Some nootropics info...

I found this posting on Tumblr... it looks like a collection of forum posts but it reads like something we should be aware of... I've said choline before... we've all known of dopamine and prolactin... etc... just seems like a good read and some suggestions... I take no credit for this writing. (@TubZy maybe we should have a nootropics section as it seems to be gaining following and could help PFS & PSSD)

You need acetylcholine to get boners.
Ach = P-ANS innervation in a lot of the body = boners
Like silvy also mentioned you need serotonin regulation for boners. Inositol might be pretty decent at regulating serotonin in different parts of the body (particularly in the spinal cord, it would seem). Inositol and Choline also go well together regardless of whether you’re taking nootropics or not.
I have a feeling that piracetam affects testosterone levels in some way. Noopept seems to as well. It’s strange because it seems to increase libido on an acute basis, but lower it long term.
I’m very interested in this. I’ve noticed less strong erections, but no apparent loss in sex drive after only 4 days on noopept. How about DHT?
Roughly, regarding erections, testosterone only affects your nightly (sleeping) erections. Dopamine is what affects your daytime (awake) erections, and piracetam affects dopamine – there’s your explanation for the stronger erections.
As for making your erections weaker in the long term, I’m guessing it’s because your dopamine receptors become desensitized. This would explain why during the cycling he had reduced libido (desensitized dopamine receptors + less dopamine). Your receptors go back to normal after 1-3 months, depending on the strength and duration of the stimulus.
What I’m describing is the role of dopamine in addiction: this might be of interest.
Testosterone levels affect many different systems, including your immune system. Also, it’s too simplistic to say testosterone only affects nightly erections, since it is a large factor in ED.
Sulbutiamine sensitizes dopamine receptors no?
is there anything that downregulates your libido?
Serotonin has receptor subsets for increasing and decreasing libido, but indiscriminately increasing serotonin might reduce libido (SSRI-induced sexual dysfunction); I guess that anti-libido receptor has more presence of affinity for serotonin. Also, not sure how safe increasing serotonin just for libido would be.
I have also heard that beta-blockers might but I am not sure about that one, prolactin should normally be quite suppressive (as its spike after orgasm quells the prolibido effects of dopamine) but I am unsure how indufcing this would fare from a nootropic standpoint.
Is there anything that downregulates your libido?
Traditional anti-depressants, or suppressing your intake of zinc + selenium. And to quickly answer the opposite, unasked question…
Is there anything that upregulates your libido?
Zinc + Selenium, if deficient.
Physiological and emotional energy associated with the sex drive.
both the sympathetic and para-sympathetic nervous systems are responsible for sexual arousal, erections, orgasm, and ejaculation.
the dopaminergic and adrenergic operate on the sympathetic NS.
epinephrine (adrenaline), norepinephrine (noradrenaline) and dopamine, (the s-NS neurotransmitters) have been shown to have marked pro-libido effect
whilst the sympathetic nervous system is responsible for “sexual arousal” - erections, orgasm and ejaculation is controlled by the para-sympathetic NS.
you need a careful synergy between the sympathetic and para-symapethetic NS’s - between arousal and relaxation.
Desire and libido is created in the brain by dopamine; when you are low on dopamine your energy for and interest in sex wanes, as well as your performance
Arousal is initiated by acetylcholine; when cognitive functioning and internal moisture goes awry and your acetylcholine becomes depleted, you will not be able to focus on sex, let alone maintain your attention and stimulation.
GABA is your “get started” brain chemical. It controls your anxiety; you will not be able to achieve an orgasm if you are tense. GABA and progesterone are intricately linked.
Resolution is related to serotonin. If serotonin becomes depleted, your timing is off. You’re either coming to the party too early or too late.
The two chemicals of pleasure can be stimulated and sustainably increased by nootropic intake. Nootropics: 5-HTP, Bacopa, Green Tea, L-Tyrosine, Vitamin B12 and Phenylalanine.
Inositol, a naturally occurring compound in the body, works as a nootropic by aiding in the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter responsible for feelings of well-being. Adding it as a supplement boosts serotonin levels to reduce stress.
Sulbutiamine This nootropic increases dopamine and dopamine (D1) receptor density in the prefrontal cortex. Sulbutiamine actually seems to have the effect of increasing the amount of dopamine circulating within the brain.

-Can I take Citocoline (or alpha-gpc, a precursor to choline) forever? I think not... but say 24/30 days and sometimes none for weeks (kind of how I use stimulants at times).
-What does Choline dominance look and or feel like?

-Safe enough with Dex, long term (breaks from both, sometimes using only coffee, and sometimes using none, sometimes using other things, like Lithium orotate).
-On vacations, none of any except likely Nicotine and Caffeine (a true vacation, I can if must be not use those either... been a long time though).
-I haven't smoked nor drank alcohol since Jan 6, 2018.
-Is Uridine possibly better for me... I think all noots need to be cycled on and maybe some off too, to prevent serious issues. I'm fine with choline, choline and dex, and those and coffee.... I've taken phenylpiracetam and also noopept -- these 2 are ok, but I have a script (usually at least, before PFS) for something better (i.e. Dex).
-Also somewhat interested in sulbutiamine.

-I posted this info status updates (June 24), used some choline since March or so... around time I first started R-Andro (possibly Mid Feb).

-I've been using 2 forms of choline.
-Also I'm interested in Uridine. Most wouldn't take Citicoline/cdp-choline with uridine, as Citicholine increases Uridine anyways. Uridine has been effective in pediatric BP.
-***All that last statement means here, is that if it's safe enough for kids, it should be safe for me.***
- I know several people who literally take pediatric doses of mood stabilizers for BP.

-I may buy that too.
-A potential stack: Citocholine+Phenylpirecetam or AGPC + Ph+Uridine people have taken.

-I have used those no ill effects mostly in short term.
-A-GPC ---> some agitation lowered, but kind of addicted to exercise, so it's good and bad.
-Citocoline cuts some bad habits so that's good.

Trying one at a time. -Actually tried. --Just need Uridine.
-Hey, it's better than Rx meds.
-Doing it in careful titration + ending anything harmful.

that TUMBLR post makes some sense in areas.
It's hard to get noots right, and most stick to one to two things, optimal stackability is hard to achieve, and most quit.
Some even run into issues with serotonin syndrome, severe depression, psychosis, etc. Anxiety, suicidal ideation, and planning (that's probably really rare, and I don't know about choline, but I think the more exotic ones, may have that risk for some).
Likely, not for me if slowly titrated on, and cut off if need be.

Yes.

True in a sense, pure anxiety = erection killer. And mood... and sex killer too. Hell horrible anxiety can be a "dream" killer too. Kills a person's ambitions and dreams.
Hence, some of them self-medicate to numb themselves.

Ello. Is choline by itself enough sometimes for ADD/ mood... say one person had only one of those? I may have both but still.
-Safe on TEI?
-Highly doubt it would kill me.... but double checking.

dont take extra stuff on TEI

Choline lowers metabolism.

Carnitine lowers metabolism. carnitine lowers thyroid hormones, this decreases the conversion of progesterone into allopregnenolone, so decreases 5 AR. this increases expression of androgen receptor.

People seem to only see increases androgen receptor )) but never see decreases 5AR. Things always work both ways. to increase AR expression you need to kill DHT.

Ok ok thanks. ))
So follow 100% of directions?? As closely as possible.
Are enemas involved in the TEI prgm?
So I need to KIll DHT and regrow hair, decrease facial hair? Don't I needs DHT?
I got stronger (like 14-17months after) fin... maybe I have the case where AR is overexpressed? No, I don't know, I'm just wondering..... fuck.
Initially I got way weaker.

Tried some enemas... but did not work during extended fast, likely would now... I think it worked 1/3x but after refeed and 3-5mo later digestion improved like 1000x over.

Ah I see kind of what you're saying... that's why I need to kill DHT... I guess that's fine, it may possibly calm me the fuck down in the process too...
I just hope no severe depression results.

Dr Wilson says coffee enema’s are a vital part of his program and very beneficial while on ARL. Or am I mistaken you?

Never said he was. He still advices coffee enema’s as a must on a nutritional balancing program. I would like to hear Helen’s opinion why we shouldn’t.. :)

You can use coffee enemas. I have them in electrolytes protocol. but I have tons of electrolytes there.

Many people do bad on coffee enemas since they cause loss of electrolytes. It is like vomiting in some cases. And this can cause worsening of the alkalosis.

Wilson has nothing to do with biochemistry or ARL or TEI. It is just a guy practitioner who puts people on ARL programs, and tries to be the best practitioners by writing nonsense on his web site.

Some of it is good, but most biochemical stuff and additions re bad.

I was put on wilsons program at first, He changed my program which was given by ARL. I felt so bad on that it was crazy. and also my tumors are trippled on his stupid program.

I also used red light sauna and all other bullshit. My tumors just trippled on that and where I had the light on. light increases adrenaline and slow oxidziers are alkaline already. thus for me it caused the spread of the infection.

So I quit all that bullshit, and went on original ARL, and in a month I got better.

He also put on on OMEGA 3

I think now I would probably use TEI. since Watts worked with ECk at least and they created the program, and WIlsons and Nancy Eck are cluless in biochemistry and

and now they are changing things like adding methylated B vitamins and that and this. Those were never on original programs.

I was never on a new ARL program. There were zero methylated vitamins in that original Ecks program.

Thanks. That's the same reason why I can't do more than one enema per week, because they rip away electrolytes and make me dehydrated. Liver flushes are even worse. I also think Wilson is a cockwomble, but he still provides a lot of spot on information on nutritional balancing, which I like to follow. I filter out his weird views on life and some of his very holistic approaches. I also do red heat lamp/infrared therapy, but I am seriously doubting if it does anything at all. I feel the infrared sauna's I grab every once and a while are useful, though.

New hair test mailed in. Will do another ARL-round without anything else. No emema's or anything. Might try TEI thereafter.

phosphatidylserine vs phosphatidylcholine - 2 Phospholipids

Feed Your Brain | Life Extension

Cognitex Review by Life Extension: Ingredients, Side Effects and Benefits

More later falling asleep basically phospholipd molecules that can sharpen cognition and help Alzheimer's, ADHD, cognitive decline, confusion. And possibly also PFS. As well as can be used in liposomal supplements to help bypass(something) to help reach brain as per Slayo*.

I slept like 2 hrs in near 40-42 hrs. And did biological sciences a long fking time ago (and it was hard), edit later. (LOOK I was a poor confused kid at the time, and later manic).
Bright eyes tho, optimistic back then... till 20 or so.

I have spontaneous erections 6-8/10 sometimes better... w/ thought alone, same at 24, 25, etc when practicing nofap. MESSED up tho recently... BUT* also with no stims and no choline, etc. --> this is just a side note showing sexual health can in fact return, and much like I should have started NOFAP at 18 before antidepressants and done it earlier, post antidepressant, I should continue it now. ---> I literally look and act 6-7yrs younger (not so good), but would be more if not for damage of FIN and also this crap Lamotrigine (like 1000s of hair lost per week, in 12.5 weeks). Maybe only 6-8 of those weeks or 2 weeks, I can't remember. That's why I took Fin.

-Anyways, I look forward to using Citocoline and Dexedrine and Lithium Orotate as needed; with some regularity in the future, but for now will use TEI --shipped.
