I drank tomato juice a lot for a week and I noticed great improvement in mood and confidence in that week. Doesn't tomato juice lower 5AR activity?

I am taking l-cysteine, copper, magnesium and potassium and had a good day today. Zero anxiety. Confidence OK. Libido OK and had half chubs by just being around girls. The zinc finger protocol has made most change in my mood and anxiety.

If curing PFS was just a case of lowering 5AR activity then we could cure ourselves with the Keto diet which contains several fats that affectively lower 5AR. Has anyone cured themselves with the Keto diet?

Chi was big advocate of keto. But its not the cure for PFS. For some it can be very beneficial... depends on your oxidation subtype really I believe.

And PFS isn't a case of just lowering 5ar.

Keto is beneficial for fast oxidizers.

@gbolduev you are right ! I asked a scientist who teaches organic chemystry at the university near me.

Here is his answer :

This chemical has 2 amides groups wich are totally stranger to classical hormonal derivatives.
This chemical can easily modify blood composition, and the danger of this molecule comes from amides oxydation in vivo, in N-oxyamide, that will lead to consommation of reductors like NADPH and cysteine !

No organic chemist needed, the reducing power for glutathione is low and can be seen in sky high GGT levels like 10 times the upper acceptable range.

I don't know

This is amazing! We are finally understanding the mechanism of these substances! I suggest everybody to read this. On a sidenote, the authors talk about altering fin in such a way that it doesnt cause side effects when new people take it. I hope they devise a way to heal people already suffering from the syndrome.

Also I hope somebody starts looking into isotretinoin. I dont see any research being conducted into that. :(

So, what can we do? Any ideas?

You mean, someone should go back on fin while taking ru? For how long?

nah im not saying that haha it just came to me and i wanted to see if anyone wondered the same thing or if gbold maybe could test in his lab.

im not sure this would help soeone with PFS but maybe someone with PAS.

where does one get hair tests done? would we test nadp/nadph through blood or hair test? i would be down to get this done.

Maybe getting a list of everyone who is willing to get the hair test done is a good idea. If you "sign up" for the hair
test the next step may be to go to a thread set up on this website for the purpose of listing your symptom/PFS onset data.

Than once your hair test data is back go to a subsection of that same thread and post your hair test results.

I think the user "matty" suggested this before. Of course everyone participating would need to stay clear of taking anything for X amount of days before having their hair test done.

@IHateFin, your test should come back super fast, seeing as though ARL is in Arizona. Took me like a month (easter break) to get results from homeopath (who sent out to ARL).
