Rosmarinic acid is also an IDO inhibitor. I used that along with couple of more inhibitors.

Soviets tested 25k substances , and found that tryptophan and histidine were the only ones which protected against radiation. Shoot.

Of course both of those are heavily deficient in an RP diet (even cysteine)...no wonder why Peat's teeth are gone, there is no way his teeth just fell out from eating wheat germ like the usual claim is. Gelatin contains like no histidine, cysteine and tryptophan.

Many types of tumors are oxidative and very reliant on fat metabolism, I imagine red light would make those types of tumor much worse. I think red light can be great for tissues with severely impaired metabolism, like tendons and ligaments. Red light cured my biceps tendonitis within 2 weeks after having it for 3 months, but I've found only negative or no effects using it elsewhere.

Peat is super against cysteine (and tryptophan) intake, often talks about both negatively. Goes to show how basic some of his mistakes can be, he's focusing so much mental energy on thinking of strategies to inhibit ROS and minimize stress that he's completely overlooking what roles these amino acids actually have in normal physiological function.

You could have thought that Ray Peat is an agent for a radical group trying to control the population growth. But then You see him lose his teeth like that, so may be he is an honest dude, just a little wrong. He talked so much about calcium metabolism , how calcium this calcium that. And then his teeth go first. Fins who drink the milk have the highest rate of osteoporosis. So no wonder.

Radiation is crazy everywhere now. I think we do have at least 3 harmful things, acetaldehyde in the air. toxic metals from gasoline( lead, manganese mercury) and radiation. And on top of that those bastards spread us with the chemtrails LOL

Ray is a good guy. I have e-mailed him back and forth and he means well, very polite and very open-minded. He's just wrong on some things. Ironically his perspective on diet during the 90s was much better. Some of his earlier material makes much more sense.

I can agree with the rest, for sure. Maybe not on chemtrails lol, don't want to go down that rabbit hole right now though!

that was a good read Gbold, I printed it out and will add it to my binder I made. The article also jives with what you say as well.

Yeah, those are my thoughts as well. He overlooks way too many of the basic functionalities in the body and resorts directly to the end reaction and concludes on that, which is kind of scary TBH.

Based on anthropological logic, we used to eat ALL the animal, so it could not have been mostly gelatine and milk... I think our actual metabolism has to do with the circumstances that made us through evolution. Life style is so important for this reason! Air water and food. What we eat, breathe and what we have on our skin, as these are the 3 doors to our blood.

Does the zinc finger theory have any relation to alkalosis/acidosis states?
Super good question! And relation to the metabolic types?

Didn't you also say RP diet is deficient in zinc and very high in copper since Ray's glasses are so thick, that makes sense since histidine increases uptake of zinc to tissue (it noted that in the study you posted). So if you are not taking in enough histidine you can defintely run into issues all over the place.

I revived a thread about histamine and copper....

"Zinc is used up rapidly under stress, and when stimulants such as coffee, alcohol and sugar are used.

Zinc is a sedative, calming mineral for the brain. When copper becomes high, zinc levels drop, increasing the stimulating effect of copper on the mental functions. GABA, an inhibitory, calming neurotransmitter, is zinc dependent. The ideal ratio of copper to zinc is 1:8 in favor of zinc. Zinc is usually accompanied by copper in the diet. The only common food that has high zinc without high copper is meat and to a lesser degree, eggs."

-> Coffee, sugar and little red meat is stimulating mental functions of researchers!! And also creativity of painters and other artists...

Then, high copper -> low histamine.
And when histamine is low, there can be a corresponding over-methylation. With too much methyl, the body will overproduce dopamine, norepinephine and serotonin.
I remember Ray Peat has a bad opinion about methylation and serotonin...

Then he is not fond of B12, so Haidut did not put any in his B complex, folate neither.
But RP is concerned about homocysteine, which would be useless with enough B12, which activates the enzyme that converts homocysteine back into methionine (methionine synthase - MS).

And if methylation is impaired, fatty acid metabolism will be impaired too! And if you do not burn fatty acids, then you would not want PUFAs....

Edit once more....
Copper is inversely connected to iron. So if you want to keep your copper high and stimulating, you would want to take coffee with your meals, because it helps to not retain iron from food!

High copper is also high estrogens, and peat wants to fight estrogen dominance. That is another sign that goes in the direction that all what he does is centered around high copper and its consequences....

How has she come to that conclusion, don't the results of your Trace Minerals hair analysis say what sort of oxidiser you are?
Yes it says slow 4 on the tei test. arl uses a different classification system and id be a fast according to them

At least you got it right when you did not want to fast! Please update in your log! Why? what is the difference? We talked before - I remember - about similarities between some slows and fasts...
I spoke to a second practitioner yesterday who says im definitely a slow 4.

LOL

My plan is just to keep going as is. I still supp zinc. Im going to take the alanine+histidine combo now too when it arrives.

I think i keep taking slow ox supps for 2 more months, then i retest. If im improving (like slow 2 or 3) then i will continue. If i stay the same or become a fast then ill change plans and go copper/magnesium/potassium.

I think im confused because gbold puts all the emphasis on oxidation type. But oxidation type by TEI is defined by nervous system dominance the ca/phosphorus ratio. Mine is almost perfect. So i think its not a problem for me. My thyroid is slightly fast but not a huge problem. My adrenals are just insane oversped.

So this latest practitioner recomended b6, bee pollen, and a supplement called mellow mood which has a few things supposed to chill the adrenals.

I was doing research on aminos and came across this thread Amino Acid Supplementation For People With Poor Digestion

Gbol been talking about aminos for years and Haidut decided to make a thread and try to capitalize by referencing @gbolduev This thread is three years old. So for everyone on RPF saying he has been making up theories out of no where, this stuff years old LOL

Haidut even mentioned him in the first sentence by name:

"This topic has come up repeatedly and recently forum member gbolduev raises the issue again, and forum member jyb suggested I post about it. It seems that due to hypothyroidism and other conditions, many people on the forum have a functional protein deficiency due to poor ability to digest protein from food."

"One thing to keep in mind is that you don't need all the aminos listed above. As you know, tryptophan, methionine an histidine are not optimal for health. In addition, most people already have them floating around their body in such amounts that taking extra is not necessary. So, you can achieve both increased protein utilization and selective amino acid depletion reported by studies to have beneficial effects (tryptophan, methionine, cysteine, etc). For instance, it is well know that raising body levels of carnosine is beneficial for athletic performance. Rather than take pure carnosine, which is expensive, most studies use beta alanine supplementation since it combines with the plenty of histidine floating around and creates carnosine by also depleting histidine a bit. Similarly, people have a lot of tryptophan floating around bound to albumin and also methionine stored in the liver. Thus, one typically does NOT need to supplement all essential amino acids to trigger protein synthesis (MPS) and by supplementing with only partial essential aminos you get the benefits of selective amino acid depletion as well."

But he says that "As you know, tryptophan, methionine an histidine are not optimal for health." !!!
About protein digestion, and optimisation of amino-acids, if some of you read the topic on my almost raw diet, it really helps, and I have checked out a bit on the web in raw paleo circles, people drop cooking of protein food as they notice they need less.... I can confirm I noticed too.

Of course he will say that, that is what RP says you think he will disagree? lol.

That is just crazy to say it is so for everybody! I think he unconsciously wanted to get all the advantages of having some high copper to stimulate him!
I have updated my upper post, thanks for liking it, and I think you will like it even more with all I found that goes the same direction, i was amazed at all that was fitting together, it all fits. Just check i did not make a mistake by thinking it was fitting in my 1st findings! i did not intend to find this, all those pieces just started falling one after another and I was in awe! It seems that Ray Peat found ways to keep his painting creativity and his researcher mind through keeping the necessary umbalance in favor of the stimulating metal copper, and then found compensations one after another, to deal with the subsequent domino-like consequences!
