@bruschi11 CFS is the lack of both SUGAR and FAT metabolism.

it happens, since carnitine cant be methylated. and NADPH cant be made. also.

Thus what happens is people start burning PROTEIN for fuel.

This lowers biotin and creates TONS OF AMMONIA>

this is why if you give carnitine, it at least gives you fat metabolism)) and ammonia goes down

Exactly. I’m doing tons tons better on fats. Kefir has been soo good for me with it.

Makes so much sense and I’m glad you’ve been able to explain it for me.

TEI has me on lots of biotin this round. Also remember that glycine blocks carnitine, so you want to avoid it.

I have been using a half teaspoon of Carnitine twice a day for the past month or so to try and lose some stubborn abdominal fat I have had for as long as I can remember, and it has been working great. In the two years I have had PFS I don't think I have lost any weight before except for the long fast that I did, so I guess my Carnitine hasn't been working until now. I also noticed a little increased strength at the gym / fuller muscles along with bouts of increased libido that come and go but I had no idea what was causing it. Guess it was the Carnitine?

yes

but carnitine creates oxidative stress, thus to make carnitine, body uses glutathione components etc.

thus if people take carnitine long term, they probably should take it together with ALA

Good stuff.

I also heard choline helps Carnitine absorption. For instance, hour after injection all these “bodysculpters” and health enthusiasts would load up on carby meal like oatmeal and fruit along with supplemental choline to create maximum absorbtion.

I've read about carnitine on propeciahelp.com years ago. Never tried it, but I know a few mentioned it did them very well in the sexual department. Guess it raises testosterone.

I've added in onto my "what if TEI doesn't work" list.

it will raise LH. since androgens are allowed only when fats are working

I think combo Carnitine and ALA is good for chelation, and may be overtime, it will chelate all the bad stuff and the body will work in producing carnitine it self,

especially if you add B vitamins to the mix, plus zinc magnesium manganese biotin, etc.

ALA will take off pressure of glutathione recycling.

I’m on biotin. I’ll list on my log. We could move this Carnitine talk over to my log if you want @Boris for slayo’s sake.

My thing is... Carnitine with tei. That’s what I’m pumped about currently. Where Carnitine is making my balancing set of supplements (similar to tei) work. My body can handle zinc, manganese, moly and b’s daily which is hugeee for me.

SO when I had CFS, there was No metabolism of fats nor sugars?? JESUS that was fucked

yeah CFS is when no metabolism of fats no sugar, and body instead works on protein.

it breaks down protein for sugar, wastes a lot of biotin.
and also creates tons of ammonia

Push ups and kettle bell swings the other day.. my muscle pumps haven’t felt this way afterward since last winter.

It felt so nice like a good soreness, something I had been missing. Clearly my body was now rebuilding muscle rather than wasting it for energy.

This has been issue of mine since 2011.

Emotions are coming back currently as well. Loving music, crying a bunch lol with happiness.

I’m doing a lot of stuff including l-norvaline which i have yet to mention.

So you are on TEI with carnitine and norvaline?

@brix I'm on bunch of stuff right now lol.

I'm running a methylation centric version of TEI with a practitioner. She wanted me on regular carnitine and I was like "you know what, I've loved injectable carnitine in times past (based on studies I read on forum way back, its far more effective)." So I asked if I could use the injectable L-carn and she was fine with it.

But I'm also currently on antibiotics, norvaline, and lyme herbals trying to kill lyme while trying to build up my gut with kefir/colostrum/probiotics. Remove a bunch of pathogenic species from my system while putting in good bacteria.

The good bacteria is a crutch right now, I realize it'll get killed by antibiotics for most part. But its helping me stay regular with bowel movements as I kill my lyme with antibiotics, norvaline, even a little bit of urine injections I'm doing weekly or so. When I kill lyme, ammonia goes up and its tough for body to deal with but I get a good helping hand from carnitine and methylation supplements.

Taking zinc, manganese, molybd, magnesium at night- sure I'm having some issues when I swallow it like minor to mediocre chelation symptoms at night, but they also seem to balance my brain to produce more dopamine/ create emotions.

dude, she is giving you the protocol that I posted, and carnitine is part of every methylation protocol
