Phytic acid is pretty good actually.
Binds iron in the gut and some in the blood.
Also the body makes inositol from it which neutralizes copper toxic effects and makes bile more liquid.
Even if it binds some zinc who cares. One 30mg tablet is gonna be enough to offset 2 weeks of high phytate diet.
But what about arsenic.. I mean if someone is eating it twice a week it is probably not big deal, but 2-3 times a day heh..
Oats are great as well, but I think because I have leaky gut and issues with gluten. Maybe I am even celiac. Never tested.. I don't react to oats as well even gluten free oats..
Oats are too similar to wheat probably best to avoid for me..
Quinoa is interesting it has a lot of betaine which I am missing probably. But it is also somewhat high oxalate..

How long have you been taking 5mg per day?
Maybe you increased acetylcholine too much if you've been taking it for months and that's why you feel numb.
A bit on and off for 1/2 months now, sometimes 2.5mg, mostly 5mg. I did experience with 10mg manganese and 30mg zinc in the past due to Helens theory of it combating hair loss, but always seemed to lower my libido.

In my teens and early 20s zinc always boosted my libido, but since pfs it doesn't give me any benefits it seems.

I also tried histidine, like 10-15 grams daily but also no benefits really. I always assumed I was copper toxic even though it was low on HTMA's (also 4 lows sometimes). Always youth/feminine look, acne, skin issues, low androgen look, no heard growth or any body hair at all, hair loss, lots of light brown moles, anxiety, cold hand and feet (adrenaline activation? low dopamine)etc etc.

Not sure if I have any iron toxicity in my organs. Don't have high iron symptoms.

@Ingeno manganese is interesting metal. I wonder why would be people deficient in it if they consume whole food diet. Even white rice should have plenty of manganese let alone whole grains or oats, nuts, seeds etc. they are loaded with manganese..

Anyway I am thinking trying higher dose selenium. Maybe that is the reason I can't handle iodine at all. Like people take 3-5-10-15mg of iodine and they feel nothing. I feel after taking 5mg daily like I am dying from oxidative stress and maybe it is because my selenium is low. Like it is low on hair test.
On first hair test it was 0,080 and second and third hair test it went up to 0,103 while taking 100-200mcg a day, but ideal is around 0.180..

I remember Helen/Gbolduev said he was taking 3000mcg or something like that while dealing with cancers. I think I have similar situation.
But don't know how I figure out how much I should increase the dose..
I think I will try 400mcg for some time and will see. after couple of weeks if I can handle more iodine..

I think it's an important mineral but not without risks, I can get insane insomnia from regular selenium supplement when taking solo, dosages between 100-200mcg.

Start with 25mcg iodine and go no higher than 200mcg for a guy.

It’s selenium utilization not selenium deficiency issue most have in cfs . I think sele supplementation can be dangerous

What you think about this facebook group? All those females low in copper doing copper transfusions not getting better it is insane lol. Why in the world would be someone low in copper. Like if you are not taking high dose zinc all the time there is no way you have true copper deficiency eating normal diet let alone females who have higher estrogen that retains copper in the body.. Do you thing they are all copper toxic?

Probably yea. They lack bioavailable copper and you're right most diets have enough copper daily to not be deficient. No way you'll be low on copper unless you are insanely active, have very good genetics/baseline health from young age and the body is able to utilise it all properly. Which is rare. Does exist obviously. But rarer than the opposite.

And don't forget these women use birth control often which makes the issues worse. I am not suprised a lot of women are suffering with these problems. Plus I always notice birth control changes women for the worst in most cases. It also decimates their testosterone levels and does other hormonal stuff. Just bad stuff. But I also understnad you don't want to get pregnant easily.
