    Barbaar Hair Analysis (PSSD)

I always thought this route for most suitable for people with high serotonin and surpressed dopamine levels. You think both are low?

I like this idea, 2 things come to mind though. - People tend to feel better with things that are lowering MAO-A, like Rhodiola, Curcumin, Ayahuasca etc. But i guess thats what you are saying, you will bouce back coming off, not on. - I only know one case with PSSD, that got cured by feeling...

Same applies to sjw, they say its mainly serotonin, but experiences are quite the opposite for many. As soon as something is less selective research becomes tricky, as they are focussing on smaller effects instead of the whole picture

Yeah i know thats the conclusion in some research, but as with most maoi’s there isnt great consensus. But it is also a med that has one of the fewest occurances of sexual side effects, making me lean towards a lower or selective serotonin effect, countered by dopamine.

I had one of my few windows ON moclobemide (reversible maoi). I also clearly remembered i felt a bit om edge just before it happened, with a feeling coming from my throat. I figured it was putting pressure on my tyroid at the time. All my windows were on stuff that works partly on dopamine and...

    Barbaar Hair Analysis (PSSD)

Well that could explain why it works with some people while not in others. Ive been looking into the combo of a serotonin antagonist in combination with a dopamine agonist already, so this could make sense

Well it is just based on posts, but these people clearly report being back pre-ssri. Yes this can also mean they get their anxiety back as it was pre-ssri. Not all these people have this however and it wasnt a real issue for me. I rather use tei to balance health/energy/anxiety when i get my...

    Barbaar Hair Analysis (PSSD)

And oh, i love your posts about interactions and possible routes. This has more potential then TEI i believe, something to think about. Barbaar is testing sodium now, which gives us more insights than 3 months of TEI probably would

    Barbaar Hair Analysis (PSSD)

Im pretty sure many people are following TEI here, perhaps goose is doing it most consistingly or the longest, idk. But also for goose it does not seem to fix libido, or at least so far. I was healthy pre ssri, or at least felt i was. Ill be the first to be convinced about hair tests when it...

That was perhaps not the best example, alot of variations have been posted: PSSD Collaborative Research • View topic - Salt It did seem to help, just not a cure, at least in this case

But you are saying many symptoms are then caused by low serotonine?

I had a simular experience trying levonorgestrel, felt immediate adrenaline, and shrinkage! Took days to recover from that but i had amazing energy, not always in a good way though.

Will be interesting to see the effect, would also be very different method compared to other cures so-far obviously.

This is also how lowering progesterone helps people, by increasing potassium as a result, affecting sodium uptake?

    Barbaar Hair Analysis (PSSD)

Yes, i was asking about the metabolism part, that is the mechanism then. I didnt get the part how loading sodium could potentially break this mechanism too.

    Barbaar Hair Analysis (PSSD)

Isnt the problem that the body is losing Sodium then, rather than the availability of it? How would increasing sodium levels bind it instead of just losing more? Also, that would imply that in PSSD, serotonine levels are too low, while people going back on SSRI make things worse in general (on...
