Interesting reaction to amino acids

Last september I was doing really good so I wanted to gradually start the electrolyte protocol so I added whey (unflavored, Diesel brand, pretty clean).

This gave me a weird reaction of both positive and negative. Positive is it raised my libido and genital sensitivity, however it made my sound sensitivity really bad (glycine or glutamine via NMDA?) and then caused a small crashso I had to stop. My stools also smelled awful so I thought maybe I was feeding some sulfur reducing bacteria.

Should I try again with a blend that doesnt contain glycine or glutamine? Or take it with other stuff like B's?

This reaction is interesting because I had the same thing with my ox bile crash in 2022: I had a big rise in libido, followed by a crash.

my take with you is to stop worrying about PFS or this magic switch that’s gonna turn on for you and reverse things. Whey proteins good for sure. I would do plasma aminos with your doc if you’re worrying about things like glutamate glycine glutamine.

You’re a case that you kind of want to be honest. It’s on paper. Clear cut. Honest. Psycho cadmium high A. Just work on what’s there on paper for you.

In 2017 when I got mycoplasma diagnosed an older PFS dude well… he was my age now. Was just like “relax, you got it. You have your diagnosis. Go and treat it. That will make you go forward tons.”

And it did. I almost beat the entire illness within 8 months including PFS lol. It was truly incredible.

You got things on paper now. Treat the paperwork. You will go far forward if you do!

Thanks for the reply.

I'll be honest I'm not doing too good because I worry that the fatigue I've been experiencing since week #5 post Covid is PEM and that I am transitioning to CFS. I was relatively fine for the first 5 weeks but working 75h during this week + trying to go back to the gym was too much and caused it.

I don't have any pains or flu-like PEM symptoms but I did have more fatigue for 2-3 days after trying to exercise, along higher heart rate, some brainfog and some chills. Tried to jog a week later and I had the same thing for a day, havent exercised since.

I've been having dark thoughts because this feels like a brand new illness, and one that I don't read as many recovering from.

I'm looking forward to treating the high cadmium but I had it last year too without these symptoms so it doesn't look like the cause. My problems really started with Covid, I was doing great before.

Problem is when you have high vitamin A and cadmium. You might be fine for awhile but it will catch up to you eventually. They slowly cause you to develop neurological issues. That may have not shown early but it was coming if they stayed high.

A toxicity leads to body producing too much peroxynitrate. Which happens in more of aging type diseases. When you produce too much peroxynitrate, cysteine dies, you can’t access cadmium without cysteine so that stays high.

There’s definitely an approach to all this. And it’s a lot more simple than it seems.

@Outlaw for the protein try to find a hydrolyzed whey protein (highest percentage as possible...i.e. peptidepro or the expensive german hydrolyzed whey which is like 80% hydrolyzed). If you wanted to use just aminos you can try doc's aminos which replaced the "platinum amino acids" from the electrolyte protocol thread.

Hydrolyzed means its predigested with enzymes which breaks down the aminos even further which means easier to digest with increased uptake. Lower quality whey could cause issues due to the byproducts like gut irritation, inflammation, lower uptake

Thanks for the answers lads.

@bruschi11 : Yeah no doubt I have to fix that. I'm just saying that my recent fatigue issues and worsening were brought by Covid so I think there's something more than high Cadmium.

@TubZy : I was using Diesel unflavored whey so pretty clean, but not hydrolyzed. I had a similar reaction to NAC a few years ago so I wonder if it has something to do with cysteine. Maybe it's helping synthetize gluthatione and making me mobilize stuff? I will try doc's aminos.

Covid seems to cause vitamin A metabolism issues to get worse flat out…. Exactly where your issues lay.

Whey protein is very high in glutamic acid so that can cause high glutamate (excitotoxicty) symptoms in some and yes it probably feeds some bacteria or fungi too. When I tried candex (candida digesting enzymes) with whey protein, the effects from the whey were way stronger/better than without them.

Yeah excitoxicity has always been an issue for me.

Interesting for the Candex. I was on 4 pills of it per day when I took whey so it looks like the issue is something else, might be feeding bacteria.

The fact that it helped me before crashing is interesting tho

Could be possibly. For the whey proteins personally, I never really got that big of benefit from them when my digestion was messed up. I talked about it in my thread but I did better with pure raw egg whites (fresh cracked not pastured from carton).

Yeah egg whites might be the way to go if I still don't tolerate hydrolyzed or Doc Aminos.

Come to think about it, I also had a small classic PFS crash from selenium in the past.. once again gluthatione synthesis.

vitamin b2 is activating vit b6, vitamin b2 produce vit b3 (nad,) vitamin b2 retain zinc, vitamin b2 create cysteine, vitamin b2 create histamine, chelate iron and copper. so actually it helps also digesting things. you may want to try vit b2 + a bit of magnesium

Interesting, yeah I was planning on starting some B's. I did bloodtests last week and my B1 and B2 are pretty low, almost on the lower threshold.

yeah try it, and i want to add that you should start vit b2 from lower dosages, beacuse it can give you histamine side effects if you start with higher dosages

Where do you get from? On the contrary I read online that it helps histamine metabolism and raises DAO

Protein detoxes and binds to metals as well i think. that being said I feel better low protein. But to cure yourself i think most people need good amount of protein. Once you're healthy you can lower it. probably less appetite for it as well automatically i assume.
