Just wondering if anyone ever became or acted "perpetually high" after SSRI's or SNRI's.
TL;DR --> anyone else seem permanently high after SSRI's/SNRI's. Or after beating PSSD?
---------
In high school I was straight-edge, barely even drank. I had friends that smoked a lot of marijuana, and I remember thinking one of them was "perma fried".
As in always seeming high/stupid even without smoking.
I am not talking about that kind of high -- I'm talking about the kind of apparent high that someone who uses a lot of cocaine or speed would have.
It's quite possible I was always like that (probable even), just worsened in my 20's. Also the people asking "are you high?" are like me and are sometimes high.
-or they're not joking and they're just squares and judgemental. I'm not worried about it, I just wonder if I was always like that or not.
Also, does anyone know why idiot family doctors and even psychiatrists try and give people Effexor as a first line treatment for ADHD? (Not mine, but plenty of doctors I've seen that don't know what they're talking about). G.P.'s are the worst -- they have absolutely no business prescribing or even discussing psychiatry, neurology, or endocrinology.
I don't know a single person that has ADHD and ever got better on SSRI's/SNRI's, let alone Effexor. Obviously I would never go back to Effexor (I have experienced way better things prescribed and otherwise). I'm just wondering. Certainly none of that is good for hyperactive ADD. Maybe inattentive people have better results with those kind of meds. Mostly they're just playing russian roulette and looking at checklists. If I could pay money to skip ahead and only ever see specialists (which is kind of what I did throughout my mid 20's), I would.
Also before anyone says its cuz of drug use -- I'm totally functional (or was) on the stronger stimulants, actually acted more normal than when I was on nothing. Closer to functional and normal than ever. Real drugs are targeted selectively on the right target... not sledgehammers that alter functioning without discrimination.
As far as I'm concerned finasteride and effexor are worse than real drugs (the ones that work and serve a purpose, not the ones created by pharma-douches and mktg). Also marijuana's pretty bad too for me, while on effexor, afterwards, and most times after PFS. Even with a clean bill of health - mj has ruined many nights for me (not using now). I hate it.
The only people who ever commented on it in a bad judgemental way were jerks anyways and I realized later they use drugs anyways... I had legit reasons too, they were just self-righteous douchebags, with money to burn.

-Also my dual diagnosis is a pretty obvious answer for why I seem like that. But they also don't know jack about that. Some do... but they ignore the major damage in treating both, and act like they save so many lives. Also they can't prove much.
-Perhaps people who only associate energy with being high and haven't lived like I have... they just assume it. Most people are dumb anyways so it doesn't bother me.
-Anyone else seem this way after antidepressants.
- @Ghost says they can definitely worsen ADD. So that may be part of it as well.
