How to fix sugar/carb metabolism?

Hey guys, many of you know that I have PFS and follow a raw carnivore diet. I've made improvements but some days when I add raw honey to my meals consisting of raw meat, I become incredibly fatigued and tired. Why is this? If I stay on more keto macro ratios my energy is more consistent.

After eating raw meat and honey my energy should be high, but I honestly want to crash and sleep. What and why is this exactly and how would you go about fixing it?

It seems the body is using the little energy that has to digest this food you supply and leaves you with even less energy and thats why is the crash of wanting to fall asleep after a meal. Very simplistic explanation but supplying food that requires less digestive energy expenditure will leave more energy to the body to function better through the day and the food will be digested as well. At least reduce the meal size to see if make a difference.

PFS may induce some kind of insulin resistance. So rather than shuttling glucose out of your blood (which came from carbs you ate), your body just lets it hang around at high levels, making you feel shitty. You can try pharmacological routes like metformin or berberine to enhance insulin. Some probiotics may also help. Frequent exercise will keep your metabolism up and help burn off some of the glucose. Quality sleep will lower insulin resistance. Long term keto/low carb diet may gradually improve it. Insulin resistance is a big topic of current scientific research so you just have to try various things for now.

Insulin resistance was THE thing I battled with last year, I was full keto, taking everything known to improve IR; cinnamon, chromium, Magnesium, Lipoic acid, doing HIIT etc.
And that wasn't before medium to high doses of glycine/taurine/TUDCA that I could eat sugar with little to no issue, which would indicate that poor liver function was one of the culprits in my case. Cdnuts protocol might have gradually played a beneficial role too as androgen deprivation often seen in PFS is likely to cause IR, and DHT to reverse it:

Androgen Therapy Improves Insulin Sensitivity and Decreases Leptin Level in Healthy Adult Men With Low Plasma Total Testosterone

The influence of androgens on insulin resistance. - PubMed - NCBI

DHEA administration and exercise training improves insulin resistance in obese rats

YMMV
