This is related to this thread and immune response. PFS puts you into alkalosis and this does not allow immune response to happen. Usually when you get sick, you go into acidosis. In PFS you cant do it. And thus you are getting chronic infections, which when you start fixing alkalosis you will FEEL so much it is not even funny. You will be sick big time.

taking exogenous test or DHT causes you to downregulate 3 beta hsd and 450scc. Which is already downregulated. thus your iron is not being used HENCE no immune response.

Same happens with POIS people. when POIS people get sick, their pois disappears. they dont get sick often since they are in alkalosis. In alkalosis there is no immune response. And when you have flu body tries to go into acidosis , which lowers cortisol since acidosis tanks potassium in the cell. When potassium is tanked , cortisol needs to be broken down. and it is broken down by 5 alpha reductase 2. Thus its activity goes UP and most PFS and POIS symptoms disappear. The only problem is this will raise progesterone requirement and wont allow 5 alpha reductase to go online fully. Thus you need to create an environment when both progesterone and cortisol ARE NOT NEEDED. only this will put 5 alpha reductase back online.

Taking cortisol tanks immune system. And increases 5 alpha reducates 2. since it is needed to break down cortisol and progesterone into it metabolites.

taking high dose progesterone or dexamethasone at the same time would force the body to upregulate 5 alpha reductase 2.

But it is much easier to do the same with mineral route which I outlined

Copper keep thyroid low, while you increase potassium. This will allow both cortisol and progesterone to come down. And this will allow upregulation of 5 alpha reducate 2

Bottom line. Finasteride blocks 5 alpha reductase 2. this happens since finasterid is progestine which effects both cortisol and progesterone. this causes the unsolvable alkalotic discrepancy between cortisol and progesterone.

Cortisol lowers potassium in the cell, progesterone increases potassium in the cell. HERE you have both high progesterone and high cortisol . And cortisol cant come down, since progesterone is retaining the potassium. And progesterone cant come down, since 5 alpha reductase 2 is down. 5 alpha reductase 2 cant go back up, since cortisol is needed, since potassium is sky high in the cell, because of alkalosis.

You see the mechanism here.

To break this mechanism. you need to create an environment when both cortisol and progesterone are satisfied.

Progesterone is satisfied by potassium. Cortisol is satisfied by lower metabolism( copper) Mangesium gets rid of sodium retention which cortisol caused. B2 lowers serotonin

INSULIN will go up , only when progesterone COMES DOWN. Since high progesterone signal the body potassium deficiency, and in potassium deficiency insulin secretion will be ZERO. Since insulin puts potassium in the CELL.

PROGESTERONE causes INSULIN TO BE ZERO and actually causes FRANK DIABETES.

RU486 reverses this.

But progesterone is raised in the body when potassium is deficient. Thus you better off take the mineral route that I outlined

Actually we have a PFS group in Spain and we never got ill once while in PFS, we ususally got the flu once a year, now we didnt have it once... And thats typical with PFS.

I got mono coming off PFS the first time.
<e>
</e></QUOTE>

Yeah, I remember asking you about that a long time ago. You said due to zinc deficiency since zinc heavily regulates viral infections in the body and PFS = super zinc deficiency</r>

cortisol is immunodpressant, and will increase 5ar2. thus taking licorice or dexamethasone , improves symptoms. but you have 2 immune systems, one viral and one bacterial,( humoral and bacterial) so one is in overdrive and another one suppressed
One works in acidosis - bacterial, and one works in alkalosis viral. Virus lives in acidic environment , bacteria in alkaline.

Thus in alkalosis you dont get FLU.
And you do have alkalosis, if you took finasteride. only may be you have lactic acidosis on top of it now.
yes, you can kill COX you will feel better. You can take acids and you will feel better. You can take licorice and dexamethasone and you will feel better.

And you will get sick. Since it will increase the opposite immune system. Since all this will tank potassium in the cell. and this will increase 5 alpha reductase 2.
As I said, you dont get a flu in alkalosis. You do get cancer. And PFS and POIS body chemistry is cancer chemistry</r>

Given what you know now, does fasting induce acidosis and it's relation to immunity? Like how does it work with high cortisol since in theory your cortisol will be high in a fasted state? Also I've seen you mention exercise while in a fasted state is even more benefical can you explain why?</r>

Fasting doesn't cause severe metabolic acidosis because CO2 production decreases after a while without food. But ketones and fatty acids, which are elevated in a fast, are weak acids, and do push things slightly towards a more acidic nature, but it is mild. If you are sick and your kidneys/lungs aren't working good, you can get fasting induced metabolic acidosis, but that is rare. Only happens in very sick and old people for the most part.

Cortisol does increase in a fast. Just remember, the body has to do everything it can to maintain serum potassium/sodium levels because if they become too low your heart stops working properly. So because you aren't consuming any potassium during a fast, your body has to get it from somewhere because it will continue to slowly lose it through sweat/feces/urine - so it draws it from inside cells.</r>

This intrigues me. For the record, I don't understand shit when it comes to this. Since I have had PFS, I have often said that my immune system is screwed up where in some cases it seems like it is overactive and in other cases under active. I never get the flu or common cold any more so in this case works too well. On the flip side (background- I took fin for a cystic acne condition), when I have an acne flair up, it takes a lot longer to heal an acne cyst compared to pre-PFS. So in this case, immune system doesn't seem to work as well. Also, now when I get a bruise (I bruise easily since PFS), it takes longer for my bruise to heal.

I guess the not getting flu vs acne not healing speaks to viral vs bacterial immune system?</r>

Interesting, so in theory when you say the body will draw potassium from inside the cells that is essentially the same reason it "tanks" potassium, which is where one of the benefit would be for PFS?

Also do you have any insight on why exercise in a fasted state is even more beneficial? Is it because you sweat and lose potassium even more and the makes the body draw more potassium out from inside the cell?</r>

You are not the only one, we all in our whatsapp group had the better recoveries of symptoms while being ill somehow constipation whatever. Thats why we have related this with PFS. Also it has been studied that if you take Dexamathose or other inmune depresors 5ar1 enzyme activity increases a lot. 5ar1 enzyme is what creates the neurosteroids in the brain not 5ar2, and thats why Melcangi showed us that we had very low 5ar metabolites in CNS no matter how much T or DHT we have in blood. There is a important relationships, Gbolv only mentions 5ar2, but I have had good 5ar enzyme working at least in skin ( better sebum ) but horrible sides.</r>

It does not matter how you call it. I think 5 alpha R2 creates the neurosteroids. and not 5 alphaR 1. The mechanism is what I outlined. it does not matter how you call it 5 alpha r1 or 5 alpha 2.

the bottom line is 5 alpha that I am talking about is different from the one converting testosterone into DHT.( if you call that 5ar2 , then I am talking about 5 ar1)

Dexamethasone increases 5 alpha reductase2. since this reductase breaks down cortisol to it metabolites. It does not matter how you call it, I think this is too confusing. 5 alpha 1 or 2. it does not matter.

this is why I mentioned dexamethasone and licorice.

What matters is that 5 alpha reductase which is inhibited because of cortisol and progesterone discrepancy. And the fix for all of this is outlined in the mineral approach.</r>

<t>5ar2 and 5ar1 have different functions, the only one present in the brain is 5ar1 and seem to be opposed by T/DHT in blood, while 5ar2 ( sebaceous glands, prostate ) seems to be activated more by T/DHT in blood pointing to an inverse mechanism related to androgens. You definetly should check that out. Melcangi Pointed that we had very low neurosteroids that comes from 5ar1 in CNS. 5ar2 has no functions on brain.</t>

5ar2 and 5ar1 have different functions, the only one present in the brain is 5ar1 and seem to be opposed by T/DHT in blood, while 5ar2 ( sebaceous glands, prostate ) seems to be activated more by T/DHT in blood pointing to an inverse mechanism related to androgens. You definetly should check that out. Melcangi Pointed that we had very low neurosteroids that comes from 5ar1 in CNS. 5ar2 has no functions on brain.

5 alpha R2 is what controls glucocorticoids.

This is why when you feed glucocorticoids the expression of this enzyme goes up. This is how finasteride screws everything over by effecting cortisol and progesterone.
I just took finasteride huge dosages 3 weeks ago. and had a huge crash. And today I am back to normal already.

Here is what I am taking. Put some accent on copper and magnesium at the start to lower potassium levels.

I am taking 3000 potassium chloride, (1/8 th of tea spoon)
magnesium gluconate 500-700
copper 4-6mg
zinc 30mg
taurine 2g
b2 -100
boron 2
calcium 200
Also I take ACE( acezatolmide) here and there 250mg
Also I added tons of spinach to this protocol

after a week
once a week thorne extra
and iron with manganese

What was the incentive for taking fin again if I may ask? Also as far as diet is concerned when you did the mineral protocol as you outlined, did you eat in any particular way/ have any dietary restrictions that you set upon yourself?</r>

So it this the same protocol you used to recover recently, or just what you are taking now post recovery? And after a week of taking those minerals, did you stop taking them and then hit your body with NAD/ Iron with manganese. Or simply adding those a week after.
Thanks for your posts by the way, much appreciated.</r>
