Sounds like he was overdosing on the iron in shilajit everyday until he crashed.

omg I've been researching it like crazy for it's detox and hormonal stasis benefits... I have not heard of a review like this but gives me pause... I wish he wrote all he was taking to see if there was a nasty combo but if it's the shilajit doing it... yikes

Other friends of mine have tried it and felt nothing... I find prices range wildly though I did find a small >$10 tester on Amazon that I was going to order but was already waiting based on what I'm currently cycling and continue to research ...

Sometimes you miss something that is bad for us, like berberine HCL which I found was helpful supposedly but then I found (After 8 days of taking it) , it blocks the affects of DHT so in the trash that bottle went...

Anyways, thank you for posting that review ... I'm holding off from ordering it anyhow but good to know...

very recently started taking shilajit (good source from amazon) seems to be pretty effective, detox symptoms arent too fun and i have also read somewhere that it lowers serotonin (i hope temporarily) i was wondering if anyone knew how long for? definitely been feeling low since starting to take it about 4-5days ago now...

found this on the internet earlier:

"Well here's why Shilajit lowers Serotonin temporarily.....so that you dont start flying in the air
icon_twisted.gif
. With all those hormonal recharging going on from Shilajit action a guy will feel like a bull in the china shop. So lowered sero actually helps keep things calm."

sound about right?

anyone else on shilajit at the moment or taken it in the past who can give me their take on it as a supplement? would be great to hear....

@heygate what do you feel when you notice the serotonin lower? Tired?

And you said good source, what's the brand & cost?

I found a 'sample' size for around $10 so I was going to try... wondering what you got...

I'm not planning until October tho... and fyi, only use wooden spoon or chop stick, not metal... supposedly interacts with metal... (just passing my research along)

I've used Shilajit and have for almost a year and a half now daily. I used it throughout my recovery in PFS and now in my "normal" life post-recovery, with no issues whatsoever. Obviously, YMMV, but most of the people I know who use it, do so with no issue, so I consider it a non-issue.

@Walker which brand(s) do yo use and how much per day? do u mix it in food or empty stomach?

I use the Lost Empire Herbs (formerly Super Man Herbs) brand, and I use either the resin or the pitch depending on what they have available. 1g dosage, first thing in the AM before the gym.

I've taken it through most of my recovery thus far. Started in November or so. Definitely potent stuff. GBOLD has it in detox protocol for reason.

@joekool not tired as such just a bit low really, but i think its just detox symtoms, as bruschi11 said above its pretty potent !

this is the brand that i bought: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Premium-Sh...id=1526343047&sr=1-1&keywords=Nature+Provides

they seem pretty legit and they emailed some guy the lab results for the shilajit, and from the research iv done about how to spot real/fake stuff this seems to be the real thing.

and yeh iv been using a tooth pick, and very small doses so far, a small pea size

I've been using a golf tee lol. Yea its going to lower cortisol because you're blocking serotonin. Both might make you feel a little worse mentally depending on your situation.
haha not a bad idea with the golf tee...will the feeling a little worse pass?

Can nutraceuticals prevent Alzheimer's disease? Potential therapeutic role of a formulation containing shilajit and complex B vitamins. - PubMed - NCBI

If you read this study, you will find that Fulvic Acid can break up Tau protein tangles, part of the pathology in Alzh. They were looking at Shilajit as possibly helping with Alzh and found some non-stat relevant evidence that people do not deteriorate as fast when on Shilajit.

I have a personal friend who started having memory issues when they started taking Shilajit...not very scientific but I am betting that in some people, the ability of fulvic acid to clump onto Tau Proteins deteriorates memory. I think if you start noticing short term memory problems on Shilajit you should discontinue. I personally take it and have no problem.
