I never did. I considered it when I first started balding, but didn't go for it because I still had a lot of hair and I didn't wanna go through the "shedding phase" that many ppl talked about.

Minoxidil is supposedly derived from cyanamide. Found a study which say cyanamide activates hpa-axis and increases CRH mnra and others. Could this cause hpa overativation and cause problems ? Hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal axis activation by administration of cyanamide: a potent inhibitor of aldehyde dehydrogenase. - PubMed - NCBI

--it's a bastardized chemical aberration, derived from a real drug. Like most pharma drugs these days (tho minox is pretty old like fin).

Off topic but a guy I spoke with who had symptoms after minox said his dht was 3 times over the range
