Just got back from my docs appointment. Finally got the test results I was still waiting on. Also I was wrong in both my guesses lol.
DHT: 1.96 nmol/l (range: 0.32 - 1.64)
Saliva cortisol:
- morning: 23 nmol/l (13-24)
- mid day: 9 nmol/l (5-10)
- afternoon: 4 nmol/l (3-8)
- evening: 3 nmol/l (1-4)
DHEA-S: 5 ug/l (3-10)
Cortisol belasting (no idea what this is in english): 39 (23-42)
So... High DHT. What? I would've never guessed that. I have weak body hair, beard could be better, no noticable hairloss, no agression/anger/confidence. So it's high but not working I guess. But then why is my testosterone low? I thought they would either both be low or both be high. My doc said it could be because of slight insulin resistance, high insulin causes high dht according to her.
She also said my urine amino analysis indicated a lack of magnesium and active b6, which in turn could be the reason for low serotonin and dopamine.
She gave me the following supplement advice:
- Active b complex
- Magnesium
- Iodine drops
- Mucana pruriens
- Lactobacillus probiotics
And a bunch of lifestyle advice like:
- Set a timer when working on the computer to get up every hour, do some stretches and exercises
- Fasted exercise to get insulin down
- Join a sport that requires lots of coordination like rock climbing or squash
- Take a walk in the morning without glasses on to get enough sunlight to regulate day/night rhythm
- Stop working earlier in the evening so I have time to relax before bed
