Do you feel your oxidation rate could be reversed? Like have you tried in the past just by taking zinc or copper before and see how you felt?

I used to take zinc before I found this site and I always thought it helped me. My original protocol of zinc vitamin d and creatine kinda worked abit.

Hmmmm @Boris @Helen nkw that I think about it.... first hair test I did, I was slow oxidizer and that was head hair..... next test I had been drinking H water and assumed that was the reason for my flip flop of oxidation rates, from slow to fast in one cycle. However, I used body hair for second test. Could that have impacted it? I thought we had people on here that did both head hair and body hair and compared both, and it was still similar? I am without a doubt a fast oxidizer, so that first hair test I always thought was bullshit.

They advice against side of the head? I have been cutting off hair from side off my head since test 1. I do not use shampoo but I also do not use hair products. I just wash it thoroughly with hot water before cutting it off.

Dr. Wilson says this:

1. Cut the sample from anywhere on the head. The nape of the neck is excellent, but other areas are fine, as well. If head hair is not available, the next best hair is from the underarms. On men, beard hair or chest hair will work, as well.
If these are not available, some labs will test the minerals in fingernails, and this is fairly accurate. Do not use pubic hair. It is not as accurate, even though some laboratories allow it.

We all know Dr. Wilson is a little bit coocoo but he does have experience with hair testing. He says it is fine if the hair is anywhere on the head. Head from underarms, chest hair and beard hair is OK.

If I feel better after this cycle I think I will just keep doing what I did. I had a good improvement after the first cycle.

Otherwise I might drop the whole hair testing if there is no clear picture. Because at that point you are just doing random shit which I can do myself as well. I am real good at that.

This is the problem with amateur naturopath/alternative health. You deal with incapable people. Instead of writing a strict guideline they say: "yeah well this OK, and this is OK" but then you find out it is not and you just wasted your money on bullshit.

I hope we can clear this up. I think the only way to clear this up is by looking at progression. @Goose12 has made good progress and used head hair for example. Same for me although I am not as far as Goose so it is harder to say. After this cycle I think I can say with certainty.

This is what TEI says:

"Each collected sample should be taken in small portions from at least four to five different locations of the scalp. The recommended areas for collection are the nape of the neck, posterior vertex and posterior temporal regions."

"Scalp hair is the only source recommended for analysis. Pubic and other body hair should only be used as a last resort if scalp hair is not available.

Note: Pubic and other body hair is only recommended for confirmation of elevated toxic metals found in the scalp hair and/or to rule out external contamination of the scalp hair."

My question is if you continue to do TEI/ARL and now with head hair only, will the program eventually show your true oxidation rate?

What if someone has a tattoo?
Tatoo ink is a metal salt most of the time. And lets say someone has a green tattoo which most likely will be some type of chromium or copper salt, could that element show up high on a hair test, throwing the results off?

I just called TEI directly and told them to discard it. Luckily, they didn't test it yet
As a side note.... TEI is such a racket. Lol. We have to go through a “practitioner” in order for them to send us results. But you mail the sample directly to TEI. And the “practitioner” does nothing except forward you on the results. I wonder why they don’t interface directly with the customer. It’s the print out recommendations that matter anyway.

Yes, I actually agree what you are saying I have expressed this to Helen before lol. My personal opinion is that they should give you the option to either have a pract. or not instead of forcing you to have one since many of us don't really need one here just the report. I like Catherine but TBH I really haven't asked her anything or has she told me anything that the repeot didn't say.

I think for the majority of the people it is nice to have a practitioner for asking questions and better guiding. We however, are in the minority and don't actually need a practitioner because there is way more information on this forum then most practitioners know about. We have @Helen anyway, the uber-god.

I think it's because of how health care is arranged. Health care in the Netherlands is great, but while you can get recreational drugs in a heart beat, you need a recipe for pretty much everything else. Getting a doctor to prescribe you hormones, even if your blood tests reveal near hypogonadism, is much, much harder than it is in the States for example, where you can get a T-shot if you buy 3 gallons of milk in the supermarket. Over here they want you to have guidance with everything you do. Not that the doctors know much over here, but still.

I'm sure more countries are like this, but I can imagine some where you can be much more autonomous.
