I did it bc after burning off like 70-85lb of fat I looked like good but skinny. FOR YRS. And was scared to gain fat. So it put me in fat burning and muscle sparing mode, and stimulated GH and insulin sensitivity rather than resistance, hence less fat gain, more LBM gain and "micro cuts and bulks" rather than full on "bulking and cutting".
Also, less cals = longer life (obviously to a limit). Pure LBM gains. Rather than strong skinny strong less skinny strong fat v strong too much fat, then cutting. As an analogy.
Also I do it for ADHD++. Literally every interview I've ever done fasted = job offer. Despite being like "Huh?!, what am I interviewing for?" A's vs no shows. It just helps me.
Could be psychosomatic but ten yrs+ ?? I don't think so. NE and cortisol helps me get things done (to an extent, too much = bad news). Instead of skipping 99% of classes, I only skipped 30-50% and still learned in gr 12 and two universities and 3 programs. Obviously that's not "all due to IF", but its just a tool. Makes me happier... or usually does, probably bad at times for mood tho. But not doing anything, not using all these tools is worse for me.
-It helps my confidence and ROUTINES (which are essential for my other issues). -So does "liquid sugar" in the morning too a bit... but either or.
-If I took oj, or a coffee, or a stimulant one hr or so before waking up for real ---> day's good. But yeah usually this kind of planning ahead did not occur. It did tho 180days of a year at times.
-But then of course: "Everyone's different, No 2 snowflakes are alike."
-More ripped in 2016 and now than the other yrs combined training. I only trained like 3mo in 2016 maybe more but 3 with professionals.
-I think it's good for "professional hours", like the professions --- no male in my family ate 3-5meals a day usually, not the high earners. In medicine here they work 24hrs 40 hr shifts on call. 72hrs 4-7yrs straight almost at times in surgical residencies. Saves money and time too.
