High Triglycerides and Total Cholesterol / Digestive Issues... Bile Salts and Glutathione Supplements Not Working.

I started to see a trend towards higher than normal in each of the above two around the beginning of 2017. I was also diagnosed with h pylori in this timeframe. This may have been connected to me starting Ray Peat around this time as well.

I have subsequently been treated and eradicated the h pylori, but continue to have significant digestive issues.

I am consistently having yellow and loose stools, as well as greasier feeling skin. Alcohol produces a bad reaction on my gut. I am now near Triglycerides and Total Cholesterol levels where my doctor is talking about statins.

Based on my understanding, these issues correspond to the NADH and bile issues Helen has discussed. I will be starting TEI next week, and have been supplementing energy lipids, bile salts, and glutathione for the last 3 months, though they don't seem to be helping, and my digestive issues are worse than ever.

Aside from TEI, I'm at a bit of a loss with what to do diet wise or supplement wise. Any input would be great.

Are you using HCl? took me many months of high dose HCl and bile acids, to get digestion better.

Things that helps fat oxidation big time: malic acid, l-carnitine, B2(high dose), B3, B5, cysteine, alpha-ketoglutarate. The ones that are part of the citric(krebs) cycle, help to spare NAD, needed to burn fat.

Getting electrolytes as well: NaCl, MgCl, and KCl will go a long way in helping

TEI should help as well, as you will know which minerals to take and what to avoid/chelate.

I had been avoiding HCl due to not wanting to make the h pylori worse. I may have been overdoing it on the bile acids (1500mg per large meal), and my urgency and looseness seemed to get worse. Yellow liquid basically.

The oily scalp/face thing is definitely me right now, what amazes me is I have been off fin for almost 7 years now, and this seems new, though the last few years were more paleo than fat / sugar friendly.

I did one liver cleanse (the yellow went away for a couple of days after, though may have just been due to the purge), and have been doing malic daily, drinking coconut water and taking magnesium (regular cramps and RLS).

Also, what is your diet like? How has your protocol worked?

I think HCl can knock pylori out... might need to confirm that though, I think tyw discussed in on RPF, large mega doses are needed, like 30pills, and is reported as safe.

Ya too much bile acids cause instantaneous diarrhea for me as well, I now use one Jarrow 750mg in morning and one 250mg TUDCA with dinner meal, that has helped.

Getting fat/beta oxidation going has helped my oily skin/scalp the most, using the list above.

I have 12th liver flush coming up next week, they get easier and I find are helping a lot with digestion

My diet focuses on protein first(meat, egg whites, isolate whey, and some seafood), lots of green veggies, and some complex carbs(rice, beans, bread) and butter.

Its working but its slow going. Its been a year since I implemented this approach. learning alot along the way, so hoping this year things get to the next level. I am not a young, so I know this wont be a quick fix...

Yellowish stools might mean your pancreas is struggling

This product is good for slow liver flush.. 30 days
https://www.sensiblehealth.com/Products-Tinctures.xhtml&locale=us

I would also use binders so you can start clearing the crud that's blocking your liver/gall pancreas instead of recycling /reabsorbing from your digestive track

Use a fiber/resistant starch protocol, 1tbsp psyllium powder, 1 tbsp banana flour/ 1 scoop of amazing greens(berry flavor)/fos inulin 1 Pint of water shake well, drink fast. This will also firm up your stools as u rebuild gut flora

If you drink this daily all the bugs hpylori etc will stick to it and you'll pass it out your colon, at the same time the fiber feeds your good bacteria. This is a one two punch to get your gut back in check pretty quick.

Also colostrum will feed your flora rather quickly, boost immune and stops diarrhea quickly. But that fiber protocol alone works wonders

I still sit halfway between Ray Peat and my new reality. Feeding my gut bacteria still makes me nervous. Though I am certainly in the worst digestive health of my life currently.

My last breath test was clear on h pylori, so it may be time to start HCl. It is clear that my fat digestion is entirely broken. The consistency of stools and color is way out of wack. I may start some probiotics again, I just worry about feeding the wrong bacteria.
