In my never ending quest to get hurt and or injured - I had to receive a cortisone shot today in my shoulder to be able to still let it function. Lot of built up issues there over my lifetime. I’m two weeks off of TEI as of yesterday.

@Helen, @Goose12, @Boris, @RebelWithACause - any issue with this affecting hair test bad? Or issues with it? I was planning on taking scalp sample next week. I know the shot is not as bad as the oral tablet and stays more locally but this all is so sensitive with testing I didn’t know. Any input is fantastic, thanks fellas.

Yeah it could possibly. @hairsuit was on Prednisone it messed with his test, I believe it was his potassium levels

Yeah, I knew it could do something. I think most of the other gents that have been on prednisone, etc. were doing it orally over longer term dosages. I don't believe much of the corticosteroid is absorbed (I know some will be, of course) similar to an oral dosage in a shot form. Total assumption there.

I dont think it will effect your results. Its one time only and you are going to cut the hair next week already.

That’s kind of what I’m hoping for too. I will say, it has been years since I’ve had one of these. Fuck this - these things suck. I’m sore as fuck now and just generally don’t feel good. Better be worth it lol.

it will affect you hair. man. cortisol supps are strong. the piece of hair when you took cortisol would have extreme potassium reading, and mixed with other part of the hair, it could change the result.

How long should I wait to let it clear? Or should I just take the hair today or something?

I was really hoping to get by with it since it’s just a one-time local injection versus oral supplementation.

Im not saying it wont affect his hair.

Though in 7 days his hair wont grow more than .2 cm and I doubt he will cut this close to his scalp. If this part he was doing cortisol would even be long enough to reach the scalp . Most likely its still "in" his head/ onset of his hairbulb :d
And he's probably doing hair strand lenght representing last 1-3 months. Doubt it would represent anything he did last 1-2 weeks.

So if hes not cutting 0.03 cm pieces or pulls his hair instead of cutting it I doubt it will change too much to be worried. At least this time.

Id even say the sooner he is cutting the more likely it is to not appear on the test at all.

Gonna plan to cut it this afternoon I guess. I guess if it comes back F’d up I’ll just give it a few months.

Anything supplement wise I can take to get rid of this terrible blah feeling I get everytime I block/lower cortisol (which is what I assume the shot I had yesterday did)? Piss on ever getting one of those done again.

Wait 2-3 days.

Thanks for being the voice of reason there. Much better today. It’s crazy how much cortisol influences mania/mental function.

Still waiting on TEI results from Catherine. Just following same diet and exercising for the most part.

Most studies show that Methylprednisolone shots cause cortisol suppression for up to 3 weeks after, and I’m 2 weeks from my shot now. I’m feeling all the low cortisol effects too, they kind of come and go at this point - I have been one exhausted tired MFer. Hard to tell if the past TEI cycle did much for me mentally/PTSD wise at this time.

Newest results are in. No changes to supplements. Levels have changed a little bit, seems my ratios have improved.

How are you feeling? Improvements?

I can tell some improvement in PTSD, and overall health, but nothing major yet. I committed to doing this for a year and I’ll be halfway after this cycle. If I don’t notice anything after the year point that makes me go forward, I’ll probably call it.

I am hopeful though, this has been one of the only things that has helped that condition. And I’ve tried a lot over the years.

Two weeks in, tomorrow. This run of supplements feels a lot like the last, for the most part. It's hard to judge progress at the moment because the methylprednisolone injection I got a month ago really screwed with my stress response and PTSD as a whole due to its effects on cortisol. It's definitely gotten better here lately, but hopefully that settles back to where I was before.

Continuing with red light/NIR light therapy, supplements, and suggested diet. For the most part all is going well. Probably going to only update this every three months or so as there hasn't been much to write home about, but not so much in a bad way or anything.

Interesting development. After about the last four weeks of last cycle and the first four of this one being feeling great, I’m having hard retracing symptoms again. Metallic taste in mouth, headaches, fatigue, eye strain, etc..... probably getting rid of something.

Added TUDCA for the month to see how it helps with gut/digestion. Don't anticipate any issues with the program, but the taurine element might interact a little bit. Who knows. So far so good, however.
