Just got back from my docs appointment. Finally got the test results I was still waiting on. Also I was wrong in both my guesses lol.

DHT: 1.96 nmol/l (range: 0.32 - 1.64)

Saliva cortisol:
- morning: 23 nmol/l (13-24)
- mid day: 9 nmol/l (5-10)
- afternoon: 4 nmol/l (3-8)
- evening: 3 nmol/l (1-4)
DHEA-S: 5 ug/l (3-10)

Cortisol belasting (no idea what this is in english): 39 (23-42)

So... High DHT. What? I would've never guessed that. I have weak body hair, beard could be better, no noticable hairloss, no agression/anger/confidence. So it's high but not working I guess. But then why is my testosterone low? I thought they would either both be low or both be high. My doc said it could be because of slight insulin resistance, high insulin causes high dht according to her.

She also said my urine amino analysis indicated a lack of magnesium and active b6, which in turn could be the reason for low serotonin and dopamine.

She gave me the following supplement advice:
- Active b complex
- Magnesium
- Iodine drops
- Mucana pruriens
- Lactobacillus probiotics

And a bunch of lifestyle advice like:
- Set a timer when working on the computer to get up every hour, do some stretches and exercises
- Fasted exercise to get insulin down
- Join a sport that requires lots of coordination like rock climbing or squash
- Take a walk in the morning without glasses on to get enough sunlight to regulate day/night rhythm
- Stop working earlier in the evening so I have time to relax before bed

No, doc said that was unreliable since it fluctuates so much throughout the day and only wanted to let me get saliva cortisol. I can get serum cortisol online easily though if that is better.

You are different than talkingant, since you do have very low magnesium on the hairtest.

I thought we took it with B vitamins.

magnesium is needed to convert B vitamins into active forms. B2 needs magnesium to be converted into active form, and b6 needs b2 to be converted into the active form

So without magnesium or b2 , there is no b6. And without b6 there are no conversions of serotonin and dopamine.

I don't recall doing that, but that might be me. I did take manganese magnesium iron and potassium for a while, first as ginger + turmeric, later as supps.

Do you think my doc is right about magnesium + active bs?

Yes magnesium and Bs should help.

Magnesium and b6 are needed to get to cysteine. And cysteine is needed for the zinc finger. Zinc finger is DNA reception of AR receptor. Thus DHT can be anything, but without zinc finger it does not work.

TEI would have given you the same stuff I would assume

Awesome, I'll follow the advice I got for a while then and see what happens

@barbaar I will look at your tests some more.

It is nice you got tested this way, the only thing I dont see is b2 test.

I see magnesium serum cell and urine, and dont see anything atypical in its excretion.

I wonder what your b2 levels re. you tested b1 which is ok, in your case, b12 ok, and b2?

Thanks man! I will get b2 tested as well. Using a different lab this time so it should be much quicker

Very interesting. Not sure how the lack of magnesium was identified (not low in any of the values?). Also surprising she recommends mucuna pruriens, is she a regular gp?

she just looked at homocysteine. its conversion to cysteine is done with magnesium and b6.

I think it is important to look at b2 in this case. Talkingant has it at not detectable. So I assume the body is using it like crazy.

Sent in cortisol and b2 blood tests and a TEI hairtest today. Should be ~2 weeks for the bloods to get back the results, not sure about TEI. But will post everything here once I get it. Meanwhile I'll follow the advice I posted here and work on the lifestyle things https://hackstasis.com/threads/barbaar-pssd-log.136/post-33962

Also made a nofap pact with @MNK99, he gets to burn my apartment down if I don't make it at least a month and vice versa :D

LOL, if you break your nofap at the same time, do I get to burn both of your apartments down?
