PFS & Stomach Acid / Gut Issues

Thanks for this. Pepcid (H2 blocker) is what I have been using successfully. I have an appointment with a gastro, potentially to get scoped. I guess it can take a long time, however I'm easily 6 months since eradication, and a single glass of red wine can make me sick.

Why did I feel so good on Finasteride?

I took fin for approximately 7 years, and felt great the majority of that time.... Before things got ugly in a matter of months. There must be something else going on.

Why did I feel so good on Finasteride?

Thanks for the reply, agreed on the allo piece. The post is a bit old (when I still didn't know the difference between progesterone and pregnenolone), however yes, that is what I had meant. I've seen @gbolduev mention fin optimizing potassium, and was wondering if that would be the result. I...

Why did I feel so good on Finasteride?

The below is a repost I made to the Ray Peat forum, which never really got a response. I'm hoping it will here. I've since learned a bit more, and it seems as if dosing with a progestin may have been the reason, before things started to go bad. However the era when Fin was making me feel good...

PFS & Stomach Acid / Gut Issues

Its not really acid reflux as much as stomach pain / burning.

PFS & Stomach Acid / Gut Issues

It must be high, as I've been taking acid reducers to make things better.

    Phosphatidylserine & Phosphatidylcholine

I used natural factors, which itself seemed to license a version called "Sharp-PS Green", which I saw from other companies as well. It was oil capsule though.

PFS & Stomach Acid / Gut Issues

I saw some discussion of low stomach acid in the zinc finger thread, and wanted to get some feedback from others. Through the course of my struggles with PFS and even dating into the time where I "successfully" used fin, I seem to have had issues with high acid, in that I would feel heartburn...

Reverse penile fibrosis and testicular shrinkage

No discoloration, however my earliest PFS symptom (while I was still taking the drug) was a constant pain in my left (dominant?) testicle. This pain was constant and did not stop until I got off the drug essentially a year later. I appreciate the temperature consideration, but something about...

Reverse penile fibrosis and testicular shrinkage

Joe, can you talk a bit more about testicle position and the scrotum? When I was in the depths of my crash, my balls hung like two oranges in a grocery bag constantly. When I had the early recovery, it was one of the most noticeable changes, in that I could feel the scrotum tightening up again...

Low FSH, High DHEA-S, Low Vitamin D

Thanks. Also, is high Estrogen, high Iron, and with normal cortisol what you would expect to see?

    Phosphatidylserine & Phosphatidylcholine

Try PS. After my good experience with it, I tried PC, and didn't see significant improvement.

    Phosphatidylserine & Phosphatidylcholine

I feel like some of the benefits may have blunted through time, however I never went back to the horrible condition I was in prior to it. My sleep has remained well above where I was then, as well as the feel in the scrotum / improvement in sexual activity. I was truly in horrible condition...

Low FSH, High DHEA-S, Low Vitamin D

Does it impact which of the two types of PFS one is experiencing?

Low FSH, High DHEA-S, Low Vitamin D

My most consistent blood marker abnormalities throughout my struggle with PFS have been Low FSH, High DHEA-S, Low Vitamin D. I have been unable to connect this set of issues to Ray Peat's work, or anything I've found online in studies etc. Has anyone experienced similar?

    Phosphatidylserine & Phosphatidylcholine

PS supplementation was the largest and only clear cut victory for me in my battle with PFS. Approximately 4-5 years ago, I had bloods done, saw high cortisol, and in a really uneducated way, sought out supplements known to lower it. Luckily I bought a bottle of PS and hoped to see my daytime...
