-I avoided 5ar in diet. But when I realized I had some, literally no dangerous effect transpired (outside of some mental overanalysis).

By way of not being able to eat anything during fasting and then subsequently being forced to slowly reintroduce foods, thereby still being heavily restricted (like vegan or basically spinach and some other stuff, some veggies) for a month plus, then slowly adding meat, then eating like 5 of the same types of meals everyday (also restricted but less so than fasting and less so than initial refeed), I avoided 5ar's.
-Later. No difference, or if anything, some help for me.

Like milk thistle helped correct a jacked up liver when I was younger.
And it helped digestion, and such... was used preventatively maybe 20-40 x (maybe more) in the last 8mo or so.

I think it can have an effect but just by being on a certain regimen or eating strictly only [x,y,z] foods, one can avoid 5ar foods.
I think it being anti inflammatory (like meat and veg and no gluten, no dairy, and limited spiciness and things that are anti inflammation like turmeric), I think that
--Helps more than the fact that there's little to no 5ar foods in it.

_I think Oregano is a 5ari. I had it several weeks, found out , quit. It didn't hurt me, but psychologically it made me anxious thinking now I'm eating 5ari's, after all that disaster (pfs). Whatever keeps you going, can help psychologically.
---MAYBE pre fasting they'd jack me up, but I wasn't really eating then either. I knew I had to fast. AND at the same time, it was hard to truly convince myself (and others) that it would actually help so I'd fast 20-40hrs then eat some terrible foods.

-I don't think some 5ari foods will ruin progress, but to keep things simple... it can be avoided.
-It may not be necessary though.

I agree, 5ari's in diet shouldn't be a big deal and we already have things that are helping. 5ari's aren't a worry for me.

I'm just curious as to whether or not complete avoidance over an extended time would have an additional positive effect. Or if it would make no difference. Like giving the body a 1000% push in the other direction with no opposition present...

...the CRISPR thing seems a bit too invasive and overdone imo. It's a cut and paste method, using what seems to be a synthetic coding for the gene. In other words it can't be passed on and might malfunction. All this to make someone produce an enzyme. But if it's an enzyme or protein that's lacking, isn't it likely to be a silenced gene rather than a corrupted gene?

I've read about polymorphisms and markers on genes...So wouldn't the approach be to mold the gene differently rather than cut and paste? Like some kind of autocorrect program.

Anyway, in a case such as us...I don't think the tech will help much in its current form and I do believe that most every "genetic" dysfunction CRISPR will be editing, is 100% fixable naturally...Just that it may take a few generations for some. But those types of studies aren't being done at all. Of course there wouldn't be, because theres no money in a slow, natural and safe cure (editing).

Maybe I'm going to far off into the twilight zone...anyone going to watch the new series?

Someone mentioned that the genetics analysis(for ancestry?) ask if you have taken fin...The question was why do they ask this.

Apparently the labs testing for ancestry determine your origin by analyzing DNA markers. They observe patterns and these patterns show your most likely origin.
The analysis aren't 100% accurate and there is no Caucasian gene or African gene or whatever race gene.

It's all determined by markers. What does that mean. Means there's a possibility that fin creates markers that are found in some races but not in others. They probably discard this observation when you tell them you've taken fin.

Well there you have it.
Thoughts????

BTW this fits with epigenetics/polymorphism

Can applying CBD oil topically help with fibrosis/shrinkage both penile and testicular?

Following that example what about homemade topical solutions:

Watermelon, sorghum, spinach etc???

Is phosphorus supplementation ok?
Ive heard no one ever needs it. Too much phosphorus can harm calcium and vitamin D status, according to Chris Masterjohn (PhD in nutritional sciences)

Hypophosphatemic Osteomalacia is why I ask.

I heard Jimmy Dore saying he had this and it sounded like the bone pain i was struggling with and bone shrinking is a symptom. It's said to be very rare and he said it was explained as his own body leeching the minerals from his bones.
Took years before a doctor diagnosed him correctly and he was given phosphorus supplements which stopped the progression.

Not sure if others recovering from pfs have found phosphorus is depleted. I have to look for my results to reference.

Just thinking out loud and looking for input, I'm not thinking I had some form of this until I have more info.

Actually...now I'm thinking blood analysis may not indicate bone mineral concentration of phosphorus because it probably only shows what's in the blood, not bone.

High PTH levels will cause bones to leak calcium, thus shrinking, weakness and pain. Leaking calcium goes into the heart and other organs and calcifies...

Need to figure out what exactly needs balancing and if it's pituitary thyroid, then I need to find natural remedy. I don't want to take thyroid hormone binders.

My guess is it was always thyroid hormone off balance which would explain why supplements didn't help much.

Hey guys, I've been having pain when sneezing lately in my ribs/chest cavity and more recently in upper neck/spine.

It's only painful during sneezing. Anyone else experience this? Is this nerve issues due to nervous system unbalance in pfs or spinal disc issue? Did you guys recover this?
Do you still have this issue?

@Cdsnuts

Hi CD,

I came across some protocols by
Dr. Cassar for lymphatic system detoxing.

I know you have similar protocols but have you done these?

Do you think they'd help or is it an over done detox?

I ate the seeds of the fruits as a child.
Mostly from apple, orange, grape, lemon, lime, kiwi, papaya, pear and watermelon.

This was back in the late 80's early 90's, maybe before the gmo seeds and glyphosate took over.

I was wondering if there is any information on how good or bad eating the seeds can be. I'm trying to eat the best diet possible.
I haven't found anything negative though.

Not sure if this has been discussed...

What caused/causes the vitamin D deficiency in PFS?

Is it CF? Apparently/most likely not...

It's just odd why D is low to non-existent.
