Why we no longer discuss Ella / RU?

Thanks Rebel. Well Oestradiol is in with the bundle anyway, so at least we'll have it. Pre-bloods will be this Friday. During the run I'll also do the same tests (day 3 or 4?) but I won't get the results back until after I'm done. Afterwards, miracle cure or not, I'll wait a week or two and do bloods again?

So, the sketch of the protocol looks like 400mg/day (AM) RU486.

Pre, during and post I'll be testing:

DHT
DHEA-S
FSH
LH
Test
Free Test (calc)
SHBG
FAI
Oestradiol
Prolactin
Albumin
Progesterone

I'll take nothing else, eat clean but normally, and try and exercise. Will log each day.

Just a quick note to say if this fucks up somehow it's on me, don't worry. :)

Any and all suggestions and recommendations very very welcome - go team Hackstasis.

Sounds good to me I think that is a lot of info which is good since there is not a lot of info around about it.

Wait more than a week or two after for bloods @jinstewart . I remember someone doing RU and a week after their hormones were allllll over the place.

I hope you realize what you’re getting yourself into lol this is the definition of an experiment at its finest. This drug is extremely extremely powerful.

I’d wait a month after This cycle to see the bloodwork.

Honestly no, not really. Slightly crappy immune system for a bit, slightly elevated risk of liver cancer - probably for that very month.

It's worth a punt though, and if we manage to shift PFS doing this then no question we'll save people. If not, we'll know not to try it! Wish me luck. :)

I’m excited to watch you.

The cancer, immune system stuff is so minor so nothing to worry about.

It’s the fatigue and fact you have to work each day while taking this stuff. I got whacked pretty hard by it, but it subsided as time went on.

Your dick may die very badly during this so be wary. I’d let any potential partner know you might be out of commission for a few weeks with the crazy prolactin surge.

If fatigue means sleep is better, top notch! Hehe.

I'll be unhappy if it's that bad, looking forward to the gym. Do we think it'll be reasonable to use caffeine (coffee/tea) during this?

I work in IT (business support, manage a couple of teams) and I've picked my battles, that week I'm free enough to lag HARD if I need to. Seriously though, just think if this actually sorts PFS...

Has anyone got Helen's insights? I'm reluctant to prod further. He also might actually want to think about it for a bit of course, which is reasonable.

EDIT - dick is pretty much out of commission now anyways. Honestly if it wasn't I'd pretty much be happy!

You seem like you’re a fast oxidizer, higher weak cortisol. This could be just what you need.

Could be, unfortunately I'm racing the TEI results from the other week, but expect those any day. Recent bloods for a cortisol test were:

Test - 20 (8.64-29)
Test/Cortisol Ratio - 0.05
Cortisol - 411 (166-507)

Any good?

Ya it’s higher end. I was expecting higher but you’re not in low cortisol which is huge here.

You really don’t want to go into this with low cortisol. Wouldn’t make sense.

Fact you’re working and able to work out quite a bit says to me you should be able to handle it. First 2-3 days really might hit you tho so please be aware lol. Maybe start on a Friday after work and give yourself the weekend to relax.

@jinstewart I found some more info on RU. I'll just copy and paste it here. But it seems higher dose yields shorter time and better results after ceasing. This guy and study was showing more impressive results with 600mg for only 4 days straight. Higher dose shorter time period may be even safer it seems in terms of side effects. May be worth a read.

If you look at this study in which mifepristone (RU 486) was used to treat major depression, they used a dose of 200 mg daily for up to eight weeks. That would make a course of mifepristone experiment incredibly expensive, in the order of $5000.

Another study using mifepristone for psychotic major depression used an even higher dose of 600 to 1,200 mg, but just for 7 days.

And a similar study for psychotic major depression used 600 mg of mifepristone daily for just four days, which resulted in substantial improvement in both depression and psychosis; this study commented that by abruptly blocking the glucocorticoid type II receptors, mifepristone
may cause a “resetting” of the HPA axis. Cortisol levels rise when mifepristone is taken because the feedback mechanism is partially disrupted, however, normal cortisol rhythm returns and seems to remain intact after mifepristone is discontinued. Short-term use of mifepristone may prove to be its most effective regimen.
So it looks like a short 4 day course of mifepristone at 600 mg daily can achieve this HPA axis reset, which may have long term benefits.

The above study says that mifepristone is a glucocorticoid type II receptor antagonist, but has very little effect on type I receptors.

Rash was a common side effect with mifepristone use (see the section entitled "Side effects of chronic mifepristone administration" in this paper). But if you are only taking mifepristone for 4 days, that hopefully may be too short a time for the rash to manifest.

I think slow oxidizers , need more cortisol supplement than RU.

WE had people recover on cortisol supps.

Hydrocortisone did nothing for the solvepfs community if taken alone. Dexa on the other hand was an instant stilt for most, only it caused a lot of other symptoms, mainly insomnia.

We need to experiment and see with RU. RU also blocks prog too so it is more than just cortisol. The RU doses we used were nothing compared to these studies. Have any people fully recovered on cortisol supps like after stopping though? I have seen people feeling better on cortisol as a stilt but they revert back when stopping the drug, I could be wrong though but I don't recall anyone fully recovering i thought it was just a stilt

Yeah that is what I thought as well. Didn't user name justquitdut use cortisol but he was taking like thyroid, TRT and other shit with it too. It was all a stilt though

He was doing basically crisler, chilln, allthingsmale type raising cortisol artificially to allow his body to utilize the TRT he was giving himself.

Basically raising potassium to digest the sodium (testo) correct me if I’m wrong @Helen .

These guys did it artificially and look where it got them. JQD sounded like a crazy mad man weirdo. Crisler killed himself. This is the stuff I told you to do when we met in very late 2016 @Boris lol. Sry bout that bud!

This is a stilt and when you come off you’re back to being messed up.

Things like hydrocortisone runs and dexamethasone can be run to reset system.

Hydrocortisone can be used for both- it definitely reset my system in 2014/2015 pre pfs. 5 months on 25mg per day then 2 month taper. System out of nowhere reset really when I was down to 2.5mg in the taper. The taper was brutal before that bad bad cfs symptoms.

A guy like @Moonman utilized HC throughout early to mid 2010s. He used it as a stilt like guys above where he would essentially run on cortisol say 30-40mg per day kind of like Dr. Hertoghe suggests. Similar to Crisler but no Testo.

We are going at it correctly now though. And I couldn’t be happier to be a part of it with you guys.

Bit of a tangent I went on there. But what I was trying to get at is that with RU we’re trying to reset system.

Similar to when I reset my system with hydrocortisone. And when guys have beat pfs with dexamethasone.

Several dexa stories out there. One had minor pfs and dexs used for back surgery completely fixed him and he was like “whoa shit.” Also a crazy older guy lawyer who recovered fairly recently and tried to starve himself to death at one point smh recovered with help of dexa. Said it really hit him out of nowhere like 20 days after I think. Same thing, used it for non pfs reasons.

@Boris Cytochrome recovered from cortisol supplements.

Cortisol will tank potassium and cause severe hypokalemia, it would do the opposite what progestin does.

Also it would get rid of copper from the cell, and upregulate progesterone receptor. and stops calcium activation.

May be for the fast oxidizer, it could be estrogen. to upregulate cortisol. and upregulate progesterone.

this is all connected also to A1A also

@Boris by the way, GHB activated of Gaba B receptor and is Calcium channel blocker.

So for slow oxidizers, it can block calcium , this speeds up metabolism. and increases their cortisol. and everything works.

Baclofen does similar things. activates GABA B also.

Was he on solvepfs or PH? It seems like blocking cortisol or turning off the body's endogenous production have it's benefits then on both side of the spectrum?

Yeah I think we talked this before with phenibut. Phenibut also activates GABA B but unfortunately majority of PFS suffers have tried it already too so I'm sure one person was a slow oxidizer. I think many ppl tried baclofen as well
