Orion, how is your fast going?

He’s been done for a bit now. He said this 25 day one was better than his 50 day last week when I talked to him lol. Convinced me to stick to water (no breuss) for mine.

I have been waiting to post results, but I guess now is good. Finished up a 25 day water fast in November, and doing very well(managed to keep lifting heavy, and lost very little strength). During the fast I read Genreaux's PDF on vitamin A being the root of all evil, so I implemented a zero/low vitamin A diet on the refeed. I am now vitA free for 3 weeks on refeed, plus the ~3 weeks fasting, and holy shit it is the last piece of the puzzle that was missing for me. @Helen and everyone here got me to 95% with fasting, electrolyte, hair testing, etc, but pure water fasting to deplete vitA, then refeeding with no vitA and continueing a low/zero vitA diet, skin has gone into healing overdrive like never before. I realize my long 54 day fast helped, but with Bruess juice and Bruess teas, you are taking above 5000IU of vitA per day, and when I got off that fast last Dec, I started right back on a diet with lots of vitA.

Good sleep has taken the last 4 weeks to make some progress, but its coming along very nicely. I am on no supplements, and digestion/transit are good. Planning hairtest in Jan, to see my mineral status. Otherwise my mood is mega positive, and libido is soaring. I can drink huge amounts of alcohol, and no hangover.

Also I definitely believe that I am still depleting vitaminA/accutane, I get mega flu symptoms(headache, malaise, aching bones/joints) that last for 12hrs every few days, feels like getting the flu, then next day I feel normal.

Will continue along and keep updating.

Wow that is super exciting!

I wonder if the liverflushes got rid of some of the A too. Btw, are you going to retest your hair after awhile of this vitamin a fasting?

I am thinking the liver flushes probably helped, and plan to continue doing them every couple week for the next few months still.

Planning hairtest in Jan, to see what the mineral status is.

Orion, what does your low vit A diet look like?

@sanka

Here are the daily staples I have been using:

lean beef, lean chicken/turkey, egg whites, non fatty fish, some nuts
coconut oil, olive oil, butter(small amounts for butyric acid)
pasta, rice, potato, black or navy beans, oatmeal, cornmeal, non-fortified breads/cereals
cauliflower, turnip, celeriac, parsnip, onion, garlic
Small portions: banana, grapes, apples, pineapple, (these should be ok: raisins, dates, blueberries, raspberries, strawberry, cherry)
Apple juice, grape juice, coconut milk(non-fortified)
Sugars, honey, brown/white

Good news. How close to being cured are you and what needs to happen for that to be achieved?

Do you attribute b2 as one of the big factors in your recovery?

Very close to being 100%. Skin and sleep keep improving, skin is beyond what I ever though it could heal back to. Shedding has stopped, hoping 2019 is the year for some re-growth or thickening.

For now I am attributing to final push to depleting vitA, but all the rec's from helen got everything moving in the right direction. I think B2 is part of the system that removes retinoic acid from the body, flavins important for drug and toxin excretion.

Most bright fruit/veggies and leafy greens are packed with vitA/carotene. On days of the flush I do low fat and minimal protein, and fast 6-12hrs before starting the protocol at 6pm.

@Orion Nice man. it makes sense. Since accutane is fat soluble . So it is stored in your liver. SO if you deplete vitamin A , the body will use accutane faster.

I did not know that accutane was fat soluble. I read before that it was water soluble, so it did not make sense that it stayed in the body, but after reading the studies that say that it is fat soluble, then it makes sense.

The funny thing is you may be using accutane now as a source of retinoic acid)) and it activates your RXR .

I think fasting helps in your case. Pure fasting helped you more since it wasted more accutane out of your liver.. Vitamin A depletion is good, also for now.

I dont think vitamin A is toxic, okinawa people eat close to 200000 a day, and they are the longest living people on earth

I dont advice getting fat solubles, I advice sun. I dont like how people on RPF pound vitamin A like candy.

accutane inhibits the production of retionic acid. mainly inhibits acetyldehyde enzyme in the end, which run on b2. this is why you felt good on b2/

Keep pushing man. Liver flushes, fasting, and put pressure on vitamin A system, so it wastes more accutane out of the liver.

I think it makes sense for you to stay on low vitamin A. but in this case body prolly will use accutane. and you will have the symptoms.

Skin could be clearing from running on accutane )) that would be reall funny))

The thing is with accutane still in your liver, the body probably does not even absorb much of vitamin A. But I guess it absorbs some and it slows accutane detox.

I cant believe they created a fat soluble vitamin which stays in the liver like this. and activates the end of the retionic pathway , everytime it comes out.))

Will keep it up, noticing that my calluses on hands and feet are turning normal skin color from bright orange vitamin A storage.

that means you are using up Beta-carotene ,since this is what make the color change. Usually hypothyroid people store beta carotene.

Accutane is the end product of the pathway, so it should stop the pathway. and retinol and beta carotine accumulate. I think it is a good idea for you to stay away from them until accutane is gone.
