I crashed 2 years ago with debilitating mental and visual sides. I felt like I was becoming psychotic or dying. I felt massive head pressure, and I could not move my arms easily. I lost my vision for 5 seconds. It took about 3 months for things to stabilize so that I could be functional again and leave the house, but I was left with multiple side effects that continue to this day. I thought my problems were caused by flouroqinolone poisoning because I was taking Levaquin for an infection when I crashed, but many of my side effects align more with PFS. At the time I was taking Levaquin, I had already been suffering from panic attacks post-finasteride for a few weeks.
Remaining side effects:
- Very low libido
- Low total T in 200s (tested multiple times)
- Puffy nipples
- Brain fog/depersonalization
- dry skin, eyes and hair (what's left of it)
- mild eye floaters and visual disturbances (pops/zaps in vision)
- deep wrinkles/dark circles under eyes
- Weakness
-Inability to focus, losing words in conversation
-Awful body comp + gained 40lbs in the last 9 months or so
The mental side effects have been the worst for me. Libido comes back fairly easily with Idealabs androsterone, but the deprsonalization and anxiety make my life a living hell. It is as if I'm living in a permanent hangover and I can't wake up. Nothing makes sense anymore.
I am in sales, but I haven't been able to work because of my inability to focus or function in a work environment. I can handle no external stress whatsoever.
A year and a half ago, I used Idealabs tyromix on the scrotum. I used one drop, and it felt like I had come alive again. Every single mental and physical side effect was gone. I could think clearly, had a healthy sexual desire, and perfect brain-penis connection. Unfortunately, I lost my sensitivity to thyroid hormone altogether, and now I can't respond properly to any thyroid products, even cynoplus and cynomel. I truly believe that thyroid could help me tremendously if I could get it to work again.
I also used Idealabs vitamin K on the scrotum several months ago with effects that were similar to the tyromix on the scrotum. My brain fog completely cleared, and my sanity was restored.
11-keto-dht and pregnenolone did this for me as well, but it only lasted for about 5 minutes.
I had a similar experience using adamantane + 11-keto-dht + androsterone, but this also only lasted for a couple minutes.
Pregnenolone and progesterone topically felt euphoric for a day, and my depersonalization resolved, but only for 2 days.
I used testosterone for 2 months from January to March of this year, and the brain fog only cleared for a few minutes during that time as well.
For me, the brain fog/depersonalization is either on or off. There is no middle ground, and I have made no improvements in my baseline since about 3 or 4 months post-crash, so there is dwindling hope for recovery.
My situation seems to be unique because I have confirmed low androgens, and most people here have normal serum measurements. To make matters worse, many of my symptoms are actually symptoms of low T. Raising endogenous testosterone does not seem to be easy for me, so TRT may be unavoidable, but I know that it likely won't help with some of my symptoms.
My doctor gave me a 200mg testosterone injection a couple weeks ago. I honestly don't know what I'm doing anymore. I am just hoping that I can get some relief so that I don't lose my sanity. I am 25 years old, losing out on the best years of my life one day at a time.
I do not have much of interest in most of the things that are being discussed on this forum, but recoveries are always encouraging. I'm interested in RU486 and Ella because people's experience with it seems to resemble my experience with Tyromix on the testes, but it seems to be more long lasting.
Also, can anyone tell me why Idealabs androsterone seems to have wildly different effects compared to Super R-andro? I have not tried the latter, but I'm considering using it either before or after RU486.

ARL/TEI have improved brain fog, check the logs
It seemed like RU486/Ella was really giving people some good benefits in that area too, more than ARL. My feeling is that I was hit harder than most with the mental sides, which is why I'm skeptical.

Yeah they can work too although, I don't know in your case since you are not PFS, PSSD, PA etc so we don't know if progesterone/cortisol is even involved in your case hence ARL/TEI test to at least see what is going on....otherwise you are just completely guessing...

Regarding your low T, your situation is definitely not unique. My testosterone and LH were very low after my crash and I too was put on TRT. I weened off TRT, a few months later and my T was in range naturally. I have read many others mention low T right after the crash. I wouldn't commit to TRT at this point, your bloods and related symptoms will improve, it all takes time though

I have PFS.
After experimenting, I'm no longer confident that my problems were caused by Levaquin. If tyromix on the scrotum could resolve every single one of my symptoms, then it seems pretty clear that all of this is a result of severe hormonal derangement, which obviously points to PFS. Like I said in the OP, I was initially confused because the timelines overlapped so I wasn't sure what caused the crash. At first I thought I had severely damaged my CNS, but I don't think that's the case. My symptoms match other PFS sufferers, and I honestly think that I was in denial for a long time.

Well, I was able to get my T up to 416ng/dl last summer, and I felt a little better, but it dropped back down to the 200s after I stopped taking so many supplements. I'm also 2 years post-crash, so I would be very surprised if it suddenly got higher.

Stopped taking supplements or TRT? I've seen plenty of pfs sufferers double, triple their T levels naturally

That was when I stopped taking supplements.
I don't doubt that it's possible, I'm just saying that it doesn't look like it's going to be easy since it's been so long. I'm starting to think RU486 or Ella might help though. I'm considering experimenting with tyrosine too.

Got it, many options you can try. My sig has some things you can take a look at it, also check the logs for things that are working now for people. I would say off the top of my head:

ARL/TEI (for baseline if you want/optional to see if you are fast or slow)
RU/Ella
RU+ prog
CDnuts protocol
Hydrogen water
Low dose naltrexone
Water fast/bruess fast
R andro

Hello Dhair, I wanted to describe something I tried in December that may be something you want to consider...

T4 can convert to both Reverse T3 and T3.

Reverse T3 is the anti-thyroid and is high in people with inflammation or viral infection. For every day in December, I took two dosages of T3 only... this flushed my T4 out and, consequently , all RT3. I can't debate the half life of RT3 because I believe it's longer than a few hours, so I did the full flush for 30 days. This eventually shut down the my own thyroid production which is what I wanted... since RT3 can only be made from T4 and I was not taking any T4, I was only using T3.

After Dec I began iodine treatment and I believe it helped bring back my energy levels as well as body temp and genital temperature. Obviously research this concept but I had no negative after effects from this treatment. It would make some sense that tyro mix helped you... another thing that helped my brain fog was 1000mg of L-Tyrosine a day... still taking that...

Keep us posted

Thanks.

I'm tired of living. Really been dragging my ass lately. I feel that my sense of self is starting to fade out again.
I may try R-andro, but I've been holding off on buying it because I really don't think anything is going to work at this point.

R-Andro came today. I'm not sure if I want to try it. Brain fog/depression has been bad lately, and I don't want to risk making that worse.

@Dhair

for what it's worth, I started r-andro 8 days ago, no depression or brain fog at all so far; I did not feel much until two days ago with slight increase in libido throughout the day, still to this day

Thanks.
I am wondering if anyone has improved their neurological symptoms/brain fog permanently. It seems that most of the improvements are from people with only sexual sides...

I had mental sides to the worst degree. Mostly cured now.

Rife machine, healing gut, fasting, balancing minerals all key for me.

This comment surprised me but perhaps it is because I am one of those people where sexual sides have progressively worsened over the years. For me, brain fog was the quickest side effect to get cured. The shrinkage, muscle wasting and sexual sides on the other hand have only worsened and continue to do so even though I’ve been battling this for many years. It would be great if we could figure out what specifically causes mental vs sexual vs deformity sides. To Dhair’s point, it does seem like many PFS sufferers can only cure one type of side. I’m assuming it has something to do with one’s genetics and current health.

I have physical and sexual problems as well, namely gynecomastia, weakness, fatigue, libido, and nerve problems, but my lack of drive, severe brain fog, depression and blurry vision are the symptoms that prevent me from being able to work and live a normal life. Walker's symptoms were basically identical to mine, and he has recovered. I am fortunate that I have never experienced shrinkage, and I have found things that work very well for me for me in the sexual department. But I should have mentioned that for the first few months after my crash, it felt like my penis was not attached to my body. I experience numbness sometimes when I'm not taking prohormones or vitamin D, but it's nothing like it was in the beginning, and I know that it's definitely not permanent.
