissue and sulfur amino acids. . this involves histidine deficiency, since then none of the protein goes in. and you get both connective tissue problem and thinning( protein wasting) . MIXED oxidizer types.

I think you can just match it with amino acids. Same as that woman did for autism,, she matched histidine with copper, BOOM. bye bye autism

My shedding seems likely case 1, all the daily falling hairs are thick, healthy looking with bulb attached. My methionine is now arriving next week, would adding lysine and glycine be useful with methionine/copper testing?

Protein wasting happens in too fast thyroid. If thyroid is too fast. body is gettting rid of potassium and magnesium. Since potassium is what makes the thyroid hormone to work in the cell.

Free copper binds to proteins like tyrosinase, and breaks it down, this lowers thyroid hormones. If you have too much free copper that is why you have low thyroid .

That is why for some slow oxidizers, anything that binds copper, like lysine, histidine, glycine, vitamin C. Will speed up the thyroid and actually lower progesterone and allow the body to waste potassium to get rid of it from the cell.

Mixed oxidizers, that used Fin, and other drugs. and artificially altered their oxidation rate. Need to use both of these methods combined,

This is why Ray peat approach is wrong, since he looked at some people and said, oh, you need to do the opposite . If you were eating high phosphorus diet. you need to just turn around and eat high calcium diet. Well now it is imbalanced into another side.

If you were an eater of high phosphorus diet, you just need to balance that diet. and if you are an eater of high calcium diet, well you need to balance that diet out also. Not just go from one extreme to another, where you will get different symptoms.

but the whole RPF forum, just take this as extreme and eat high calcium high milk low phosphorus diet. and then they all experience problems with teeth etc , same as Ray Peat did. It is all about balance.

This is why those people take lysine, C and they say they lower serotonin/ and then they start experiencing histamine reactions and pricklings and energy crashes. LOL Lysine and C bind free copper, copper is part of MAO -A. so lysine and C will increase thyroid. which will increase cortisol . and since it will lower MAO A it will increase cortisol. THYROID increases ACTH and LH. it always did and always will. since thyroid is fire. and fire burns wood and wood is sugar, and adrenaline and cortisol provide that wood. along with diet.

So not to have stress hormones , you need to have balance oxidation rate. IN slow oxidizers slow metabolism people's cortisol is low. NOT high. since their metabolism is low and they dont need it. Those people have low serotonin. since serotonin goes up when you have low free copper and those people have high free copper.

In fast oxidizer high thyroid low free copper , you have potassium losses from the cell, high cortisol, high serotonin. . High ceruloplasmin

In slow oxidizer ,low thyroid , you have high free copper., you retain potassium in the cell, you have low potassium on the hairtest, so potassium is not leaving the cell, you have high progesterone, meaning that body want to retain more and more potassium. when you bind free copper with glycine lysine, vitamin C, histidine, zinc manganese for that person, body will be getting rid of potassium from the cell, and it will lower progesterone

Also, the higher your thyroid is , the more ferritin will be. So for those with low ferritin, you will do good on lysine and C. Since it will bind free copper, and increases speed of the thyroid. And this will increase your ferritin since ferritin will be needed in the cell since body will be wanting to use iron to convert progesterone into cortisol

But no matter what you take , you will go into the opposite body chemsitry within a month, and instead of one type of hairloss, you get another, or from diabetes 1 you can go into diabetes 2.

that is why minerals vitamins , should be used short term. or should be used in balanced rations.

for both oxidation rates. and let the body take what it needs. SO you need always to feed something for a month , stop it and eat balanced, or feed another side together with the stuff that you were taking

AND HORMONES SHOULD NEVER BE USED> since it unbalances your mineral ratios, you are taking the hormone that dont not belong there.

As you saw from all of this, any extreme or dogma bs things will unbalance you . the problem is not serotonin and not cortisol, the problem is how you eat. what your life style is and what you were born with. You need to balance yourself out. Since most people have stress, and Ray Peats theory is based on stress and that everyone is the same. WRONG

This is why you have slow oxidizer, and fast oxidizer. they have the same stress. but they are totally different, one has high free copper and another one has low free copper. this all depends from person to person and based on their diet, their activity , their organ size,

Some people can be fast or slow oxidizers just because they have different organ size , and the maximum output of the thyroid will be lower than that of the adrenal gland for instance. How applicable the stress theory to all of this? it simply is NOT.

TO LIVE THE LONGEST is not about diet, it is about the ability of yourself to adjust your diet in a way so it balances your specific case. So it balances your imbalanced inborn metabolism. or it balances your other habits. For this you need to listen to yourself and get tested and see what nutrients are particularly being used in your body and support this.

And for that you need to learn how to read your metabolism. not just say that your cortisol is high and serotonin is high. Most slow oxidizers have LOW serotonin, and LOW cortisol, that is why they take SSRIs LOL and that is why doctors put them on cortisol replacement ( which is idiotic) . It does not mean that you need to increase your cortisol or serotinin in slow oxidizer. You just need to bind free copper and thyroid will go up and this will increase serotonin and cortisol.

And in fast oxidizer you just need to feed copper calcium and this will decrease the thyroid and lower your cortisol and serotonin.

If you are trying to supplement your inborn imbalance, then you need to make sure, you get the right dosages. Since big dosages, will just take you from one side into another. and then you say, oh it does not work. YOU need tiny dosages it is not about filling yourself up. And over at RPF, people are taking 2 grams of calcium LOL and then they need to take thyroid. and then they need to take progesterone and all other bs. If in the beginning this person could have taken 20mg of calcium a day and be balanced.

I think all people that screwed up with drugs or hormones are mixed oxidizers. since they forced themselves into a differnt body chemistry using hormones. and not the minerals how it is supposed to be.

that is why you are not a true fast oxidizer. You need to look to combine protocols. which I said up above.

Yes I like this approach, good to push some minerals/aminos from both sides weekly/monthly, then take the week/month off to see how you stick/snap back. And in the end rely on food only when you feel/look balanced.

This is deep.

Anyhow, no more hormones for me.

Fully on board with "lysine, histidine, copper, glycine, and vitamin C" as protocol. Just need to buy the glycine.

I want to also add in small amounts of cysteine (in case I have both cases, connective tissue and protein wasting) as well as alanine (it was the #1 most deficient amino acid in study/survey on men with MPHL).

However, question: If methinonine potentially makes your hair worse, then it would likely be the same story with cysteine, wouldn't it?

I'm most likely a fast oxidizer according to you from a hair mineral analysis I did in 2016. For copper = beef liver. For Calcium = Dairy? (I remember reading that dairy calcium isn't absorbed by you or perhaps I didn't comprehend properly)

.
Do you think DNA testing is useful for this? I did DNAfit and it suggested i had a much higher vitamin E need than most. Elevated E, slightly elevated Ca, slightly elevated omega 3s, slightly elevated vitamin c need.

It gave my 'adjusted RDIs' taking into account what they know (so far) about my genes.

If i follow something like that do you think it would balance me?

Often times my blood feels really sludgy. It seems vitamin E is known natural blood thinner

You just need to bind free copper and thyroid will go up and this will increase serotonin and cortisol.

What is FREE copper? Is it the one that appears in the hair test? Or the one shown in blood test?
(it seems levels are opposite between hair test and blood test...)
