Was this a week after you stopped taking var? And any more update on how you’re feeling? Liver enzymes def went up. Also curious how your cholesterol was affected.

it was like 1.5 weeks after stopping. My libido is still good just not as many erections while on var. My energy and and overall mood is a bit wonky, kinda up and down still. The B1 def helps with energy and mood though, but if I overdo it gets too stimulating. Yes, liver enzymes did go up a bit, I was also drinking a few times during cycle too, but I'm sure var did elevate them a bit. Cholesterol prob doesn't look that good TBH considering I didn't really start off in the best shape to begin with, I kind of don't want to see it right now lol. The two major sides of var is lipids and liver values, I was doing 20mg a day, but 10mg a day is prob plenty, maybe even less if you can get like 5mg. I just have the pure powder so measuring out 2.5mg or 5mg is like literally nothing and super hard. The odd thing is I had no suppression on cycle as you can see from test and LH levels in which I thought they would be hit the hardest given the study done on 15mg.

@brix do you have starting bloods pre var?

Nope but my bloods have been consistent over the last few years. T in 400s, borderline high cholesterol, prolactin around 10. Never have had prog or dht done but assuming dht is high.

The study I read that gave people .1mg/kg of body weight saw higher test. This equates to around 10mg a day, which I’ve been doing. But yeah drinking on var is no bueno. Did that the other night and hangover was the worst. Probably very taxing on the liver.

I wonder if there is any point in doing short cycles. Like 3-4 days.

Yeah, we dont really know. An aspect that var could help is that it can retain potassium and this would over time force the body to adjust so when you come off body will be adjusted differentley, but that could only he for one case

Yeah, I’m thinking this applies to those with high Na/K ratio which coincides with high androgens. I have low Na/K and low test so I’m dropping var for now.

what has your results been so far with it?

Had really high libido first day, followed by lower libido. Didn’t even want sex with my girl for a few days. No morning wood either. But since coming off it’s better than before var. don’t know if long cycles are necessary.

I should make my own log for this but I wanted to update my progress because I also tried Anavar ( I got it from Napsgear and read reviews of quality which seemed good.) In the past I had good success with Ella then progesterone. In fact I was off everything essentially last June and July and I thought I was possibly cured or very close. But unfortunately late July I slowly started having more libido problems. Libido/ED are my main issue. Anyway, I got labs and interestingly DHT and testosterone at upper level. I thought the Anavar was an interesting option. I took Anavar 10mg twice daily for two days Sept 25, 26th. On the 25th I felt great and mildly higher libido and the 26th I was feeling moderately anxious and started having second thoughts about trying Anavar because the trial results were not reported. Because I still believe that progesterone has some place in the recovery protocol, I did topical progesterone small dose for three days. I started having a headache 4 days ( which could have been from Anavar or Progesterone or a combo) after stopping Anavar so I took 1/4 tab of Caber ( as I have found this resolves my headaches and the headache I believe is a sign my prolactin is going up.) By day 5 after stopping Anavar my libido was much higher than normal on a scale of 1-10 I'd rate at a 9. On the sixth day post anavar I was sweating much more and a lot more B.O. ( So f'ing weird that this crap messed us up so much that having BO is actually something you look forward to!!!) So for the past week I'd say I am at a higher base line estimate 8/10 on scale. So in my opinion, the trial is successful but more details regarding exact regimen need to be worked out. Time will tell if this is an important part of a recovery regimen. IMO I believe Boris is correct that short cycles may be a better option than longer cycles. FYI I have tried topical testosterone in the past and never had a good result. I tried inj testosterone 1 1/2 years ago and that did nothing. So IMO Anavar has a different effect.

Progesterone pushes 11 beta hsd in slow oxidizer. and helps increasing cortisol.

what I saw that slow oxidizers have high DHT. That is why progesterone helps you , but does not fix you.

Brix is fast oxidizer and benefit from lowering cortisol which var lowers

You can have libido increases from progesterone with nothing else. especially if combined with caber))

Slow oxidizer with high DHT, loses SODIUM in the urine.

And thus by increasing dopamine action you allow less sodium to be lost. This is the same as PSSD people.

I dont get why people just take everything all together , basically doing 2 opposite things.

Is this the same mechanism as for the people who got screwed from pot, then went on some kind of stimulant/cocaine and fixed their pot induced "PSSD"?

---Depending on how you look at it I kind of did this , however, it was for sure Effexor that made me have PSSD (also PMO hurt it but huge decline with PSSD, came back crazy good later, but it was ***hard*** and lucky, I guess too.
-Weed during that time and after and even now, made staying power during sex better****. --Also obviously, I'm too disorganized to say: I did 1. 2. 3. and PSSD was gone. It was haphazard*. --also nofap. I started like 23 but obv... kept messing up.
-Nofap 45 46 40 days in a row several times and by that time quitting all drugs; helped. --But coke never hurt it, sure addiction did. But* PMO hurt it, and such.
-Should have just done 200days in a row. But messing up a little after 40 days, not a huge deal for me, but it is a slippery slope*. After 1-7d tho feels bad.
-Requires intense discipline and focus. Some claim 1200-4000days I don't know man, I'm sure some have tho.
-Also weed for me was like... 2-3x a year or 1.5 years, outside of one year on Effexor (surroundings/ friends all smokers then -- big mistake* esp on Effexor, with mania).
-OK coke and PMO hurt it and coke and alcohol and various other things, most likely; but I am certain SNRI/SSRI, alcohol, etc worse for sure.
-Like if you drink a lot and have sex, ... it's not as good as sober. --AND weed, sometimes great ... sometimes so confused can't even remember how to talk (for me* so ya).
-I hate weed more than all those drugs above except: Effexor.
-I do not doubt tho Weed can cause sexual issues esp in habitual users. Not to mention Motivational Problems... and yeah for ppl like me -- mania/depression, worse ADHD.

-WEED all day everyday = bad for motivation and probably therefore sex too. It affects me way too strongly to do that tho, outside of microdoses. I can't function in life like that. -Huge difference 2 to 20x a yr vs everyday.
-Anything that makes me feel dumber, usually I discard immediately. --Also * weed while crashing in PAS PSSD PFS* likely a very bad idea*.

Thanks for you input. In your opinion, would Anavar be helpful? I have higher DHT 83 with range -85. I read a comment ( I believe you said) that Anavar may help if DHT is already high. Regarding the progesterone, you are right in that it didn't fix me but I have to say that it significantly helped me for several weeks.

I mean it helped me for several weeks after stopping everything. I remember thinking at the beginning of July that I may have finally cured this crap. But then after a couple more weeks I relapsed. Depressing!! I wounder if it is because my Prolactin slowly increased and that resulted in the relapse.

This is from what we have seen so far:

high DHT people from what I have seen are slow oxidizers. they feel cured on cortisol.supps. they are opposite of anavar people. ( who feel cured on anavar like tubzy, ihatefin.)) . Belikewater , talkingant , those guys did not have libido on anavar. Probably because they are high DHT people.

May be these groups do better on snap backs after they quit anvar. Although talkingant did not report any improvements after he quit .

Slow oxidizers( high DHT people ) run on adrenaline, and thus lose sodium, thus DHT is high. since these people have no aldosterone action. and DHT increases aldosterone.

May be these people would react to vitamin b1 plus huge sodium load.( we are trying it out now)

Cortisol can also cure these people ,but the dosages has to be found . Since if you take too much cortisol you just go from slow oxidizers problems into fast oxidizers problems.

people need to find such a dose of cortisol, very very low and slowly raise it until they feel totally cured,

then stay on this dosage for 2 months and then quit. And body will learn how to live on this amount of cortisol

this is why there were cases on propecia forum when person cured himself with dexamethasone.( you might read about it)

Unfornunately progesterone wastes more sodium while increasing cortisol. this is why it does not hold.

When sodium is retained. body will lower DHT , since DHT increases aldosterone.

When sodium goes up , this will decrease adrenaline need and conversions of dopamine into noradrenaline and adrenaline will go down. Thus prolactin will automatically fall.

And since adrenaline will go down, fatty acids in blood will go down, so the body will have to convert progesterone into cortisol to get sugar into blood, since fatty acids are down now.

As of now people with high DHT simply have too much adrenaline , and thus too many fatty acids in blood. And this stops progesterone into cortisol conversions.

since cortisol is simply not needed. The body feeds on fat.

Another possible cure for these people will be 3 grams of niacin a day. this will stop adrenaline production.

I am trying this with 2 people now. IF this works I will write it all out.

My BO is so bad that I stink the second I’m out of the shower. Lol. What does this indicate @Helen? High androgens?

Guys, if some people try anavar, please dont mix it with other gazillion things.

You need to understand that anavar blocks cortisol. and this will cause anxiety until your body learns how to live on adrenaline only, it is like fasting for 3-4 days.

So it is obvious to feel that anxiety. It usually goes away.

Also taking it for 2 days, does nothing really.
