I am running the same protocol, I just miss the 500mg potassium chloride and 500mg mag chloride that I am still waiting to arrive.
By now I feel better in general, I hope these stuff will cure all of us.
I am also on a low carbs diet, but wow, it is so difficult since in Italy the main dish is based on pasta and pizza. LOL))

Haha I’m an Italian American Wuf. People all assume I’m a big pasta guy looking at me and I’ve probably only touched it once in the last 6 months.

LOL.
I don't know if you even know how much pasta/pizza we eat over here.
The issue is, our food is so delicious and it has big quality and special taste that it is seriously hard to don't fall on it... So many kind of pasta/pizza coocked in different ways with special sauces on it, fresh and delicious.
I have been in the States many times and, the pasta or whatever italian food you try to replicate, even replicated in the italian restaurants (owned by italian fellas), it is seriously 80% far away from what real italian food is (if you are ita/amer guy, you know what I am talknig about).
Said this I am staying away from carbos.. I only eat some bread here and there, potatoes, veggies.
But basically I am on a low carbo diet, but I don't even know and I did not understand if this is critical for the recovery... I onestly do very good on carbo, I am super lean, no fat at all, so no issue for me even to only eat 100% carbo.

You dont need to stay away from carbs. This is not a keto diet. You need to not overeat carbs or only carbs, and eat carb according to your energy expenditure.
There is nothing wrong with taking the protein that you bought. Eating protein with carbs is good, eating only protein is not good.

I still haven't hit Italy yet. When I recover I'm coming and eating everything!!!!!

Still doing very well. I actually dropped my magnesium dose way down and still good results (maybe I'm starting to retain some now). I was at 500mg, then I dropped to 250mg, now I dropped to 100mg with each meal and still feel great.

Too much mag screws me though, so be careful.

you were having 500mg mag chloride with each meal?

thats 1500mg a day + dietary sources (lets say 300) so 1800mg and the RDI is 400 ... so yeah a fair bit over. Although saying that sometimes i'm having 90mg zinc and the maximum RDI for that is 11-40 lol

Lol no, only 1000mg. The other post in the other thread you just quoted me said I was eating two meals a day. I'm back to eating three meals a day now, 100mg mag each meal with still 500mg potassium chloride. I think I'm retaining it now, because I still get the same effect, even with dramatically lower doses now. Potassium is the big gun though

@m_arch those 400mg RDI are elemenal magnesium ! And Tubzys 1000mg are only 12% magnesium. So he gets 120mg of magnesium out of this.

Cant mix different magensium or potassium types with elemental suggestions. You always need how much elemental you want.

For example with 1g of magnesium malate you only get 65mg of magnesium.
With 1g of magnesium oxide you would get 600mg.

They can be really different.

I have one magnesium 400 supplement saying its 102% RDI and it contains around 670mg of magnesium oxide in it.
But when I use magnesium chloride I would need to take 3g to get the same amount of magnesium. Thats why they use magnesium oxide for small magnesium tablets. And because its cheap lol.

Im pretty sure when you look at your zinc supplement, if its for example zinc gluconate then its around 770mg of zinc gluconate providing 90mg zinc.
So if you take 90mg zinc, are you taking 90mg elemental zinc? or 90 mg gluconate =10mg zinc.

Its zinc picolinate the one i use. It says 21% on a website i found is elemental. So... im only getting 18.9mg elemental.

So the rdi is for elemental minerals/vitamins??? What the f!

Are vitamin supplements in their elemental form? Is it just minerals we have to watch out for?
Is the zinc content of foods in its elemental form? 1 oyster has 9mg zinc, does that mean elemental zinc?

Holy shit this is so confusing why didn't i know of this before.

So you need 3300mg of magnesium chloride to get 400mg of elemental zinc?

It says

zinc (as zinc picolinate)30 mg

Zinc 30

What do you reckon? Is this elemental or not? Hard to tell

@m_arch thats 30mg elemental zinc. And if you read that oysters do have 9 mg zinc that’s elemental zinc as well of course.

RDI is elemental, they don’t know if you use malate or oxide.

Depends on what you buy. If you buy 400mg magnesium capsules they are most likely 400mg elemental form. They often don’t say what type or how much. But you pay for "400mg magnesium".

But if you buy powder, you need to calculate the content on your own.

Sometimes you can tell the way they write.
On my supplement it says : zinc gluconate (387 mg), providing 50 mg , 500%
Yours: zinc (as zinc picolinate)30 mg
yours just tells you elemental zinc, and what kind is in “( )“ but not the actual weight of zinc picolinate

If it was Zinc picolinate ----- 30mg, you would have 6mg zinc per tablet.
