small stressors are healthy, it keeps you sensitive. Same as what exercise does...both over doing either can be also be bad so need to keep it in check.....
It is potential that TEI is just trying to rest you though, thus making you tired... so the cold shower is limiting the effect of TEI

In saying that, i understand man, we need energy we cant just take a break from life when we got bills to pa and $$ to earn

I've been doing 20sec cold shower - 10 sec hot shower alternating myself, just 5 times max but less if i dont feel the need. I think it really cools me down after exercise, might help fight inflammation and lower thyroid or something.

Don’t see how this could be anywhere near the truth. Lot of stuff over on Jack Kruse site in regards to quantum health and cold exposure is likened to sun exposure in his circles.

One thing they’ve been talking about recently is deuterium depletion. Any thoughts on this @Helen ? A health writer I know with Jack’s ideals believes this stuff is horrible for you and extremely relevant in getting people right.

Also, would it be possible hydrogen water could have elevated this stuff in some of us?

Cold showers do cause a stress response, basically anything that makes you uncomfortable does

A hormetic stressor is good for you though, because you bounce back stronger (i.e. like a well programmed gym routine - except in the cold therapy its more of a cellular response) but some people are not healthy and need to massively limit cold exposure

I've been aware of Jacks info for like 10 years now... he's got some great points arbout morning sunlight and circadian rhythmn. but i dont think he knows it all, i think the cold can be bad depending on the individual (maybe better for a slow oxidiser i theorise) and the keto seafood diet... well, you know Helen and TEI don't recommend that.

BTW look at him, he's not looking too healthy these days. He was when his book came out, but i dont think his stuff is working long term

It depends on the body chemistry, I feel worse compared to when I tried cold showers off TEI a long time ago so not sure. Anyways, I'm not saying its masking what TEI does, more just like helps makes it more manageable. However, you can definitely over do it. It can just wake you up a bit similar to what exercise and sauna does for me, which I have been doing since the very beginning of NB, and continued to make gains so in my case it has not hindered my gains at all so far. Everything I read shows cold shower increase metabolism so I doubt it would lower thyroid versus saunas which slow metabolism down. Body gets cold and needs to stimulates heat production hence the increase in metabolism and vice versa for saunas. Also cold showers seem to do other stuff that stimulate glutathione as well and if you are detoxing metals from NB that could be helpful too...

I’m not saying it doesn’t cause a stress response.

I’m saying it does a lot more than just cause a stress response.

I’m sorry but a stressful work day would be good for us if a stress response was the positivity we’d be getting from cold therapy. We are getting a lot more than a stress response from this stuff. Or a different, more relevant type of stress response than your average stressor.

cold exposure is pretty incredible what it can do for system.

Some jack kruse recommendations have negative effects on me lol I'm not saying he's wrong but it just doesn't agree with my body.
Sun exposure gives fatigue and crazy histamine response.
Cold showers make me feel good for like three hours and then crazy histamine response for days. It also feels a sympathetic reaction. My PE gets so much worse.
Blue blockers gave me headaches at first but now I got used to them.
I've been trying grounding mats and they do help me fall asleep faster but that's the only benefit.

Sun exposure gives me fatigue too, I figure it's the vitamin d retaining calcium and causing a slower oxidation

Everyone gets fatigued by the sun. It’s herx, chelation, same as red light therapy it u sit under one too long.

It’s funny when I was sick again this past fall and winter the red lamp in my room would make me feel horrible after a couple minutes under it. Now i like the feeling. And can handle a lot of time with it.

Also very potent at releasing vitA for elimination, good for us PAS folks, but fatigue detox symptoms probably as well.

Nice! BTW have you ever measured Vit A levels and/or Beta Carotene in blood? Were they high for you?

Except for healthy people lol they actually want more sun and feel depressed without it. I'm exactly the opposite. Sounds like I just need to push though it and see it what happens.

I don't need a lot of sun and do not crave it.

I think it is the unhealthy people that crave the sun. Because they feel bad in their baseline. No surprise because most people are unhealthy. I always looked forward to the summer and always had depression in the winter.

I look at what people eat around me. They talk about food 24/7, about being hungry, EVERY SINGLE DAY. Every single day they talk about food all day long. Especially the women.

You know why? Because they eat nothing. They are hungry and their body is unhappy because they are (unknowingly) starving themselves.

I think this is also how addictions are born. People feel bad in their baseline being -> their brain still wants to feel good from food but the person does not feed the body good food -> They start using drugs to get the feel good effect.

It starts with a simple addiction like caffeine, nicotine, stimulants. Or maybe even sex addiction and porn.

The sun in a way is also a drug. It is a natural drug obviously and it is healthy. But it also gives you dopamine and makes you feel good. I think this is why a lot of people hate winters and love the summer. Because in the winter their imbalance will come to the forefront more then in the summer. In the summer it is masked by the feel good from the sun.

When I’m doing well I just love the winter. Not freezing but like 20 to 40 degrees and sunny outside is awesome. Healthy body keeps itself warm while taking in benefits of both cold exposure and the sun.

I agree with hungry people all day. It’s sad, it’s a disease. I craved food ever since beginning of cfs symptoms at 22 years old. It took me to my 95% cfs recovery last year (at 29) for 6 months to understand what it’s like to not have that constant hunger.

Man it was bad, you get to work and crave lunch all day. Sneak in snacks in morning. After lunch you start craving again an hour or two later.

I’d think half the people in this world, especially women , live like this. We live in a shitty world in terms of health. It’s so sad.

Never measured, but standard blood tests are said by some that it doesn't show true storage in fat tissues and liver. To show storage as a percentage of blood, retinyl esters needs to be measured, but that is not performed normally.

You don’t get it man. You’re just failing to accept fact that you’re sick.

We are all different though. We just don’t know who has what. But the hair analysis has been incredible for this community no doubt about that.

I just typed for about fifteen-twenty minutes there. And I’ll be honest I really hope you listen to me because in times past I feel like i wasn’t able to reach you. If there’s any type of way I can make this more clear for you please let me know.

Bruschi brother- I'm not even sure what this means. Of course I realize that I am sick.

Do I believe that pathogens or some other underlying issue landed me in PFS? No, I do not. However, for myself (and many others) PFS seems to have a downstream impact on the gut, whatever that mechanism might be. Once in this state, I do believe that you have to attack PFS from the gut angle, as we have seen in so many recoveries. I have tried many things in the past, and continue to, related to supplements, probiotics, diet, etc. in an attempt to help improve my situation.

I am truly sorry if you feel you have wasted your time replying to me in the past. I always appreciate input from others within the PFS community.

Your heart is beating out of your chest because your body can't regulate electrolytes in PFS anymore specifically potassium, sodium, magnesium etc. Just search for "potassium" on this forum and you can read about it and how it relates to progesterone as well and how finasteride influences electrolyte and mineral balance.

Or you can go on TEI and should help get your electrolytes balanced and you should feel much better

I appreciate the input @Boris.

All good man. I just feel like you’re frustrated with what we have to offer here. Based on the phrase you used in quotes.

I was in state of chemical depression from chelation/fatigue when I made that post yesterday. Sorry if I came off like a dick.

I don’t know if pathogens are root of your issues. But you clearly have issue with detox system, toxic load based on heart exploding out of your chest from exercise.

Heart exploding out of chest tells me adrenal/thyroid system is way off. And what causes thyroid and adrenal system being off is some sort of combination of nutrition/detox system being off + toxic load.

I’m currently in place similar to you I believe where I can’t handle much exercise. We haven’t talked for awhile but I got sick again the past 8 or so months (not nearly as bad as at first, but still pretty bad) and I’m finally back on the mend.

While I can credit removing the pathogen being huge for this. I also credit making the detox system work as integral.

You have to understand. We can get labeled with all sorts of issues. But health comes down to “the amount of bad being in your body” and “your body’s ability to get rid of the bad” along with the balance of elements that make it function correctly.

It’s very simple. While researchers are trying to piece puzzles of pfs and all, they just aren’t being logical.

It’s a real shame the stuff Helen, Dr. Eck, Dr. Watts, Dr. Wilson have taught the world isn’t mainstream. Coming from someone who has seen like 5-10 distinct different body chemistries over the last 26 months, it’s obvious the body needs to be looked at from deeper degree than just “pfs” or “Lyme/pathogens” or “unbalanced.”

Body is intricate puzzle, but this science has made it so so much easier to understand if you take it in seriously.

The fact that you have sexuality still tells me you aren’t far from being healthy. Just gotta figure out the root of your ailments. And I wouldn’t be obsessing over pfs being that. You gottta figure your own self out.

I'm not sure who is PFS vs PAS here, if that even matters, but this point has always baffled me. I'm PFS, and I absolutely love the sun. It probably helps my symptoms more than anything else that I have tried. I get more energy, mentally feel better all around, and even my body composition seems to improve. When I was more active on SolvePFS, others I had communicated with also felt better with sun.

Anyway, it is just so odd to me that for some, the sun seems to help tons. And then we have others where the sun zaps their energy and they feel like horseshit. But I guess in PFS it is like that for many things whether it is food, supplements, drugs, etc.- 1 person can have a negative response to something and the next a positive response. And then the next, no response....

Tells me your issue probably has more to do with imbalances than anything. If it were pathogens you’d prob feel worse.
