Animal-based diet

Reverse of the plant-based diet....
Very few people thought about it because it is counter intuitive, but in some cases it gives such wonderful results! List for the ones who can benefit, from testimonies:
- auto-immune, especially in guts.
- digestive issues resisting all diets (because no plant al all is the only diet that you have not thouoght about!).
- depression, when there is a link to gut issues, irritation.
- acne

I joined this forum just after fasting, when I noticed that raw was doing me good, and they have a part for only meat eaters.
Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach

All info easy to find, as there is not much!

Basically, you start with several small meals a day. Fast when you are not wanting the meat, and resume. You will generally end up with two meals IF type of schedule. It takes a while for our hormones to reset and body to not ask for carbs. Salt raises stomach acid (chloride, you know it) so use it when you feel it is necessary. Supplement with any mineral you think necessary at the beginning.

Eat only meat in you have a problem with copper, and eat offals if you are attracted and need copper.

People have no problem with vitamine c and do not get scurvy. Try to find good meat, grass raised better, but any comercial meat will do too. Prefer ruminants like cow and sheep. Of course you can use fish and sea-shell! Follow your taste. Eggs are fine is you tolerate them. I would never rely on them without a break, like it is natural in winter, because they can create allergy.

My experience tells me that any type of "extreme" diet to either side of the scale: low carb/low fat/all meat/all fruit is begging for trouble. I think it is easy to create imbalances this way when you restrict major food groups. Especially an all-meat diet I would be cautious with due to heavy load of nitrogen waste products and hormones and polyamines. Not to mention very little fiber.

Lately I have been enjoying Travis' posts over at RPF. He writes really well and manages to stay clear of the dogma-type mindset they have going on a lot of the time. He simply presents studies and his analysis of their results. Check out some of his posts if you want an interesting read. He has an opinnion on many unrelated topics.

His posts have prompted me to lower my protein intake slightly and reintroduce dates and coconut which feels nice. I believe less aminal products has helped me after my gallbladder attack.

Fasting is extreme for some people... And by using any drug or even minerals, it can be extreme too.

Travis has the vegan view....
No view is for everybody, nor forever.
Dates and coconut fiber are bad for me! I like the taste though! I am always careful if I like the writing or the informations! Ray Peats also writes well, and makes you afraid of many things as if it was true for everybody, and it is not. But well written.

The idea for people with gut issues is to go same as a fast, 1 month, and see what happens. It is easy to do it longer than a fast though! Then you can reintroduce and check out which food is fine or not.
When I went gluten free, it was also a trial!
Never came back. :)

For some people, going plant-free is what will work.
This guy in the video just re-lives! All his blood tests have improved and he is nearly 1 year into the diet. I spoke with him, and he is very careful and tests all, and I suggested him the hair test too. Doctors want to try steroids with him, but he never took drugs and wanted to solve diet way.

I agree completely that persuasive writing can be convincing/addictive in a way. One should always try out for oneself and never trust blindly. One person does not have the truth for everyone :) but maybe parts of it..

The guy in the video does seem really composed and in a good, mellow mood. Seems like it is working for him. He lives in a really good spot with meat from cattle he has raised and fed himself which I think makes a massive difference. Living in a city with store bought meat might make it less beneficial to go all meat.. Perhaps make sure to source it well.

Thanks for openness! I mention this diet because it is the last one we might think about! That is why I keep talking and insisting about context! Same for protocols, same for diet, how do you know which one is good for you: similarities with others, and differences. That is why we need the feed-back. This guy would bleed faint from pain, he probalby has crohn or UC.

This guy also ran out of own meat.... Good place, but he worked for cougars... they helped themselves in sheep.... I have only rats doing this! He said he went on with supermarket beef and it was still ok. Actually I know that before doing this diet, he was also home baking with sour dough, and was growing nice veggies for himself. Now he has 60lb of fish fom a friend to go on with.

That is why I mentionned the conditions that can be helped that I know about in the op.

He has full hair but...
they wanted to put him on steroids, and he cured depression and acne! Sounds familiar for some?

My experience with near-zero carb is very negative, including irritability by day and insomnia by night. OTOH, a carb overload makes me dopey and tired. I found my carb "sweet spot" by trial and error. I could tell you the daily range of carbohydrate grams that I maintain, but that would be useless to you because you would have to find your own range. I will mention that I eat virtually no carbs until dinner, keeping me alert and energetic all day long and allowing me a great night's sleep. I found a good carb load limit for me with blood-sugar test strips, useful in my case because I had type 2 diabetes.

Good advice about how to choose, and that trying will give the answers, and that we do not have the definitive answer about who can beneficiate from zero carbs high protein...

Until now I have seen that it is fine for people with difficult digestion problems.

I can see how starches and fibers inflame me, the least red they have ever been was when I did starch and fiber free, I then ate just meats and eggs,
this was before I knew about the carnivore diet, but the redness was almost gone when I did that, and then I ate kebab and the next morning the redness was back
and I could not figure out why, it was only meat I had eaten! but I've now realized that those proccesed meats usually contains other stuff to like gluten wich might be the reason my gut reacted.

I'm going to do the carnivour diet again and try to skip acidic foods/drinks, and make sure everything acid I take i do in capsule form, I've tried to open up HCL capsules and pour it in water but this causes bloating like hell but to swallow the capsules doesnt, guess its easier on the gut lining.

There's a new website called Meat Heals where people have posted their experiances with meat only diets, so many people have healed their autoimmune conditions, check it out if you havent already. sorry for the ramble

Thanks for the link.
I think it is worth a try, at least same as a momentaneous period of fasting!

I am fully doing the 1 month trial since beginning of march, instead of fasting.... I first went lower carb, then kept only raw greens, then only animal food. My cheese is only raw and old, to not have lactose. I still have plant... coconut oil and cacao butter. haha

I use salt to taste.
I use fat to taste.
I eat as much as I can, and often cannot eat 3 times.
I am very little hungry.
I go to the toilets only every other day, but no problem.
I keep electolytes.

low fiber = you can't efficiently eliminate toxins and hormones(estrogen) also low carb = high cortisol, low T3. Ketosis is survival mechanism. Veganism is the same nonsense.. Everybody is individual. So if you want to be healthy you need to pay atention to your body and eat what your body needs and not what fits some ideology..

A lot in 2 sentences....
First read this The Bear
low fiber = you can't efficiently eliminate toxins and hormones(estrogen) also low carb = high cortisol, low T3. Ketosis is survival mechanism. Veganism is the same nonsense.. Everybody is individual. So if you want to be healthy you need to pay atention to your body and eat what your body needs and not what fits some ideology..
You eliminate with bile, so eat fats and not only lean meat.
You can drink some coffee especially if constipated by cheese.
You can still eat some greens as medicinals.

"low carb = high cortisol" is not true and can be checked out, I did not keep the source.

Any food is "survival mecanism"! People must have been a lot in ketosis, and turn to a carb "survival mecanism" when binging on fruits in autumn! I have never seen any forest rich in fruits if not selectively planted my humans. We are not only individuals, earth places are also individual.

Why would you call a specific way of eating an "ideology"? We eat to heal, and if having gut issues comes from carbs.... Now I have ZERO bloating, steady energy not always but I have a tooth infection from 2 years carbs and over 10 decays. Before Peat diet Iwas not having any more decays. Only in early adulthood I got decays when I was having cheap food and had unfortunately discovered fructose products.... said to be good!

I have checked out that I can burn fat better than sugars, so do not stop curious people who would like to experiement and maybe benefit from the only diet they never tried!

If you have SIBO or CANDIDA, try it! What do you risk in 1 month trial?

You risk constipation except if you were super bad with crazy transit from gut irritation. So beware a lot of cheese, and mix some sat fats and eggs into your meat.

Also you need to little cook, as to not destroy vitamins nor protein. I surface cook for hygiene reasons.

Make story short. Show me healthy population of people living in ketosis. I mean people 80-90 yo. Healthy fully mobile. We can see this in plant based dieters in Asia especially but not vise versa..

They have already disappeared from the surface or earth because of overpopulation due to vegetarian eating, and access to modern food. In California they were only 1 person per square mile, and it was considered as dense population...

ONE example is the aborigenes who lived where I live now, but they were extinguished. They lived on goats and very little plants and only figs as fruits. They were so tough that they gave a hard time to Europeans.

Wild animals and even wild fish disappear to the point we have to farm them! It would be impossible for all humans, without reducing our population, to turn to a animal based diet. I am glad people prefer to eat plants and leave me the rest!

Of course we can adapt to plant, if we learn to prepare them well, and then if the diet is traditional, our body has had the oportunity to be adapted to it. Change of diet is more of a problem when you are ok with the old diet. BUT when we are not ok, a diet change, even momentary, can make the difference...

So... I MAKE the story short, I try it! SIBO seems to go away and energy is more steady, though I feel in transition still. I will add back some plants if my body feels like it. Then you can also read the link...

It is interesting. I have eaten only meat for 1 week. Short amount of time. Not long enough to get adapted to the diet. I felt more energy for sure. No more energy crashes. Just like keto diet. Which I also liked for a while.

In the carni-groups, they say to be in keto and eat fat, not only meat, but some do eat almost no fat.... I think it depends on the transit. I get constipated if I lack fat and water. I think gelatine might help!
I am at 2 weeks.
Gosh, no hunger at all or almost! Peace in the valley too!
